Work Text:
Dennis Whitaker had started his rotation about three months ago. He was always careful in taking his suppressants and making sure his scent patches were changed properly and was now accustomed to the hospital policy on how to take time off for his heats. He was standing next to Trinity Santos when he realized his patch started to irritate his skin a little.
Santos gave him a look of concern and was about to speak when all of a sudden the ambulance bay doors opened.
"45-year old male, alpha, took a knife to his hand. 7-centimeter laceration on his left palm. BP of 120 over 70. Blood alcohol content of 0.11."
Dennis and Santos got to work on the patient, pulling him into an available room. The man in front of them was slurring his words. Dennis took a small flashlight and shined it into the man's eyes watching as the pupils reacted to the light. He was stable but the smell of alcohol filled the room, Dennis's nose twitched.
"What do we have?" Dr. Michael Robinvanitch asked as he walked into the room.
Dennis looked up from the patient and explained all that happened, "We haven't gotten his name yet but we're focusing on stopping the bleeding and starting sutures to close the wound."
"Good, go ahead and get started. Santos when you finish I need your help with the patient in bay 2." Dr. Robby left the room quickly running towards said patient and out of Dennis's sight.
Santos had helped Dennis set up the materials, "Will you be okay Huckleberry? On your own for a minute?"
Dennis nodded as he started to administer the lidocaine to the patient's hand, "Yeah, I'll be fine."
Dennis turned to the patient as Santos left the room, "Okay Sir, this is going to burn a little and then you won't feel anything okay?"
The man slurred out, "Just hurry the fuck up - stupid bitch."
Dennis didn't pay attention to the words thrown at him as he continued to work on the sutures on the wound. Once he finished and bandaged it he grabbed his notebook out of his pocket and started to write down any notes he needed.
"What is your name Sir?" Dennis asked, "Can you tell me what happened for you to get this cut on your hand?"
The man was staring at him, a look in his eye. Dennis could feel his ears turn red as the man's eyes bore into his skin. The alpha in font of him started to release pheromones that, in all honesty, made Dennis's stomach turn. Dennis put his notepad away and put on another set of gloves.
"Sir, I'm going to put a scent patch on you," Dennis reached for the man's collar.
The man was quick, his hand grabbed Dennis's wrist and pulled him close, close enough to where Dennis could feel his breath on his neck. Dennis struggled and tried pushing off the man only to spin them around to pin him to the hospital bed.
"Who let you work today? A dumb-ass alpha who can't control his bitch?" The man said, his words clearing a little.
Dennis wriggled underneath him, the pressure of the man on top of him causing his breathing to quicken, "Let go of me!"
"I will teach you a lesson omega," The man started, "Teach you not to tease an alpha this way."
Dennis's breath hitched as he could hear the man's belt starting to become undone. He managed to spin around enough to shove the man off of him and get up from the bed. The man looked shocked before going back and grabbing Dennis and throwing him to the floor, climbing on top of him and wrapping one of his hands around the omega's throat. The man used his bandaged hand to peel off the scent patch of the struggling omega and ran his fingers over the scent gland.
Bile started to rise in Dennis's mouth, he was thrashing and fighting the man on top of him. His breath was being constricted and he thought about how he was going to die here, pinned under an alpha he didn't want.
The alpha above him was slowly rutting his hips against him, pulling his scrub top up a little to run the now bleeding hand up his chest and over nis nipples. A shiver ran through the omega's body as he used all the strength he had to call out.
"Somebody help!"
----
Dr. Robby was talking to Dana at the nurses station when they heard Dennis's call for help. Robby ran towards the room with Dana trailing behind him. When he opened the door and saw the boy was pinned under the man he quickly sprung into action.
"What the Hell is going on!" Robby grabbed the man and threw him off of the omega.
Dennis quickly scrambled away from the two alphas. Dana grabbed him and hauled him up as they watched the altercation ensue. Robby had the man pinned in no time at all, barking orders for security to take the man and for the cops to be called. Dennis was dragged away into another empty room and looked over by Dana.
"What the Hell happened kid?" Dana asked, removing the omega's shirt to help clean off the blood.
"I- I don't know." Dennis stuttered, his lavender and vanilla smell turning sour as bile quickly ran up his throat.
Dana quickly grabbed an emesis bag and allowed the boy to throw up, rubbing soothing circles in his back. The older beta had seen the way he shook and could tell he was in need of going home.
Dr. Robby then ran into the room, "Whitaker! Are you okay?"
Dennis just stared at the older man, heat pooled into his stomach. Dennis looked panicked and just wanted to change out of his scrubs. Robby stared at the boy in front of him, he wasn’t a usual omega. The kid was strong from working on his parent’s farm and had earned his place in the Pitt. The alpha took a step forward, carefully examining the omega.
“Dennis,” The name rolled off his tongue with ease, “Can you tell me what happened?”
The omega looked up at the older man, sadness pooled in them, the blue turning brighter as tears welled. The omega shook with small sobs. Dennis wiped away his tears as Robby kept staring at him.
“He- He was drunk, and on top of me.” Dennis hiccuped, “He said he was gon- gonna teach me a lesson for being allowed to work here.”
The omega’s scent had been soiled, but there was a heat to it, something deeper. Robby nodded Dana out of the room and she complied, taking one last glance at the omega before leaving. The omega was shaking, his hands linking behind his head to hold himself in any way possible.
Robby gently raised Whitaker’s chin, checking for any signs of head trauma. The warm touch of the doctor calmed some nerves in the boy in front of him. Robby noticed the sheen of sweat that now covered the boy in front of him, he was shaking and breathing deeply.
“Dennis? Are you okay?” Robby wasn’t asking about overall wellbeing, he wanted specifics.
“Wha-”
Dennis’s eyes were clouded over, and a pain he knew too well swelled in his belly. His hands wrapped around himself and he started to rock slightly back and forth. A small groan left his lips that sounded too similar to that of arousal.
Robby removed his hands and stepped back from the omega. He watched as the omega started to go into heat.
“When was your last heat Whitaker?” Robby asked, watching the omega take deep breaths.
“I- I had one ab-about a week or so ag-ah- ago.” Dennis muttered as another wave ran through him.
Stress heat.
The realization shot through Dr. Robby as he started to take in the vanilla and lavender suffocating the room. He slowly made his way to the door watching the omega slowly lay down on the bed he is on.
“Dennis, I’m going to go grab Dana real quick okay? I’ll be right back.” Robby didn’t wait for a response before leaving the room, hearing the omega whine behind the closed door.
Dana caught sight of Robby and quickly stood, “How’s the kid?”
Robby leaned against the nurses desk and shook his head, “Poor kids going into a stress heat. We gotta send him home.”
Dana nodded her head, folding her arms over her chest. She stared at the room containing the poor boy before she suddenly spoke.
“Does he have someone to take him home?”
Robby stood up straight, folding his own arms over his chest. He thought about it for a moment, catching sight of Dr. Santos and stopping her for a moment.
“Santos! You live with Whitaker right?” Robby asked, scratching the back of his head at his own scent patch, a slight burn around the edges.
Santos stopped and stared at Robby, “Umm, yeah? Why?”
“May I speak with you for a moment?”
“I guess.” Santos followed Robby.
“Whiticker needs to go home,” Robby explained, Santos nodded.
“Okay, he can walk.” Santos started as she began to turn away.
“Santos,” Robby noticed her stop and turned back towards the older man.
“I’m aware that he may be able to walk but he needs someone to watch and help care for him.” Robby said, an edge in his voice.
“Oh, um, okay.” Santos rubbed her arms on her sides, “Why?”
Robby groaned as he ran a hand over his face, “I mean no disrespect but what is your presenting?”
Santos stiffened but seemed to realize the severity of the situation, “Alpha, why?”
“Never mind then. He needs to get home safely.”
“Wait! Dr. Robby, what is happening?” Santos called, “What’s wrong with Huckleberry?”
Robby ignored the question as he went back to the nurses station and leaned against it, speaking lowly to Dana, “I’m going to take him home.”
Dana’s head snapped up, looking with a wide eye expression, “Robby, the ethics alone.”
“He needs to go home and be safe, and unfortunately can’t stay here like this.”
Robby quickly stood and went back to Dennis’s room, opening the door to the sweet smell of vanilla invading his nose. The poor omega was curled on the bed, sweating to the point the sheets were almost soaked. Small moans and shivers escaped the boy, Robby dawned a pair of gloves and made his way over to him.
“Dennis,” Robby spoke softly, softly running a wet wipe over the boy’s head, “We’re gonna get you home, you’re gonna rest and take care of yourself. You’ll come back once your heat is over, got it?”
Dennis whined softly, leaning into Robby’s touch. His eyes fluttered open as Robby lowered the lights a little, trying to make the omega comfortable.
“I wanna g-ah, go.” Dennis whimpered, trying to sit up.
“Woah, easy Whitaker,” Robby guided the omega, “You’ll go home soon.”
Then Robby made a decision, a dumb, impulsive decision.
“I’ll take you home.”
—
Suddenly Robby was guiding the heated, sweaty omega to his car. He had his arm wrapped around the boy’s waist and another guiding his arm. The omega had sweat through the scrubs he was wearing and was now in a paper gown. The boy was still panting and sighed once they reached the cool air outside.
“Feel good? The cold air?” Robby asked, chuckling as the omega smiled and nodded softly.
Once they reached the alpha’s car he unlocked it and helped the omega into the passenger seat, the poor thing had slick trailing down his thigh and the smell was really starting to affect the older alpha.
Robby started the car and rolled down the windows and let the cool air fill the car and distract from the heat radiating off the body next to him as well as distract from the delicious smell.
Delicious?
Then another dumb, impulsive decision hit the alpha.
—
Dennis was leaning against the car window seal, letting the cool air wave over him. He peaked through his eyelashes and saw them turn down an unfamiliar road.
“This isn’t the way to San- our apartment.” Dennis whispered, a small groan leaving his lips as another wave of heat pulsed through him.
“I know,” Robby stated, focusing his eyes entirely on the road ahead, “You need someone to help take care of you. I may not be the best option but I can help in some ways.”
Some ways.
The words rang in Dennis’s ears as they pulled into the driveway of a nice house, a motorcycle resting.
“Where are we?” Dennis asked a small wave of anxiety pulsed through him.
Robby parked the car and made his way to the passenger side, opening the door to help Dennis up and inside the house. Inside it was warm, which felt fine for Robby but was way too hot for the younger man clinging to him. Dennis slowly started to pull on the gown wrapped around him.
“Hey, wait until we make it to my guest room,” Robby rushed, “Then we can get you situated, I promise.”
Dennis whined as Robby grabbed the younger man’s arms, the burn of the contact made Dennis gasp. He tried to lean into Robby only to be pushed further up the stairs into a room. There was a bed, dresser, nightstand, nothing out of the ordinary but it was cold. Dennis sighed as he finally pulled the gown off, falling onto the bed like a starfish, breathing deeply as he tried to catch the warm smell of sandalwood and apples. A groan left his lips in frustration.
“Robby,” he mewled, “Please.”
Robby was moving before he could think, he must’ve left the room at some point cause he ran a cold cloth over the younger man. Running it over his forehead, neck, arms, chest.
“Ro- Ah- Robby,” Dennis croaked, slick poured out of him, “Touch me, please.”
Robby’s hand stilled, pulling away slightly, “What?”
Dennis mewled at the loss of touch. His back arched slightly as he tried to get past the heat and to just feel.
“I- I know that it’s inappropriate, but please.” Dennis whined, a small groan leaving his lips, “Just one touch…please.”
—
Robby was full of impulsive decisions.
The alpha didn’t think as he pulled the omega in and leaned into his neck, scenting it with his nose. The omega was writhing under him moaning as Robby placed a small kiss onto his neck. Dennis’s arms flew up and wrapped around the alpha, one of his hands grabbing onto his hair. He was panting as Robby continued kissing and scenting him.
Dennis felt the scent patch placed just below the older alpha’s hairline on his neck, he pulled on it a little, causing the alpha to still.
“Rob- Alpha,” Dennis mewled, “Please.”
Robby curses quietly under his breath, bringing his lips up to meet the omega’s, reaching behind and ripping the scent patch off and the smell of apples and sandalwood flooded the room. Mixing it with the sweet smell of vanilla and lavender…
Robby’s hands were roaming the omega’s body as his tongue entered the younger man’s mouth. A moan leaves the omega’s mouth as they begin to pant into each other’s moths.
“One touch?: Robby asked.
“Wha- ha. One touch.” Dennis confirmed.
Robby ripped off his own clothing as he continued to kiss and caress the man below him. The omega could feel as slick was pooling between his legs, the alpha on top of him inhaled deeply.
“May I?” Robby asked.
Dennis couldn’t think as he took in the alpha’s words, “Yes.”
Robby’s hands were on him again, stoking him as he went back to kissing the younger man. Moans and shivers pulsed through Dennis as his back arched, the first of many times he comes.
Robby started to kiss down his jaw, neck, chest, finally reaching his belly button before leaning back admiring his work almost, watching as the omega was panting and whining below him. He watched as slick continued to pool beneath him, he brought his fingers down collecting some in his hand before slowly inserting a finger into the younger man.
Dennis moaned deeply and his back arched as the alpha began to pump the single finger, curling it every once in a while.
“Rob- Michael.” Dennis moaned, moving his hips in time with the finger.
“Shhh.” Robby continued, slowly inserting another finger and scissoring the omega.
Dennis was now writhing, tears slowly building, “Please, please, please.”
Robby continued to pump and scissor the omega, kissing the man under him.
“Do you think you’re ready baby boy?”
Dennis nodded frantically, pulling Robby in again into a hot kiss, “Alpha, please!”
Robby chuckled as he started to line himself up, slowly inserting into the omega, with how slick the younger man was producing it was easy to go to the hilt. The omega arched again, panting as he got used to the feeling.
“Lord,” Dennis whispered, “Help me.”
Robby watched as the omega’s eyes fluttered shut before a small moan left his lips.
“Can I move baby?”
Dennis nodded, eyes still closed only opening them again with a gasp as the alpha began to start pumping into him. Soon enough the alpha was groaning and moving quicker. The sounds of skin hitting skin and moans were the only thing left between them.
“Dennis,” Robby growled, “Omega.”
He was close, he could tell the omega was too. He could feel his knot starting to form, he had his nose in Dennis’s neck, breathing in his scent, fangs starting to descend.
“Alpha,” Dennis moaned, “Please, please.”
Robby made another impulsive decision, and bit into the omega’s neck. His knot formed and the omega moaned loudly, shaking while he peaked himself, painting the two men’s stomachs.
Robby licked the bite mark now adorning the omega’s neck as hit rocked slightly, his knot locking in place.
“Robby?” Dennis asked, voice tired and just above a whisper, “Can I?”
Robby nodded, not sure what he was agreeing to but now there was no turning back. His mate mark was already attached to the omega underneath him.
Dennis leaned forward, licking the alpha’s neck before sinking his own fangs into the man’s neck. Robby groaned as the bond took place.
Dennis sunk back into the bed, a content sigh leaving his lips. Robby leaned down kissing the omega’s lips, jaw and finally on the new mating mark. A small moan left the omega as they settled into the bed and waited for the knot to settle.
After a while they awoke with the knot fully settled. Robby removed himself and got up to clean the two. He allowed the omega to stretch and stand, Dennis slowly made his was to the restroom with help from his alpha.
His alpha.
A warmth fell into the omega’s chest. It wasn’t heat but contentment.
Dennis washed his hands and finally looked into the mirror. He looked into his own eyes, slightly red from the mating. He ran his hands over his face, then he looked down at his neck, it was sore and a red mark adorned it. He gasped slowly palpate the mark.
“What happened?” Dennis laughed to himself.
Robby leaned against the door, a smile on his face, and a chuckle leaving his lips, “We were impulsive.”
