Chapter Text
The party was loud. Drugs and drinks were flowing like water, and people were enjoying themselves. Groupies were walking around, socialising with the mass of rockstars, trying to get business. Which they actively gave.
A young girl was sitting on the balcony, sipping on a glass of wine as she looked out over the sunset. Seeming content at missing the atmosphere of the party going on around her, she was in her own world. The wind ruffled her light brown hair, messing it up slightly. She didn’t seem to mind, just watching the sunset.
Until a drunken Nikki Sixx stumbles outside, seeing her and walking over.
“Hey! Star, didn’t know you were here. You enjoying yourself?”
He slurs loudly, causing the girl, Star, to look up, rolling her eyes.
“Shut up, Sixx. I don’t see why you insist on having parties almost every night. You know the only reason I come along is for contacts.”
Nikki laughs loudly, reaching to ruffle her hair.
“Sure, kid. Contacts, mhm. And not trying to get some.”
He laughs, before catching sight of a groupie, walking over to her and striking up a conversation. Star rolls her eyes again, standing up and walking inside.
In the corner, Razzle, the drummer for Hanoi Rocks, was standing, talking with Vince. As Star walked in, his eyes immediately found her, everything else blurring out.
Vince’s voice broke him out of his trance.
“Razzle! Dude, come back to me.”
Razzle looks at him, laughing.
“Sorry, man. Just,”
He pauses, his eyes finding Star again.
“Who is that girl?”
Vince follows his line of sight, scoffing as he shakes his head.
“That, my friend, is Asteria Mercury. She acts better than us, so you’d never have a chance with her. I wouldn’t even-”
But Razzle was still staring at her as Vince stopped himself with a laugh, shaking his head.
“Your heart’s gonna get broken by her, mate.”
Razzle just shrugs, seemingly not caring. His eyes are still glued to Star, who has now noticed, raising an eyebrow as she looks over at the two with a small smile. Vince rolls his eyes as Star makes her way over, watching her. She stands near them once she gets a few steps away, looking Razzle up and down, not being subtle about it. Before she speaks, however, Vince interrupts her.
“Spare him, Star. Don’t be a tease.”
Star just shrugs, a smirk on her face.
“Who said I was teasing?”
She asks, her voice faux-innocent as she looks at Vince, then back at Razzle.
“So, what’s your name?”
She asks him, to which he smiles, extending a hand as a greeting.
“Razzle. Razzle Dingley. Drummer for Hanoi Rocks.”
Star smirks, reaching her hand out to shake his.
“British, hm? Cute.”
She smirks, to which Vince rolls his eyes.
“Star, seriously? Anyways, I’m off to go get some more drinks. You two coming with?”
He asks. Razzle goes to nod, but Star shakes her head before he can, looking at him out of the corner of her eye.
“No. I think I’d quite like to get to know Razzle here. Away from your blonde dumbassery.”
She says, to which Vince scoffs, rolling his eyes at her.
“Your loss, darling.”
He smirks, before walking off, giving his wife a kiss before he leaves to get into the car. Star turns to Razzle, raising an eyebrow.
“You seem nervous. Would you like to go somewhere more quiet, perhaps?”
She smirks, her tone slightly teasing, slightly flirty. Razzle nods, suddenly aware that his hand is still holding hers. Before he can pull away, Star smiles, interlacing their fingers and starting to walk towards the stairs, Razzle following like a loyal puppy. They both make their way upstairs, to an empty room. Once they get in, Star lets go of Razzle’s hand, both sitting down - Star on the bed, and Razzle on a chair.
For the next hour or so, both just talk, sharing laughs and jokes, Star making flirty comments. Their enjoyment is interrupted, however, when Sharise, Vince’s wife, knocks on the door, quickly opening it. She seems panicked, looking at Star.
“Star, it’s Vince. He’s been in a crash.”
Both Star and Razzle immediately look towards her, Star standing up and walking over to her.
“Fuck. Is he okay?”
She asks, to which Sharise nods, both Star and Razzle letting out a sigh of relief.
“He’s okay. They said it’s just some light injuries. They said it’s lucky he was on his own, because it was the passenger side that was impacted. He’s been taken to the police station though, arrested for dangerous driving causing a collision.”
She explains, Star nodding as she places a hand on her shoulder.
“Sharise, go lie down. This stress isn’t good for the baby. I’ll go explain to the others, tell everyone to go home, okay? You just get some rest, and then I’ll take you to the police station tomorrow morning to see Vince, okay?”
She says, to which Sharise nods, before walking off to her bedroom. Star goes to leave the room before Razzle speaks up, still in a state of shock from the news.
“We could have been in that car. But we weren’t. Because of you.”
Star turns to face him, taking in his words before she nods, letting out a hum.
“S’pose so. Good job really then, hm?”
She says with a small laugh, to which Razzle nods, before making a comment that neither of them had expected. Lie the words fell out of his mouth before he could comprehend them.
“You saved my life. Like you’re my guardian angel.”
