Two can keep a secret

Summary:

Katsuki's first crush just happens to be a murderer.

Chapter Text

For a while Katsuki hought he was aromatic. Or asexual.

Something of the sort.

He just couldn't understand the appeal of relationships. He watched Kirishima and Mina kiss and laugh and argue and cry. It just looked like a lot of work. A lot of commitment. And a lot of feelings, none of which he was particularly into.

He watched from the sidelines as his friends fell in and out of love, dated, had sex, got their hearts broken and he soon came to the conclusion that love wasn't made for someone like himself.

And Katsuki was okay with that. Don't get him wrong, he was sure relationships were lovely in their own way but who the fuck would love someone as cynical, brash and rude as Katsuki.

Not in a self loathing way. He knew people liked him at the very least. And there had to be a reason why these extras stuck around since middle school. But Katsuki wasn't optimistic like Kirishima or funny like Kaminari. He was angry and loud and not capable of loving others.

And so he came to conclusion that he didn't want a relationship, didn't need one. He turned down every extra that made moves on him at parties and broke the hearts of lovers who stupidly decided to confess to him.

Honestly, the thought of a relationship hadn't crossed his mind in ages. Until he arrived.

Izuku Midoriya was like the sun and everyone else was like planets in his orbit. He was the spectacle and we were the audience.

It was impossible not to stare at him which was odd because there wasn't anything particularly marvellous about him. He was alright looking, a little plain. But he had this aura that couldn't help but draw people in.

At first, it pissed Katsuki off. Who the fuck was this new kid and why was everyone obsessed with him?

But eventually, he became enchanted by Izuku's presence too.

Katsuki called it hatred. He hated Izuku. His stupid big green eyes and ugly freckles. His frizzy curls and crooked smile. He was sickly sweet in the way that you could tell was completely and utterly fake and he just happened to be in every one of Katsuki's classes.

At first, it was easy to hate him from a distance. He quickly hung out with Round Cheeks' friend group after his first day at UA High and seemed to fit right in with their nerdy little group.

But of course Pinky had to open her fat mouth.

"Hey, Midoriya, why don't you eat lunch with us today?" She suggested in homeroom with a smile.

Midoriya grinned like he'd won the fucking lottery before eagerly coming over to their group.

"Really?" He asked, eyes shining.

"Yeah, we haven't had a chance to get to know you," Kirishima smiled.

Kaminari began to laugh, "Yeah it's like Ochako's trying to keep you all to herself," He joked.

That earned him a glared from the brunette across the classroom. But everyone caught the flush on her cheeks. She liked Midoriya, like almost every other girl in the school.

That wasn't a surprise. Midoriya got along with everyone. He wasn't arrogant to the other boys like Monoma or corny towards the girls like Kaminari. The nerd was perfect. And it ticked Katsuki off.

He caught sight of the school sweetheart in the hall that same day and a scowl instantly fell on his face. Katsuki's whole day was ruined becuase of emerald eyes and awkward giggles.

Katsuki rolled his eyes and squared his shoulders as he walked past the nerd, purposely bumping shoulders with him. He hit the shorter boy, hard, making him stumble and his conversation stop with Half and Half.

"Watch where you're going, fucking Deku," He growled before storming off.

He watched the idiot's face fall as he left but he didn't care. Someone needed to put that motherfucker in his place. He was too arrogant, too happy, too genuine.

Soon enough, lunch came around and his friends sat at their usual table and for a moment, Katsuki thought they forgot about inviting that stupid nerd to sit with him. That's was until Sero caught sight of him across the cafeteria.

"Hey, Midoriya, over here!" He beckoned.

Katsuki groaned as the nerd's face lit up and he came scurrying towards therm, clearly going too fast for his own good.

"Hey Bakubro, you good?" Kirishima asked from his right, clearly having heard his noise of discontent.

"Fine," He growled out but was startled by a sharp thud from behind him.

Everyone turned around and saw as Midoriya had pathetically face planted on the ground.

A couple nearby tables noticed too and began to laugh at the sight. Katsuki rolled his eyes as the idiot slowly got to his knees.

Kaminari began to snicker too until Mina elbowed his ribs and rushed over to the boy on the floor.

"Hey, Izuku, you okay?" She asked, helping him up.

The nerd smiled again despite the idiocy of the situation, "Yeah, fine," He chuckled as Mina brought hi to the table.

His freckles stood out due to the red covering his cheeks. "That was embarrassing,"

"Hey, s'alright. We've all been there, right?" Kirishima grinned.

The group mumbled their agreements before turning back to the boy of the hour.

"So, Midobro, Where'd you move from?" Kirishima asked.

His brow furrowed a bit at the nickname, "Uh, I used to go to Shiketsu High,"

Kaminari gasped, "That's like the best school in the city, why the hell did you move?"

"Ah, my dad's job we move around a lot," He explained, awkwardly rubbing his neck.

"Wait if you went to Shiketsu, you must be super smart," sero concluded.

Midoriya chuckled, "I don' t know about all of that."

"Nah, you're totally clever, you're in all of Bakugo's classes after all," Kirishima said, jabbing a thumb at Katsuki.

The blond gave the redhead a glare before tutting, "The nerd's not all that. You don't gotta be smart to do AP Chemistry, it's common sense,"

Midoriya awkwardly laughed, "Yeah but I've seen you in class, you never get a question wrong, I think you must just be intelligent,"

Katsuki scowled at the other boy, ignoring him. The air shifted by Katsuki didn't care. This nerd needed to be put in his place and since he was the only one who saw what a n asshole the greenette was, he'd be the one to do it.

Luckily, Mina quickly picked up conversation, asking Midoriya what girls he found cute and Katsuki was able to zone out again and focus and eating lunch.

That's was until, the group began to talk amongst themselves and Katsuki felt a pair of eyes on him.

He looked up and sure enough, the nerd was looking at him like Katsuki was a tiger at the zoo.

He raised a brow but the idiot wasn't deterred he offered Katsuki a close lipped smile before tuning in whatever bizarre story Mina was telling.

So Katsuki let it slide and half listened to Shitty Hair's ideas about the new formation in Football until it happened again. And again. It was like the nerd couldn't keep his eyes to himself.

"Hey, Deku, you got a staring problem?" Katsuki spat, abruptly.

The table went silent.

Midoriya looked around the table for who Katsuki was talking to, like an idiot, since it was obvious that he was talking to him.

"Hey, 'Deku' is a little rude, don't you think?" Kirishima tried but Katsuki was still glaring at the greenette.

"Oh! Izuku, Katsuki's got all these nicknames for us. I think it's his love language since he can't really show positive emotions," she joked making everyone chuckle, "So, I'm Pinky, Kirishima's Shitty Hair, Kaminari's Dunce or Sparky, Sero's Soysauce and now I guess you're Deku,"

"Doesn't Deku mean useless?" Kaminari asked looking up from his Nintendo.

"Obviously," Katsuki smirked, "It's why it suits the nerd so much with the way he tripped over earlier," He said, folding his arms smugly.

Katsuki waited, eagerly, excitedly for the anger to cross Deku's face for everyone to see that this kind, nice, humble act was all just a facade.

But to his absolute shock and horror, the fucking nerd smiled.

"Well I like Deku," He concluded with a grin, "It kinda sound like 'You can do it'"

Katsuki clenched his jaw to keep it from dropping as his friends cooed over the other boy.

After that, Katsuki kept his distance from Deku, as much as he could anyways thanks to his fucking friend group. They consistently invited him over on the school grounds or in the cafeteria, he was inescapable.

But as the weeks passed, something within Katsuki had changed.

When he saw Deku he wasn't filled with rage or annoyance he felt...calmer. As if he was getting used to the other's presence.

As much as he hated to say it, Deku was pretty smart and sporty too since he quickly got recruited for the soccer team and as time went on, Katsuki was finding less and less reasons to hate him.

Deku kept his distance from Katsuki but never hesitated to invite him to the conversation or walk with him in the halls.

Deku seemed to be the only one who was able to keep up with Katsuki's quick insults and was never offended by any constant jabs.

It annoyed him to no end. Deku was actually becoming bearable. Katsuki was no longer opposed to his presence.

And then something terrible happened.

It was one school morning. Kirishima was talking to him about some murder that had recently happened in the neighbourhood and Katsuki was only half paying attention.

They were heading to morning practice for the Football team. The two of them slipped into the changing room and Katsuki made a beeline for the cubicle, Kirishima going into the one next door.

And instead of being empty, there stood a short boy with a toned shirtless back and thick thighs on bare legs.

Deku whipped around in surprise, gasping as he grabbed a shirt to cover himself, "B-bakugo!" He squeaked out.

Katsuki blinked once before slamming the door as he left.

Kirishima gave him a look which Katsuki ignored as he slipped into the next cubicle.

"Hey, Midobro, is that you?"

"Uh, yeah, hi Kirishima," They fell into easy conversation between cubicles while Katsuki put his head in his hands.

He couldn't get the image out of his mind. Deku had looked...hot.

A toned, muscled back and thick, meaty thicks. Not to mention, that ass. He had been wearing boxers but they didn't leave much to the imagination.

Katuski had found people attractive before. Tits, ass, dick, pussy. It was early in his life that he realised he didn't have a preference, mainly thanks to Kaminari and his early introduction to porn as a teen.

But instead of simply looking attractive, he realised that Deku was attractive. He could imagine the nerd on his knees, plump pink lips around his cock or rubbing their dicks together. The thought made his groin hot and his stomach clench.

Katsuki gasped out a breath. Fuck. What was this? He'd never felt like this before.

Before he could even think, he was taking his dick out and stroking it as fast he could, eager to get this over with and quell his horniness.

He came with a silent cry, the thought of Deku's thighs in his mind as he shook through his orgasm.

Katsuki hummed as silently as possible, aware of the two boys in the cubicle next door to him, one of them he'd just cum to thinking about.

"Hey, Bakubro, you good?" Kirishima asked and Katsuki guessed that Deku had left.

The blond let out a breath, "Yeah,"

"Was Midobro changing in there?" He asked.

"Yup," katsuki groaned.

"Huh, thats weird," Shitty Hair mused, "The Soccer team don't have morning practice this week,"

Now that made Katsuki frown.

When Kirishima had left the cubicle, already changed and ready for Football, Katsuki was behind him.

But he stopped when he arrived at Deku's cubicle. The blond opened the door gently finding it completely empty save for a forgotten glove under the bench.

Katsuki's vrow furrowed in confusion and before he could think the better of it, he slipped it into his pocket.

After that, Katsuki kept an eye on Deku. Not in a creepy way. Just...curious.

He and nerd were now on speaking terms(they never spoke of the changing rooms incident), albeit it was small conversation, always initiated by Deku and about small topics. But Katsuki could begrudingly admit that Deku was slowly becoming a friend. Part of the group.

That didn't stop him from being suspicious of Deku. Suspicious of how quickly he left after school let out. Suspicious of how Aizawa almost always asked yo speak with him after homeroom. Suspicious of how no one knew where Deku lived

So on a spur of spontaneity, Katsuki decided to follow him home. Not in a creepy way.

Katsuki wasn't stalking him. He was simply curious.

Deku walked home, like Katsuki and most people in this town but kept his distance.

The streets were pretty crowded now that school had let out so he wasn't spotted very easily.

He kept an eye on Deku and another eye on the way that they were going.

Katsuki hadn't been to the south side of the town before. It was the poorer part of town and Katsuki's family was pretty well off.

Deku kept walking at a sharp speed, not looking at his surroundings rather he kept checking his watch, as if he was nervous about being late for something.

Katsuki hung back, not wanting to be caught but Deju kept taking such sharp turns, he kept losing him.

They'd been walking for ages now, it was beginning to get late as the sky began to darken.

A part of Katsuki wanted to call it a day and head home rather than be out in the cold. But he wasn't a quitter. He didn't want all this effort to be for nothing. So he gritted his teeth and sped up as Deku turned yet another corner.

He followed and was met with near darkness. There were no streetlamps here. Just the dim, milky light of the moon, covering the alley in a small glow.

Katsuki squinted into the darkness only to find that Deku was gone. He blinked as if that would make the other boy come back but he was truly gone.

The blond swore. How had he lost the boy? There was clearly something weird going on and Katsuki really hadn't gotten to the bottom of it.

He was ready to turn in his heel and go but so thing caught his eye. In the darkness, he saw the outline of a door on the furthest wall of the alley.

Katsuki earlier strode towards it, pulling it open slightly and let put a relieved breath when it didn't break.

He slipped inside and realised that it was a garden. He was standing in Deku's garden right now.

He swore and dove I to the corner as he looked up the house before him. The windows were all dark, it looked lifeless. Even so, he crept along the wall until he made it to the back door. He reached out to open it just as the door began to jingle.

Katsuki froze as he realised that it was being unlocked from the inside. He slipped into a dark corner and held his breath as the door opened.

Deku stepped out. This time not wearing his uniform or obnoxiously bright yellow backpack.

He was wearing a black hoodie and black joggers, a small satchel was around his body as he briskly began striding back into the garden and out of the back door.

Katsuki frowned checking the time. It was really late. What kind of parents let their kid out at this time?

Even so, Katsuki crept behind Deku, noticing that he'd now pulled up his hood. He followed carefully, without the guise of the public heading home, it was a lot harder not to get caught.

There were a couple times that Deku would look over his shoulder and Katsuki would dice behind a wall to hide.

It kept his heart pumping in his chest and his palms sweating.

Finally, Deku came to a destination. A house in the west side of town that Katsuki didn't visit much but knew that this was where Sero's family restaurant was.

Katsuki hid behind the hedge as Deku knocked on the door to the house. Katsuki didn't see who opened it but they let Deku in surprisingly easily.

The blond frowned. Deku had only gotten to the town just over a month ago. Who did he know that would let him into their house this late at night?

Carefully, Katsuki crept to the window of the house. The curtains were open so he quickly realised that it was the living room he was peeking into.

There was a lone lamp on, casting the room in a pale orange light, barely light enough to see inside. So Katsuki took a chance and pressed his face against the window.

Adrenaline pumped in his veins as he watched Deku walk into the room. His face was so surprising it sent a jolt through Katsuki's body. He looked different, not wearing his usual smile. He didn't look angry or sad, just grave.

Kaysuki frowned as he watched the person who owned the house walk in.

It was Coach Todd. He was the Coach for the swim team. He gestured for Deku to sit with an apprehensive expression on his face.

Deku did not sit down instead he said something to the coach which made him angry as he yelled at the boy.

Katsuki froze, wondering if her should go in and intervene. What was Deku doing, showing up to a teacher's house? And what could he have said to make him so angry?

Deku said something back, his back to Katsuki and he couldn't make anything out.

Suddenly, Coach Todd raised a hand and slapped Deku across the face.

Rage bubbled in Katsuki as he rose to his feet, hands clenched and ready to storm into the house and beat the living shit out of the teacher when something else happened.

It was so fast that if Katsuki wasn't glaring he would've missed it.

Deku took his hand out of his pocket and metal gleamed in the moonlight as a knife found its way into the Coach's chest.

His face contorted in pain as he stared at Deku in shock, then horror. Deku ripped the knife out before diving it back in again and again before leaving it there.

Katsuki watched in horror as Deku panted and Coach Todd's body crumpled on the ground, blood bubbling at his lips.

He was frozen in both fear and shock when Deku turned around.

The shorter boy started at him for a moment with wide eyes and crimson blood splattered on his pale cheek before he broke out into one of his award winning smiles.

"Kacchan!"
