My dear Fina,
A lot has happened since you left.
When you left and left me that letter, I thought I was going to die.
For a moment, I couldn’t breathe, and I felt such a sharp pain in my chest that I thought it was the end.
I was okay with that, since you were no longer by my side.
I drowned my sorrows in alcohol and then work, but thanks to Andres and Carmen, I gradually found my way back.
And then there was Cloe.
When you wrote me that letter, you asked me not to wait for you and to rebuild my life as if you had never existed.
I tried so hard to forget you; by her side, I found peace.
For a while, I was convinced that you were part of my past and that I had managed to forget you, but with each passing day, I can’t stop thinking about you, about us.
About what we were and what we could have been.
Fina,
I don’t know where you are, but with every passing day I miss you a little more.
I wonder how you’re doing and where you are.
I hope that wherever you are, you’re happy and that you’ve found the peace you were seeking when you left.
