Lie An Omega To Rest

Summary:

“C’mon. You’re the sweetest omega in the pack. What’s going on?”

Fine, his omega whines. Because he looks so sincere. Like he cares, “I don’t know how to nest.”

Bakugou’s head cocks to the side, brow raising, “what?”

In which, Kirishima doesn’t know how to nest and Bakugou helps him out a bit.

Notes:

Uhhh…I started this on my lunch and finished this in the middle of the night..before i absolutely passed out from exhaustion.

I also just wanted to write Kirishima as an omega. Because he deserves to be an omega too.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Eijirou was one of the very few blessed with two alpha parents. What are the odds that he’s an omega when he presents? Pretty low, but it’s okay. It’s fine.

All until he’s restless and sensitive to scents. And is told he probably just needs to nest, get comfortable in scents of his peers.

And that would never be a problem if he had a parent that showed him how to nest.

But he doesn’t.

Because he’s been blessed with alpha parents.

They don’t need to nest their babies how omega parents would. Sure, he was swaddled and slept in the bed with them until he was seven, but beating wasn’t necessary to them. So he never learned.

So here he is in his dorm room, pushing shirts and blankets and jackets and—Eijirou’s getting restless.

Everything feels wrong.

At first he builds everything up. Surrounds his mattress with the blankets and leaving the middle bare—for your information: it doesn’t work. It smelled wrong, felt like a cage. Eijirou hates it. So he lies blankets and used t-shirts in the middle—wrong. It smells off and is missing something and isn’t comfortable.

So he tries to think of what Denki’s nest looks like, or Todoroki’s—though he can’t quite remember Todoroki’s, he knows Denki’s is just a fine layer of clothes beneath his sheets with pieces from himself, Bakugou, Sero, and Mina. And others, but it’ll be a lost cause trying to remember every scent in Denki’s nest.

But that doesn’t work for Eijirou either.

Now he can’t smell anything. It’s too dull and just not right or perfect and—Eijirou’s omega whimpers.

Because why can’t he figure it out? Was nesting this hard for everyone? Eijirou wants to give up.

Three knocks on his door calls his attention back to the room and his failed attempts of nesting. “Oi, open the fuck up. I know you’re in there.” He whines, crosses his arms and stays put. No, he doesn’t want an alpha in his room, judging his fucked up attempt of a nest.

And then it’s Bakugou. The one alpha he wants to make proud. The only alpha that makes his omega swoon and hang off of him like a leech. Pack alpha, yes, but so his. He can’t see Eijirou like this.

Three more knocks, “I can smell you from out here. Let me in or I’m going to break down your damn door.” Eijirou whimpers again. Because he knows Bakugou will and he doesn’t need another detention for damages like when he blew a hole in the walls of the common room fighting with Midoriya.

But the idea of him seeing his piss poor attempt at nesting actually might actually has Eijirou considering good options.

But still, he gets up and he cracks it open. There waiting, is furious red eyes with furrowed brows. Eijirou’s eye peaks out, sad and in distress. “Can I help you?”

“Yes yo- why the fuck do you smell like a god damn thunderstorm? What is going on in this room? We can smell you in the elevator.” Oh, Eijirou flushes. He didn’t know. He was just- “oi,” Eijirou’s head snaps up at him. The furious look is gone. His eyes have softened, lips turned down in a frown. “What’s going on with you? Let me in.”

“No! I mean—I’ve just been cleaning. It’s a real mess in here. I’ll be fine.” He tries his usual smile but it doesn’t reach his eyes. His lip twitches, just waiting for Bakugou to believe him so he can figure out this stupid nest thing and go lie down.

“No, somethings wrong. I know you, dumbass. So let me in and we can figure it out together.” Oh, right. Pack alphas and their knowing everything about everything. “C’mon. You’re the sweetest omega in the pack. What’s going on?”

Fine, his omega whines. Because he looks so sincere. Like he cares, “I don’t know how to nest.”

Bakugou’s head cocks to the side, brow raising, “what?”

“I was stressed and went to Recovery Girl, remember? She asked me did I have a nest and I said no, never needed one. So she told me that maybe I just need to nest…but I didn’t- my parents are alphas, so they don’t necessarily do it. I wasn’t in a nest, they let me sleep in their bed. That’s it. So I don’t know what I needand everything I’ve tried is wrong and—“

“Kiri,” he cuts in, catching his attention, “shut the fuck up.” But it’s soft and he pushes back on the door that Eijirou’s using to block him, “just let me help you.”

His omega softens, alpha so nice. If he had ears, they’d lie flat on his head. Fine, and he backs up, letting the alpha in.

And he’s welcomed into a disaster. Sheets off the bed, clothing of various pack members on the floor and in a pile, pillows ascew. But Bakugou’s a nice alpha, he doesn’t even comment on it. He just comes in and looks around for a while, staring with his hands on his hips.

Bakugou’s a special alpha. He’s born of two omega parents, though it’s confirmed one of his birth parents is an alpha—and therefore, Katsuki has three parents— they’re not in the picture. So when he’s asked, “what kinds of nest did you try?” Eijirou does get slightly confused.

“What do you mean?” He asks, rocking back on his heels.

“Different omegas take to different nesting styles. My parents do the barricade way, Spark Plug treats it like a mattress pad, Tiger Patch has nesting items stuffed in a pillow case and sleeps with it. What’d you try?” He explains. Eijirou never knew there wasn’t a set way to nest. He didn’t know all omegas have a different way to prefer their nest.

“Mattress pad style and the like… raised barricade style.” He admits and rubs his arm, “but it didn’t work. It just made it worse. Like I was more focused on the nest than feeling better.”

“Okay, so start over.” He answers with a shrug, “you tried ways you’ve seen everyone else has done. That doesn’t mean that you can’t or fucking suck at nesting.”

“I never said-“

“So what I want you to do,” he continues, a hand on his hip, “I want you to relax. Take five deep breaths, and then I want you to get on that damn bed and do what feels right.”

“What do you mean?” He asks, staring down at his feet. Because this is where Bakugou would call him a dumbass and ask what kind of omega is he. “I mean like what if-“

“You’re thinking too much. You’re gonna hurt yourself there, crybaby.” He teases. Normally, he’d laugh. He’d chuckle a little and call him silly, but now he’s just- “breathe, omega.” He sighs, hand coming up to his wrist and brushing his wrist alongside Eijirou’s wrist.

He always smells so good trying to relax them. Like a candle. Eijirou sighs, his eyes fluttering and shoulders relaxing, “deep breathes for me, baby.” That’s new. Bakugou doesn’t call them sweet nicknames, not any that don’t pertain to an attribute they have. Denki’s quirk, Eijirou’s sensitivity, Mina’s skin, Sero’s facial features.

But he doesn’t say anything. Just takes the deep breaths as he was told, in through his nose, out through his mouth.

It might take up too much time, but Bakugou doesn’t complain. “Better?” Eijirou nods. Yeah, he’s better. “Now, go do what feels right.” He shoves Eijirou by his shoulder.

For a while, he stands at the foot of his bed, upset because everything is tore off and it’s bare. So the first thing he does, he puts the sheet back on. That’s right, it’s beginning to get better. His pillows gets placed a fair space away from the wall before he bunches up the scented blanket he got from Denki a few weeks back. He places it against the wall, then another, unrolling it halfway before he tucks it underneath.

He keeps going, tucking items from Bakugou and Mina, Sero, his mother’s. Before he throws his comforter over them and trills. It’s small, compact, only takes up the smallest section of his bed, but it’s perfect.

Eijirou claps, his scent calming and sinking down into the floor to look at it a bit more. Yes perfect, his omega chirps, you did it! It’s the best! Get in!

His scent goes oceanic, how it’s supposed to be. Skin no longer boiling, his pupils coming back down to normal eyes, his heart calming down and no longer racing. It’s so perfect. Eijirou’s omega howls at the need to get in.

The sudden alpha pheromones reminds him that Bakugou is behind him. Slowly, he turns, cheeks tinted in a blush that was almost as dark as his hair, “‘m done!”

This is where the alpha would inspect the nest. Say it’s perfect, they did good. Pups would be conceived happily in this nest. But instead he says, “get in and see if you’re comfortable.”

What-, “but aren’t you supposed to-“

“I’m not your alpha, Kiri. All that matters to me is that your omega relaxes in that nest. If she does, then it’s perfect.” Right, Eijirou’s omega whines. Bakugou isn’t their alpha. The omega doesn’t like that either, but it’s okay. Because he shouldn’t be so selfish with such a good alpha. The entire class deserves such contact with the most perfect alpha. He whines like a kicked puppy.

Yet still, Bakugou helps him into his nest, lets him snuggle as deep in there as possible and peaks over into the hole to get a good look at the omega.

And then they both hear it: the purring. It almost scares Eijirou with how deep it is, and strong. It sounds like Eijirou’s been purring for a long time, not for the third time ever.

“You did a wonderful job, omega.” The purrs get louder, stronger. So thick and heavy, so happy.

Suddenly his head snaps up, still missing something. Something important.

“Will you come in?” He pleads, lip in a pout, eyes shining bright. It’s quiet, like he had to think before a soft smile comes across his face.

“Yeah, I’ll come in.” He answers and steps up onto the mattress, squeezing into the small space that is Eijirou’s nest. Maybe he should make it a little wider for the alpha.

Or not.

He likes being this close.

Eijirou rests his head against Bakugou’s shoulder at the same time that a hand tacks onto his waist.

It’s so quiet and calm, Eijirou likes it. He wants to doze off just a little, still purring and holding onto Bakugou’s shirt. “This is a burrow.” He says randomly, softly, a hand brushing up the back of his shirt, “I heard Aizawa-sensei has this kind of nest too.”

“It’s nice,” Eijirou whispers, rubbing his cheek against the soft fabric of his shirt, “so up close.”

“The most cuddly omega I know.” Bakugou teases, pulling him a little closer. Anything to make this omega happy. Bakugou’s always been like that. Doing anything for any omega he knows, but going the extra mile for Eijirou.

It makes his omega preen, head tilted up in pride. Happy. That he could get an alpha strong enough to be a pack alpha, to be at her beck and call. Sometimes they giggle about it and sometimes they want to strike his hair and call him the best alpha.

Pefect alpha! Mineminemine!! Sometimes he has to ignore her. Because for weeks since Eijirou’s last heat, his omega has been clawing for Bakugou to be theirs. And it’s not fair, but trying to be reasonable. Bakugou’s never said anything about wanting any omega. And Eijirou and his omega is far from on his radar.

Yes, he respects that Eijirou thinks his omega is a girl, and yes, Bakugou lets him cuddle as deep into his side as much as he wants because it makes him happy, and yes, Bakugou keeps snacks in his own room for the omega in the middle of the night so he doesn’t have to make that treacherous travel to the kitchen—just for the omega to crawl into his bed sleepily and snore in his ear all night.

But that doesn’t mean Bakugou wants him.

“Okay, Crybaby,” Bakugou huffs, getting restless beside the omega, “I gotta go. I’ll be back to check-“

“No!” He whines wrapping his arms around Bakugou, “stay, please? ‘m not comfortable yet and you’re pack alpha that means I’ll need you. Is it important?”

It’s quiet for a whole before he sighs, giving in to his shiny, weary eyes. Eijirou’s good at those, “I guess beating the hell out of Icy Hot can wait.” He sighs and Eijirou’s omega chirps. Mine!! My alpha. Such a good strong alpha!

Eijirou blushes a little. Because, yeah, Eijirou wouldn’t mind having Bakugou as his alpha. He’s so sweet to him, so nice. Helps Eijirou even if he doesn’t need help. Scents him after a nightmare and lets him stink up the alpha’s den when he’s in heat and doesn’t want to be alone.

And maybe yeah, he does want to kiss him. Bakugou has the prettiest plush pink lips with a little cupid’s bow. He just wants to feel him against his own slightly bitten ones. Just once. Please, cries his omega.

“You wanna kiss me, huh?” He hears from above, his cheeks going red. “You talk when you’re too in your head. Is that what you’ve been thinking about? Me kissing you?”

“Yeah,” he whispers, his own bottom lip being tucked behind his teeth, “I do.” Bakugou kisses his forehead all the time. His and Mina’s, actually. Before bedtime, just because they beg for it. Every night. ”One kiss Baku, please, please, please,” and him grumpily yelling, ”fine! If you shut the fuck up you’ll get your fucking kiss!” Except Eijirou never asks for a kiss from Denki and Sero like Mina. He just…doesn’t.

“Oi,” Eijirou looks up at Bakugou, head tilting all he way back and it happens so fast, Eijirou’s not even sure if it’s real.

Bakugou’s lips are pressed against his. As soft as he imagined, so plush they push his lips back. And Eijirou’s eyes flutter shut. Yes, yes! Alpha so gentle!! Ours!! Our mate!!

And then it’s over.

And Eijirou’s eyes well up with tears, “I-“

“You better not cry,” he scolds, and coming up to his cheek.

“But you’re so nice and- and-,” he sniffles, sitting up and changes his position so he’s straddling him, “I got you in my nest and I don’t want you to leave. I want you to be my alpha and stay in my nest forever. But you want to go alpha somewhere else and that’s so manly and I’m happy for you but I want you all to myself and our pack.”

“Stupid crybaby,” he insults, yanking him down and giving him a tight hug, “you’re dumber than I thought.”

“I’m pouring out my heart-“

“Whatever. Bask in your kiss.” He said, cheeks tinted a light pink.

Eijirou wants to fight it, wants to ask what he meant. But Bakugou smells so good, so soft with him. He buries his face in his neck and ignores what his omega is telling him.

But Eijirou has a little party trick. Something that’ll make Bakugou see that he wants it again. “Hey, Katsuki,” he calls out. Possibly shocking the alpha, “can I have this shirt before you go?” Yes, yes! Use mine, alpha! Use mine!

It’s quiet, Bakugou’s hands going still in his back. Not long, though, because then he kisses his teeth and a low rumble sounds in his chest, “yeah, Ei. Whatever you want, crybaby omega.”

And that’s all the conformation Eijirou ever needed.

This alpha is mine.
