Chapter Text
Kenna slowly stumbles out of the bed, hair flicking against her collarbone as she rises.
It was 6:48am, so she was right on time.
Kenna had been living on her own for a while now, about eight months. But those months had been some of her most enjoyable! Sure… their room was a mess, she hadn't been shopping in weeks, and they were there illegaly, but still! Better than with her petty mom, right?
She was living in a small apartment complex off the side of a random road. It was a 23 minute walk to school, 10 minutes from the gas station, and 26 from the grocery store. There was some other stuff too but none of it was interesting.
They could only stay here because her friend, Reed, was staying here and put in good word for her.
He's a good guy.
Kenna dressed slowly, same outfit as usual. Who knew somebody had twelve white tank tops and 6 denim skirts that they could donate to Goodwill?
And then it was off to school.
Reed was only a year older than her, but couldn't go to school because of his condition. She felt bad. Not because he can't go to school, obviously, but because of his illness.
Levi was going to meet up with her halfway to the school, since her house was on Kenna's route.
Levi was also a nice girl, a bit of a crybaby if anything. That's alright though.
I wonder how she's doing right now.
Levi was… Well with Reed's condition and all she was going through some stuff. Not… Coping well, if you wanna say that. Honestly? None of her friends coped well with anything.
Kenna wasn't one to judge though. Not at all.
Kenna shrugged to herself before getting slapped on the back of her head.
"HEY! What the-"
She turned to see Levi grinning and chuckling
"Gotcha!"
She looks happy today. Not a drugged up kinda happy either. That's good.
Kenna snickered and shoved her friend playfully.
Jeez, how long had I been walking?
Well whatever.
Her and Levi walked off to school, laughing like little kids would.
