Enigma's MATES

Summary:

The world ruled by power and instinct, mates are absolute.
Kim Taehyung. An enigma. Rare. Powerful. Unpredictable.
Already bound to Jeon Jungkook, a true-blood omega known for his beauty and strength. Their bond is deep. Possessive. Or at least… it was.
Because the moment Jeon Guk, Jungkook’s twin, enters their world— Everything changes.
A second bond forms. Uninvited. Impossible.
The pull is strong. Not weaker. Equal.
Guk isn’t weak. He doesn’t beg or step back. What he feels is real.
Jungkook doesn’t give up either. He loves deeply. Fiercely.
And Taehyung… Is caught in between.
Two bonds. Two truths. Two hearts that feel like his.
But this cannot exist. The world doesn’t allow it. Nature doesn’t allow it. Not even an enigma can have two mates.
Then why does his soul accept both?
And deeper than that… Why does it feel less like something new?
Why does he feel complete with both?
Somewhere in the past, there is a truth. Something never told.
This bond was not created now. It was broken before.
Maybe… It was never meant to be two.
Because some souls aren’t shared.
They’re divided.

Chapter 1: Part 1

Chapter Text

Morning light slipped through the curtains.

The room was quiet.

Peaceful.

Jungkook stirred slightly—

Only to feel warmth tighten around him.

Taehyung.

An arm wrapped securely around his waist, face buried in the crook of his neck, breathing slow and deep.

Clingy.

As always.

Jungkook smiled faintly.

“Taehyung…” he murmured, voice still heavy with sleep.

“We’re going to be late.”

“No,” Taehyung mumbled against his skin, tightening his hold.

“We’re not going anywhere.”

Jungkook let out a soft breath, amused.

“You said that yesterday too.”

“And we were still fine,” Taehyung replied, not even opening his eyes.

Jungkook turned slightly in his arms, now facing him.

Up close...

Taehyung looked softer.

Less like the feared Enigma everyone respected.

More like… just his.

“Get up,” Jungkook whispered, brushing his fingers lightly through Taehyung’s hair.

Taehyung finally opened his eyes.

Dark.

Heavy.

Focused only on him.

“Say it properly,” he murmured.

Jungkook frowned. “Say what...”

Before he could finish,

Taehyung pulled him closer suddenly.

Their faces inches apart.

“Good morning,” Taehyung said softly.

Jungkook’s breath hitched.

“…good morning.”

That was all it took.

Taehyung leaned in..

Closing the distance.

The kiss was slow.

Unhurried.

Familiar.

Not desperate.

Not rushed.

Just… theirs.

When they pulled back,

Taehyung rested his forehead against Jungkook’s.

“Now I can get up.”

Jungkook rolled his eyes....but his cheeks were slightly flushed

They weren’t just students.

They were power.

Kim Taehyung

  • Enigma
  • Dominant
  • Heir of Kim Multinational
  • Feared. Respected. Desired.
  • And completely devoted to one person(may become 2 in future)

Jeon Jungkook

  • True Blood Omega
  • Brat
  • Heir of Jeon Industries
  • Sharp. Intelligent. Untouchable.
  • And only soft for one person

They weren’t just lovers.

They were mates.

Fiancés.

A union decided by both fate… and business.

The Jeons and Kims.

Two empires.

One future.

And at the center of it ,

Taehyung and Jungkook.

The noise of the canteen faded the moment they walked in.

Eyes followed.

Whispers started.

Because everyone knew them.

Taehyung walked in first.

Jungkook right beside him.

Untouchable.

Until,

“Hey, Jungkook!”

An unfamiliar alpha approached.

Smiling.

Too friendly.

Jungkook paused politely, exchanging a few words.

Simple.

Normal.

But across the room—

Taehyung’s expression darkened.

By the time they reached their usual table—

The air around him had changed.

Cold.

Jungkook noticed instantly.

“Why are you glaring like that?”

Taehyung leaned back in his chair, arms crossed.

“You seemed comfortable talking to him.”

Jungkook blinked. “He just asked about notes.”

“And you smiled.”

“…what?”

Taehyung’s gaze sharpened.

“I don’t like it.”

There it was.

Possessiveness.

Jungkook sighed softly.

“Taehyung...”

“No,” Taehyung cut in, voice low.

“You’re mine. Behave like it.”

Silence.

Anyone else would’ve been intimidated.

But Jungkook?

He smirked slightly.

Without a word...

He stood up.

Walked around the table.

And then......

Sat directly on Taehyung’s lap.

The entire table went quiet.

Taehyung stiffened.

“Jungkook.....w-what are you...”

“Shh,” Jungkook whispered, leaning closer.

He picked up a piece of food

And held it near Taehyung’s lips.

“Eat.”

Taehyung didn’t move.

Just stared at him.

Jungkook tilted his head slightly, eyes soft but teasing.

“Or are you still mad?”

That tone..

That look..

Dangerous.

Taehyung’s grip instinctively tightened around Jungkook’s waist.

Jungkook leaned in a little more.

Close enough for only him to hear,

“I only smile like that for you.”

That did it.

Taehyung took the bite.

But his eyes never left Jungkook’s.

“You think this will fix it?” he murmured.

Jungkook smiled faintly.

“Isn’t it working?”

A pause.

Then,

Taehyung pulled him even closer.

“It is,” he admitted quietly.

Jungkook’s fingers lightly traced his shoulder.

Slow.

Intentional.

And just like that.

The anger melted.

Not because it disappeared.

But because Jungkook knew exactly how to handle him.

And Taehyung?

He let him.

Every single time.

Because at the end of the day

No matter how possessive he got…

Jungkook was still the only one who could calm him.

The drive back home from college was quieter than usual.

Taehyung’s hand rested on Jungkook’s thigh.

Possessive.

Comforting.

Jungkook leaned back in his seat, eyes half-closed, still feeling the warmth of earlier.

The way Taehyung had held him.

Looked at him.

Everything felt…ecstatic.

Until..

Buzz.

Jungkook’s phone lit up.

A message.

Unknown number.

“I’m coming back today… kookah.”

Jungkook froze.

His fingers tightened slightly around the phone.

Taehyung noticed instantly.

“What happened?”

Jungkook didn’t reply immediately.

His gaze stayed fixed on the screen.

Then quietly..

“Gukk.”

A pause.

“He’s coming back today.”

Taehyung’s grip on him loosen  for a second.

Just a second.

Then it tightened again.

“Hmm,” he hummed, expression unreadable.

But something about the air shifted.

Very slightly.

Very quietly.

Jeon–Kim Mansion

The moment they stepped inside.

Taehyung didn’t wait.

He grabbed Jungkook’s Wrist , pulled him along And the next second.

Jungkook was pinned against the couch.

A soft gasp escaped him.

“Taehyung—”

But Taehyung didn’t answer.

Instead

He buried his face into Jungkook’s neck.

Inhaling deeply.

Slow.

Possessive.

Like he was memorizing him.

“Mine…” he murmured under his breath.

Jungkook’s fingers slid into his hair instinctively.

“Always,” he whispered back.

The moment was soft

Intimate

Safe

Until

“Ahem.”

Both froze.

Taehyung lifted his head slowly.

Standing at the other side of couch was

Mrs. Jeon. The step mom

Her expression?

Bored.

Unimpressed.

“Jungkook,” she said flatly, “your useless brother is coming back.”

Silence.

Jungkook’s entire expression changed.

Cold.

Sharp.

“He’s not useless.”

Her brows lifted slightly.

Before she could respond..

Another voice joined.

“HE IS,if only he wasn’t.”

Mr. Jeon.

He walked in beside her, adjusting his watch.

Eyes scanning Jungkook...

Then Taehyung.

“If he had even half your value,” he continued, tone calculated,

“power, presence… something worth investing in—”

Jungkook’s jaw tightened.

“I would’ve arranged his marriage with the Min family by now,” Mr. Jeon added, almost casually.

“Our business would’ve grown twice over.”

A pause.

Then a scoff.

“But that boy…” he shook his head slightly.

“No power. No appeal. Nothing useful.”

Jungkook’s hands curled into fists.

“And you,” Mr. Jeon’s tone shifted—slightly softer, but no less controlling as he looked at Taehyung,

“should stop delaying things.”

Taehyung’s gaze turned cold.

“It’s been a year since you both recognized each other as mates,” Mr. Jeon continued.

“Omegas are meant to be marked. Settled. Secured.”

The implication hung heavy in the air.

Jungkook stepped forward instantly.

“It’s our choice.”

His voice was firm.

Unyielding.

Mr. Jeon opened his mouth ,

But before he could speak,

“Uncle.”

Taehyung’s voice cut through.

Calm.

Controlled.

But laced with quiet authority.

He stood beside Jungkook now.

Close.

Protective.

“With respect,” Taehyung continued, eyes steady,

“my relationship with Jungkook is not a business arrangement.”

Silence.

“And what we choose to do,” he added, tone sharpening slightly,

“or not do… is entirely our decision.”

The air turned tense.

Even Mr. Jeon paused.

Because this wasn’t just anyone speaking.

This was Kim Taehyung.

And he wasn’t someone easily controlled.

Jungkook glanced at him,

Just for a second,

And something inside him softened.

Because no matter what,

Taehyung still stood with him.

Still chose him.

But neither of them noticed,

How fate had already begun moving.

Closer.

With every passing second.

The mansion was quiet.

Too quiet.

The clock struck past midnight.

Jungkook sat in the living room.

Waiting.

Taehyung stood near him, arms crossed

..but his attention wasn’t outside.

It kept drifting back.

To the door.

Something felt off.

Like the air itself was holding its breath.

And then..

The doors opened.

Cold wind rushed in first.

Thenn.

Him.

Jeon Jungguk

  • Omega
  • Quiet. Cold. Guarded. Dominant
  • Sent away to America at 13
  • Raised far from home
  • Unwanted by his own family

Nine years.

Nine years since he last stood here.

He had grown.

Not just taller,

But sharper.

Harder.

His eyes scanned the room,

Landed on Jungkook,

And for a second…

They softened.

“kook…”

Jungkook didn’t hesitate.

He walked forward quickly,

Pulling him into a hug.

“Gukkk…”

This time

Guk hugged back.

But

His eyes?

They weren’t on Jungkook.

They were

Locked on Taehyung.

Wide.

Shining.

Almost… unreal.

Like he had just found something he didn’t even know he was searching for.

His grip around Jungkook tightened

But his lips parted slightly

And in a whisper only he could hear

Mate…”

At the same time

Taehyung froze.

His entire body went still.

Because his wolf

Had just said the same thing.

Mate.

Jungkook pulled back slightly

Unaware.

Guk didn’t move.

Didn’t blink.

Still staring at Taehyung.

Then slowly..

Jungkook stepped aside.

Moving toward Taehyung naturally.

Standing beside him.

Close.

Guk’s gaze flickered between them.

And then..

A small smile formed on his lips.

“You look beautiful, Kook.”

Jungkook blinked—

Then smiled softly.

“You look handsome too, Gukkie.”

For a moment

It felt normal.

Until

Jungkook placed a hand on Taehyung’s arm.

“Meet him…” he added casually,

“this is Taehyung. Your brother-in-law… and my mate.”

Silence.

Gukk’s eyebrows twitched.

Slowly

His gaze shifted back to Taehyung.

Who still hadn’t moved.

Still hadn’t spoken.

Still staring.

And then

Gukk spoke.

He’s my mate.”

The words dropped.

Heavy.

Final.

Jungkook froze.

Then—

He laughed.

Light.

Disbelieving.

“Gukkie…” he shook his head slightly,

“What are you saying?”

A small smile lingered on his lips.

“Stop joking,” he added.

“You know wolves can only have one mate.”

Silence.

But Gukk didn’t smile.

Didn’t laugh.

Didn’t look away.

Before Jungkook could say anything els

Taehyung moved.

His hand found Jungkook’s.

Holding it tightly.

“Bunny…”

That one word...

Already felt wrong.

Jungkook’s heart skipped.

“I…” Taehyung swallowed, eyes still on Guk,

“he’s right.”

Everything stopped.

“I feel it,” Taehyung continued, voice quieter now.

“The same bond… I felt with you… the first time.”

Jungkook’s fingers trembled in his grip.

“No…” he whispered.

Across the room...

Mr. and Mrs. Kim stepped forward.

“Taehyung,” Mrs. Kim said carefully,

“this isn’t possible.”

“No one can have two mates,” Mr. Kim added, his tone firm but controlled.

“Especially not when the first bond is still intact.”

“You must be mistaken,” she continued gently.

“It’s been a long day.”

Her gaze shifted to Gukk.

“Go freshen up,” she said softly.

“I’ve prepared a room for you.”

Then to Taehyung and Jungkook..

“You both should rest too.”

It sounded like a solution.

Like something normal.

But nothing was normal anymore.

Because Gukk didn’t move.

Didn’t nod.

Didn’t agree.

Instead...

He spoke.

Cold.

Clear.

“I’m staying with my alpha.”

A pause.

Then...

“My mate.”

The room froze.

Mr. Jeon let out a harsh scoff.

“And here it starts,” he muttered, voice dripping with disdain.

“Came back after years and already acting shameless like slut, ready to spread his legs .”

His gaze hardened on Guk.

“Claiming an Enigma as his mate?” he sneered.

“Pathetic.”

Silence followed.

Heavy.

Crushing.

Jungkook stood there..

Still holding Taehyung’s hand.

Taehyung’s gaze didn’t leave Guk.

Sharp.

Commanding.

Unquestionable.

“Go and rest ,” he said.

His voice dropped,

Deeper.

Colder.

Dominant.

“Omega.”

Jungkook stiffened instantly, muttering  "Taehyung! "

A glare shot toward Taehyung.

But Guk..

For a split second..

Hesitated.

His jaw clenched.

Eyes flickered with something unreadable.

Yet…

He turned.

And walked away.

Silently.

The control in Taehyung’s vaway,

It worked.

And that fact alone—

Didn’t sit right with Jungkook

That night

No one spoke about it again.

But nothing felt the same.

Taekook’s Room

Jungkook lay pressed against Taehyung’s chest.

As always.

Taehyung’s arm wrapped around him tightly—

Almost possessive.

But his mind?

Not here.

And Jungkook could feel it.

For the first time..

Being this close…

Didn’t feel enough.

Still..

He didn’t move away.

Because losing even this—

Felt terrifying.

Next Morning

Sunlight slipped softly through the curtains.

Jungkook walked into the kitchen..

Half awake.

Hair messy.

Wearing an crop top..

Exposing just enough.

And then he saw

Taehyung.

Shirtless.

Standing by the stove.

Cooking.

Jungkook smiled instantly

Mood lifting without effort.

He hopped onto the kitchen counter

Swinging his legs lazily.

“Wow,” he muttered,

“my enigma boyfriend burning breakfast again.”

Taehyung ignored him.

Jungkook narrowed his eyes.

“ Last time, you burned two pancakes,” he continued dramatically,

“in the name of kissing me.”

Taehyung smirked slightly..

Still not looking at him.

Jungkook leaned forward

Grabbing his face

Pulling him into a quick kiss.

“Focus,” he mumbled against his lips.

Taehyung finally reacted

Hand sliding higher to Jungkook’s waist

Then

A sudden pinch on his nipple.

Jungkook gasped softly

Body jolting.

“Ahh....Taehyung”

His voice dropped unintentionally

Soft.

Breathy.

Taehyung just smirked.

Like nothing happened.

And went back to cooking.

Jungkook glared.

“Idiot.”

A soft cough echoed.

Both turned.

Gukk stood at the entrance.

Loose night clothes.

Hair slightly messy.

Eyes calm.

Unreadable.

He walked in quietly

No greeting.

Just,

Took a glass.

Filled it with water.

Drank.

Didn’t even look at them.

And turned,

To leave.

“Gukk.”

Jungkook’s voice stopped him.

He paused.

“You didn’t say good morning.”

A small silence.

Then,

Without turning,

“Good morning.”

Flat.

Cold.

Jungkook frowned.

He jumped off the counter

Walked up to him

And grabbed his wrist.

“Look at me.”

Guk did.

Slowly.

Jungkook searched his face

Confused.

Concerned.

“What you said last night…” he asked quietly,

“was it true?”

Guk let out a small scoff.

His eyes shifted—

To Taehyung.

Then back to Jungkook.

“Your mate didn’t tell you?”

The way he said it

your mate

Like it didn't stung him .

Jungkook’s grip loosened slightly.

His eyes flickered between them.

Silence stretched.

Then..

Jungkook stepped back.

“Come eat,” he said softly.

“Everyone’s out.”

He forced normalcy.

“Appa and Omma went to Daegu… Mom and Dad are out for date… it’s just us.”

No maids.

No distractions.

Just them.

Jungkook turned..

Busying himself.

Blender on.

Banana milkshake.

Routine.

Something safe.

Behind him...

Taehyung and Guk stood.

Facing each other.

Saying nothing.

But everything was loud.

Taehyung’s eyes traced him—

Carefully.

Slowly.

Soft lips. Slightly dry.

Thin waist. Just like Jungkook's

The only difference between Jungkook & Jungguk

Gukk hasTattooed arms, while Kook has lip piercing.

A presence so different..

Yet pulling him just the same.

And Guk..

Didn’t look away either.

His gaze moved over Taehyung’s body—

Broad shoulders. Hard abs.

Defined muscles.

Bare skin.

Like he was memorizing him.

Like he had already claimed him...

In his mind.

“Idiot.”

A strawberry hit Taehyung’s shoulder.

He blinked.

Snapping out of it.

“Your food is burning again.”

Taehyung turned quickly..

Switching off the stove.

Jungkook rolled his eyes.

But Guk..

For the first time

Smiled.

Soft.

Almost amused.

At Taehyung’s horrified expression.

And that tiny moment..

Did more damage than anyone realized.
