I'm sorry for the bad writing gang, I'm super new to this. Consider this my first BTS fanfic.

Work Text:

The Arirang comeback concert was a blast. Jin felt exhausted yet elated—finally able to perform with the rest of the members on such a historic stage, with thousands of ARMYs cheering them on and vibing together. His heart felt almost full; he just needed one more person to feel complete. Y/N, who was away on a business trip—their own business was thriving—and Jin couldn’t be more proud of such an amazing person who willingly stood by him despite his busy schedule, time zones, and generally heavy workload. To stay with him for years, understanding the distance rather than mistaking it for coldness—he appreciates the warmth of that longing that gets returned, sometimes more than he expects, but always wholeheartedly welcomes it.
With a heavy sigh and goodnights exchanged with the other members as they silently retreat to their own rooms, Jin practically throws himself onto his soft couch and sinks down, debating whether he should just let the couch consume him whole. He lets out a small huff of amusement at his own silly thoughts.
Jin misses Y/N so much that he starts to daydream and can’t hold back from calling them, despite the time difference. When they do pick up, Jin doesn’t expect Y/N to still be awake. He checks the time on his phone—it’s supposed to be 2 a.m. for them. He hesitates, guiltily pressing his lips together as his thumb hovers over the button to hang up—
“Jinnie? Why are you calling me so early? Shouldn’t you be resting Mister?”

Their voice, He swallows down the lump of need in his throat, Jin replies with a breathy chuckle.

“Jagi—Don’t be mad, I just miss you too much.” They respond with a shy laugh, like how they would usually give after Jin stops gawking at Y/N and just blurts out a compliment while making eye contact. Jin really did try to hold back the need in his voice, hearing their voice alone made him feel like his guts are stirring around in a good way. He always feels like a teenager again around them.

Jin wanted to see them so badly, wanting to see their blush. Telling him to stop while covering their face with their hands, their lovely giggles, a pretty wide smile. Jin softly rasps out, “I miss you” Y/N swears they could almost hear Jin pleading through the call, they could not help but hold back a doting squeal of their own.

“One more week Jinnie~ I’ll be seeing you again” They could not hold back the smile in their voice. “That’s too long- I want to be able to see and hug my jagi today” Jin only hears a soft exhale, a flutter in his heart soars to his years of love with their response “I miss you too jagiya~” Jin’s heart melts, cooing softly “aigoo~ i want the days to go faster now.”

They catch up with the events happening around them, until Jin’s line was bought up in a topic, the camera turned on. Facing eachother.

“Which line specifically?” Jin asks, close to disbelief. Hearing their partner gush about their voice is embarrassingly wholesome in a way.
“I think it was that part… uhh- around 1:20 in the song ‘they don’t know ‘bout us’ you were basically serenading in my ear, I swooned listening to it on loop.”
Both share a hearty laugh. “I did see some posts about it in TikTok but I didn't think my partner would be in the same boat about it.” A few minutes of comfortable silence pass by, with a few random questions being answered and questions being returned as well.

Jin lays comfortably on his couch now, despite his arm slowly feeling numb from holding his phone up to see their cute and focused expression as they were typing away on their laptop, their phone was just propped up to the side. Y/N does a quick double take, seeing such a stupid little smile on their phone. “Jinnie? Why are you smiling so much?” Y/N couldn’t help but ask, sporting their own fond smile.

Jin only responds with a small giggle which was contagious enough for y/n to do the same. “You always look so cute when you’re focusing on work.” The fatigue must be catching up with Jin, his soft, fondness now mixing in with his eyes growing heavy.

“You can go to bed Jinnie, I’ll be here when you wake up, just plug your phone, okay?” Y/N sweetly says, urging Jin to head off to rest, he doesn’t question it. Rustling heard on Jin’s head as he shuffles his way to bed and plugs his phone on the nightstand where a phone stand rests, he does angle the camera back to him. Y/N grins as they silently sneak a screenshot of Jin sleeping. “G’night Jinnie~” they softly said, a little hum was given as a reply by Jin. They do keep their promise, He wakes up to see them having dinner.
