Work Text:
4c was never afraid of dying,
at least, that’s what he told himself.
The day he wrote that message, his last words, there’s a reason why his handwriting was worse than it was usually in that parking garage, there’s a reason why there were tear stains on that page, even though Spidey gaslights herself into believing it was just the rain, there’s a reason for everything, isn’t there? He was scared, that’s why.
He just never wanted to admit it.
The gunshot rang in his mind even though he was the one who got his brains blown out, it was quite odd actually. Where was he?
He was is some type of void..? He couldn’t tell but he could faintly hear his best friend, Spidey, sobbing. It wasn’t pleasant, in fact it hurt his chest thinking how he couldn’t do anything to help her.
Blood.
Blood was dripping down his forehead, he can’t remember why.. he wants to- no he needs to get to Spidey. Why can’t he-
Oh.
He’s not dead..- Spidey- she wouldn’t..!
You got shot.
No..! No! I just need to get out of here..! And I’ll be ok..! I just need to-
You got bit, and she killed you because of that.
NO! T-that’s- she wouldn’t-!
You deserved it.
G-GET OUT OF MY HEAD..!
you killed your brother, it’s all your fault David.
SHUT UP!
4c mentally broke down here, sobbing and clutching his bag, he could feel Spidey’s flowers in there. But on the beach, he was already drifting away. His knees gave out, and so did all self control. He felt everything all at once, the sun slowly setting, the pain in his head, the guilt in his heart, the ache in his chest, the yearn throughout his limp body to get back up, and worst of all, the feeling of slowly becoming a corpse.
He was sobbing, he couldn’t breathe. He sobbed with Spidey, even though he was just a dead body on that beach. The once tan sand and white birthday cake was now painted with 4c’s blood, a sick reminder of what happened.
He wished he could hug his family friends again, but everyone knows that a corpse can’t do anything.
He latched his hands over his ears, screams mixed with sobs wouldn’t stop flowing out of his mouth, his hoarse voice making useless noises for help. He was a hyperventilating mess, All that guilt and frustration built up inside someone never ends well. He violently closed his eyes shut, but that didn’t stop the tears from rushing out his eyes, nor the sounds that came out of his mouth.
He needed something to ground himself, something to calm him down, something that lets him be ok. He sweared he could still taste the cake and ice cream in his mouth beyond the bitter taste of his own blood.
Fuck- He can’t do anything.-
He can’t do anything.
He knew this was going to happen, he wrote his last words down on those signs, he didn’t know why he wasn’t prepared. Maybe it was where he was, or who he was with, either way, it didn’t matter anymore.
He dug his nails into his skin, his body already aching with the feeling of dread and sorrow. How can he get out of this- god…- everything just fucking hurts-!
“Hi 4c!”
His tear filled eyes looked up, widening as his eyes adjusted and he saw the figure.
“…Spidey..?”
It wasn’t 4c’s Spidey. He couldn’t make out her face.. she was only around 10 feet away from him, why couldn’t he make out her face…
“Why are you crying! Silly 4c!”
He could barely stand up, his body felt like it was going to fall apart. His tears stained his satchel and his face. His eyes were red from crying so much. His cheeks, red, and his eyes, puffy.
“I..I.”
He choked out a sob and tried to form words, but nothing came out, just pathetic little cries and mumbles.
“It’s good to be with you 4c.”
Spidey walked over to the sobbing mess on the ground, her footsteps, barely being able to be heard by the slime. He felt her arms wrapped around him, it gave him some type of warmth. But for some odd reason it felt.. artificial.
“I-it..s good to (sob) be with you too.. (hic).. Spidey… I-I dont want to… forget you..”
A pause.
“You won’t.”
Before his corpse finally went limp, just barely, the corners of his mouth lifted up. He was happy in his final moments. At least, that’s what he could remember right before he died.
“Goodbye Spidey…”
