“Fuck…!” Bernard yelped, the tightening of the dress’s corset hurting his already bad back. “Stay still.” The other elf said when he tensed up. He just looked up after that, thinking back to what got him in this situation in the first place.
”Curtis, what do you mean a human found out about us!?” He yelled, putting his hands on the smaller elf’s shoulders. “Please don’t pop a blood vessel.” Curtis muttered before speaking up. “I mean exactly that, a human, presumably a researcher, saw one of us and Comet and now is aware of us.” Curtis explained, voice unsteady.
”I…ugh, and the where is this human currently?” He asked, hands balled up into fists. “We don’t know where they currently are but we do know that they are going to a fancy ball later tonight.” Curtis answered. “The council already is sending Frost and he needs another person but the rest of the council is busy so…since you are our next higher up, you should go with him.” Curtis smiled nervously as he spoke.
And that’s how he got into this mess. “All done, you may leave now.” The elf spoke before he immediately sprinted out of there, tripping up sometimes because one of his legs is already injured and he has to wear heels.
He closes the door to his office and sighs. This is stupid, why does he have to go? Being with Frost is nice but he doesn’t even know how to dance without a long dress and heels. The only good part about this is the fact he gets to wear eyeliner, he hasn’t done that since Magnus became Santa.
“Awww! Bernie! You look so pretty.” A voice he identified as Frost cooed, wrapping his cold arms around his tense frame. He sighs and leans back against Frost’s chest, looking up at him.
”why does it have to be me pretending to be a lady exactly?” He asked, annoyance lacing his voice. “Well, it’s our hair actually. Mine literally doesn’t go down so it would be pretty obvious that I’m not a woman, but you already have long-ish hair so you were the obvious choice.” Frost explained, a toothy grin gracing his face.
”it’s a ball, but here’s the thing my dear Frost, I’m already a shit dancer without heels or a dress long enough to be a tripping hazard, this is a horrible idea!” Bernard said, voice slightly raised and tense.
”that’s no problem dear!” Frost exclaimed, voice chipper as he spun him around so they’d face one another. “I’ll teach you!” Frost declared, his excitement obvious on his flushed blue face.
Before he could even speak, Frost had already positioned his hands into place, one on his shoulder, the other on his very cold hand. “Now keep your hands there love.” His boyfriend instructed before setting his cold hand onto the exposed skin on his back.
The two then start moving around the office, Frost guiding the steps while Bernard stumbles along, slowly getting the hang of how to step around.
Frost then smirks and dips Bernard down, which did startle the elf who immediately wrapped both arms around Frost’s shoulders. “Why did you do that!” He shouted, glaring at the very smug Frost. “I thought it would be funny and it was!” Frost chimed proudly, resting his arms around Bernard’s waist.
”no it wasn’t!” Bernard stated loudly despite pulling himself closer to the man he’s supposedly angry at. “Fuck you…” he grumbled softly, looking away from the winter sprite.
”Are you actually mad at me? Did I hurt you? Is that why you’re upset?” Frost began, voice slowly turning from smug to worried and panicked. Bernard sighs, ever since his redemption, Frost is too eager to please as a way to, in the sprite’s own words, be forgiven for his wrongdoings so nobody hates him. He really wishes there was an in between of Frost’s old frozen self and his unfrozen self, just one who is happy honestly.
”no, I’m fine, and I’m also not actually mad at you.” Bernard assured, lying his head against Frost’s shoulder. “Oh, okay…” Frost replied, deciding to make both of them sway back and forth to continue the dancing lesson.
“You know, you are kind of good at dancing.” Bernard complimented, deciding to make his winter sprite boyfriend feel better with silly little words. “Aw, thanks! I’ve practiced it really often!” Frost exclaimed, the whimsical joy coming back to his voice.
Frost grabs Bernard’s hand and spins him around a few times. Oddly enough, it did make Bernard laugh, genuinely happy. Frost then hoists Bernard up, both laughing and spinning around.
After a few more dancing antics, the two just sat down by the cabinets. “You did pretty well for your first time dancing in heels.” Frost said, looking down at the elf. “I feel like I’d dance better high, I probably have actually.” Bernard replied, shrugging.
”I’m gonna ignore the fact that you seem to have done drugs before.” Frost mumbles to himself before speaking up again. “So, I suppose I’ll see you later for our little mission dear?” He asked, tilting his head to the side.
”Yeah.” Bernard replied before leaning in and just kissing him for a few seconds. “Well…um, y-yeah, bye Bernie!” The winter sprite stammered out before disappearing.
”Heh, will tease and flirt to me all the time, but when I initiate something he gets flustered, how amusing.” Bernard says to himself before getting up to prepare for later.

Bernard paces around in front of the building, on a call with Santa about the mission while waiting for Frost. “Be careful Bernard, we do need this.” Scott advised, stern. “You can count on me boss.” Bernard assures before stopping the call.
”I know you’re behind me Jack.” The elf said, voice smug. “I just want to sneak up on you dear.” The winter sprite whined, pouting.
“Yes, and as the uptight elf I am, I will ruin that fun.” Bernard teased, turning around and putting his hand on the taller man’s chin to tilt his head down with a smirk and half lidded eyes.
”why are you always so eager sweetheart, we have a mission.” Jack stated, face flushing bright crimson. “Fine, but later, as a treat for doing this?” Bernard asked, an unusually sly smile on his face. The legendary figure nods quickly.
The two then interlock their hands and walk inside. Frost then turns around and smirks. “Shall we dance?” He asked teasingly. “Yes, we shall.” The elf replied in the same tone.
The hot and cold couple then walk to the middle of the building where everyone is dancing. While they dance, Bernard scans the room to find that person they need to find. He grins when he saw them, fangs peaking out.
”Thats our guy Jack.” He whispered, leaning closer. “I’ll be completely honest, I forgot that’s why we are here.” The winter sprite replied awkwardly. “Okay, mister scatterbrained, regardless, we need to take that person somewhere more secluded and prime their brain.” The elf explained, a hint of annoyance shining through in his voice.
“I’m not sure we should use priming a brain in this context love.” Frost murmured, the two swaying closer to the person.
“Hello sir, may you come with us?” Bernard mustered up in the softest tone he could. The man turns around and nods.
Once the group of three make it to a more secluded area, they stop. “So, what did you two want—” The man began before Bernard used a device to clean his brain of anything he shouldn’t know.
Jack Frost just stands there, watching in horror and awe as there are sparks flying but at least Bernard looks good doing it.
”alright, we’re done now, come on Jack.” Bernard said once he finished, holding his hand out. Frost takes it and the two leave.

The two step back into the empty workshop, hands still intertwined. Bernard looks up at Frost, smug. “You did well Frosty, I’ll see you later tonight.” He teased before letting go and walking away.
”Did I just watch my head elf insinuate having intimacy with you?” Scott asked, looking at the flushed Jack Frost. “Yes…yes he did…” He replied, covering his face before leaving.
”Great, I owe Charlie 30 dollars now.” Scott sighed, regretting betting with Charlie if Bernard and Frost were a thing or not.
