Ulalume padded quietly down the stairs of her house in the victor’s village, she had just showered and her skin was still slightly damp, she was dressed in a long, white, silk dress. The sleeves were short and lay on her pale shoulders. She stopped at the bottom of the stairs for a moment then walked quietly to the living room. She made it to her living room and sat down on her couch for about 2 seconds before standing up and moving to the middle of the large room.
Her long werewolf-like bottom and top teeth poked just slightly out from her lips. Lucy lay asleep upstairs in the quiet safety of her bedroom. Winona and Vienna had gone off to the market. The cove family had enough money to last them a millennium yet Winona and Vienna had insisted on going to the markets regardless. They should have been back ages ago. It worried Ulalume when they went out, people tended to hate victor's children.
Ulalume began to pace. Her bare feet silent against the carpeted floor of her living room. Her fingers intertwined in front of her stomach. Lucy’s soft snores echoed through the quiet of the house. The girls had left before she had gotten in the shower, Ulalume had set up everything they would need for dinner before the girls had even gone off to the market.
Just as Ulalume was debating going to find the girls she heard the familiar sound of the victors village gate opening. Oh thank god, the girls were home. She breathed a deep sigh of relief and moved to wait by the door. The girl's quiet footsteps could be heard from outside slowly getting louder until they finally stopped, a small knock on the door could be heard followed by a quiet “ma?” Ulalume opened the door and ushered the two girls inside.
Ulalume mumbled something, taking the girls bags and placing them on the ground next to the door. Her tongue slid across her teeth, the familiar stab of her fangs on her tongue calming her slightly.
“Winona, sweetie, go wake Lucy please” Ulalume said, already turning towards Vienna. “And you Vienna? Would you mind helping me get dinner started?”
