If there was anything Kookoo did to pass the time, it was being on its computer. You know, up to some virus shenanigans. Almost everyone knew this, and mainly contactes them through such methods. Except, of course, for one prideful overbearing prick, who preferred to do things a bit more traditionally.
A gateway opened, to where Kookoo spent most of its time; inside its domain, akin to other entities. Kookoo's initial reaction was confusion. John shouldn't be here right now, unless he decided to screw sleep over for some lousy keys again.
It put its hands up. "No need to freak out... It's only me."
"DOZER???" Kookoo almost shouted bloody murder.
"That is my name. It sounds nice coming out of your mouth..." Dozer hadn't, and probably won't for a while, realised he was flirting with the other.
However... Kookoo didn't quite get that que either.
It cocked its head to the side. "WHATS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? DONT YOU LIKE HEARING YOUR NAME IN GENERAL?"
"That is... true.. Although, that isn't exactly what I came for..." It reached under the hem of their gown, and pulled out a letter.
"WHAT IS THAT... I HEAR PAPER."
"It's... a letter, take it." Dozer lightly grasped Kookoo's hand, even caressing it a bit.
"UM. DOZER? IS A LETTER SUPPOSED TO JUST BE YOU TOUCHING MY HAND OR... OR? IS THERE SOMETHING IM NOT GETTING HERE?" It was rather flustered by what Dozer was doing. Yet, they didnt quite grasp what being flustered really was, and had seemed to bring more frustration out instead.
"Oh. I seem to have gotten a bit carried away... Er... Which is a good thing. Im not taking anything in life for granted... See how great I am?" He placed the letter into Kookoos hands.
"AGH... WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? IT FEELS LIKE... IT FEELS LIKE A GMAIL? BUT IT.. ITS SO..." It trailed off.
Proudly, Dozer interrupted its train of thought."So much more refined? More luxurious, maybe?"
"EH.. NOT EXACTLY HOW I WOULD HAVE DESCRIBED IT. WHATEVER. YOU KNOW I CAN'T... READ THIS, RIGHT?" Agitated, he threw the letter back at Dozer, who only smugly chuckled at this.
"Ah... It feels oh so nice to have the privledge of eyes... So much to see in the world. Poor you.. what a shame it is that you'll never—"
"DOZER... DONT TEST ME. IM NOT EXACTLY IN A GOOD MOOD RIGHT NOW. COULDN'T YOU HAVE JUST GMAILED ME???"
"Oh... what a poor and lowly way to communicate... Absolutely not. Next time, I should just get a messenger to do this for me." He spat, as if that were an insult.
"UH... OKAY? YOU SHOULD." He stated with quite an attitude.
Dozer put a hand over its heart. "My.. do you not hold yourself to higher standards...?! You can't possibly..."
"DOZER JUST READ ME THE DAMN OVERCOMPLICATED GMAIL!!!" It snapped.
Obviously offended; "Is that any way to treat a King? Since I am so generous, I will, but dont get it twisted. This wont be happening again." Dozer sighed, and opened the letter carefully, then began to read the contents inside.
"Ahem... Dearest... dearest.." Dozer just stared at the letter.
Amused; "DEAREST?"
"N...no. No. No?" Dozer stumbled over its words.
"DID YOU JUST HESITATE?" Now they were really entertained. Dozer wouldnt ever hear the end of this one.
"Stop that. Nevermind this, you... THIS isn't worth a speck of my time."
"HAHA. YOURE TOTALLY NERVOUS ABOUT WHATS IN THERE." It pointed.. slightly off from where the letter actually was.
"Kookoo, forget the letter. You shall be present in my domain tomorrow night, specifically at 9:00." It crumpled the paper with its fist.
They felt a bit bad for teasing it about the letter, but at the same time they couldnt help but feel as though Dozer overreacted. That, and Dozer always teased them. It was like... their thing. Silence fell upon them for a bit. Kookoo shuffled their hands a little.
"You will be there." Dozer said, its back already turned.
It left the letter on the ground, and left Kookoo's domain alltogether, leaving Kookoo rather confused about what he should do.
It doesnt admit it always, but they care for Dozer. They figured if it came itself to invite them to its domain, meeting there should be pretty important. It'll just have to wait 'till tomorrow to see.
____
9 P.M.
It was 9 P.M. and Dozer had surprisingly mistaken the amount of time it would take for itself to get ready. It would—to its dismay—have to leave his appearance as it was.
"UH... DOZER?" A muffled shout came from a room beyond where Dozer was.
Dozer quickly sat up and made its way to the centre of its domain, the ballroom.
"Kookoo." It said, sounding pleased that the other had shown up.
"HI.. DOZER." He looked in the direction of where he heard its voice.
"Ah... excuse this, please. I'm a bit of a..." he looked at himself in one of his windows. "Well. I didnt get to fully finish getting ready.
"NO.. ITS UH. FINE. I CANT EVEN SEE YOU." They scratched their head nervously, to which, Dozer chuckled.
"Thats right.. apologies."
Dozer made his way over to the other. "Kookoo."
"YES?" It said, startled by the sudden proximity Dozer seemed to have.
"Kookoo..."
"WHAT?" Kookoo, if not already, was definitely confused.
"Thank you.." Dozer extended its hands out to Kookoo.
They hesistated to grab them, and backed up a bit. "THANK ME. FOR... WHAT?"
Dozer.. retracted its hands. A hint of sadness shown on its face, and in his voice. "For coming? And for.. hm... had Litany ever shared how I feel of you two?"
"UHH... NO, SURPRISINGLY THEY DIDNT." Kookoo stayed where they were for the time being, and was rather tense about the whole thing.
"That I'm rather fond of you two. I find myself... enjoying more, now. It's entertaining, is all. Like you're my court jester, and Litany is my messenger.."
"UGH. YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE THINGS ABOUT YOURSELF BEING MORE.. POWERFUL THAN US." He crossed his arms, but moved in a tad bit closer.
"Heehee. What else do you expect of me?" Dozer tilted its head playfully.
"WELL... JUST THAT, I SUPPOSE. BUT NOT AFTER YOU SAY YOURE... FOND OF ME. IT JUST ENDS UP FEELING... ERGH...." It held its head in its hands.
"...I believe I understand." It tried to make the situation a bit better and stay patient with the other... not that it helped much.
A few minutes would pass... and then; "NO. NO, YOU DONT! YOU WONT UNTIL I... JUST... FIND THE RIGHT WORDS..."
"Let's leave a pin in it then. Come back to it later?" It suggested.
"YES. YES, THAT IS.. SMART. EUGH.." Kookoo hated feeding into Dozer's ego.
Yet, fed, it replied. "Ah... yes, I know. I am rather smart, aren't I?"
But only silence followed.
But perhaps... "Ahem... don't tell Litany, but I often find myself liking you more than them." It didnt have to be the only one to have its ego fed?
However, it was only met by confusion. "REALLY? WHY??? AND WHY DONT YOU TELL HER?"
"Well... You keep my secrets between us." It got closer to Kookoo "And you, of course, don't break or find loopholes in our promises."
"WELL. DUH. WHY WOULD I DO IT TO SOMEONE ELSE IF I DIDN'T WANT IT HAPPENING TO ME?"
"Indeed. I don't tell her... because, well... I just fear she wouldn't want to talk about her own flaws. Not that most people would anyway."
"LIKE YOU?" Kookoo snickered.
"HAH! As if. I dont have any flaws." He put his hands on his hips, and stood proudly.
"YEAH RIGHT. TRY ALL YOUD LIKE TO ESCAPE THEM. THEYLL CATCH UP SOON.."
"...Well. Either way, I still wanted to thank you." Once again he offered his hands out to Kookoo.
"WITH... THIS?"
"Well, what else? I personally would love a ballroom dance as a thank you..." He started to—unfortunatly—again retract his hands.
"EUGH..." Kookoo quickly grabbed them. "SO EGOCENTRIC..."
Dozer stood for a while, surprised a bit, and slightly unsure of what to do next.
So he just... danced with Kookoo. And they followed. Gettibg the gist of it rather easily.
"Do you not enjoy it..?" He finally replied, in response to Kookoos earlier statement.
"ARE YOU TRYING TO GUILT TRIP ME?"
"No. No, I am not, Kookoo." It stated very matter-of-factly.
"WELL, OKAY... ITS JUST THAT... THIS IS WHAT YOU WOULD WANT, NOT ME. YOU MAY HAVE HAD ME IN MIND, BUT YOU DIDNT TAKE THE TIME TO CONSIDER ME AS.. AS..."
"..."
"SOMETHING, THAT CAN THINK AND LIKE AND PERCIEVE."
"I... I know what being egocentric is. You didn't need to explain it. His dancing became more rigid.
"YOU'RE STEPPING ON MY FEET."
"Ah? Am I?!" It panicked a bit, not very fond of making mistakes.
Kookoo hesitated to say anything. "UHM... YEAH."
"Ahem... I did not mean to.. err... be so single minded. I just wanted to show you appreciation in my way."
"SURE... OKAY."
"That is... another thing." Dozer calmed down a bit.
"WHAT IS?" Kookoo tilted his head.
Dozer hid his head to the side. "I dont feel mad that you point that out."
"OH?"
"Just... embarrassed, I suppose.." Dozer stated, somewhat frustrated.
"SO THEN... HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT ME NORMALLY? AM I STILL BELOW YOU, OR?" Kookoo smiled, rather smug.
He quickly changed the subject. "Remember what you were saying earlier? Why dont we take that pin out?"
"YOU... UGH. FINE. WHAT WAS I EVEN SAYING?" He said, sighing.
He smiled, glad he was able to get away with it. "Something about... how calling you and Litany my jesters after saying how fond am of you both made you feel...."
"LIKE IT WAS FAKE! LIKE. LIKE THAT LITERALLY IS ALL WE ARE TO YOU; JESTERS."
"Well, if anything, you're in a much better position than Litany."
"SO THEN THAT IS ALL WE ARE TO YOU?"
"Well... what else? Who else to make a King feel so happy? So warm inside and fulfilled...?" He moved in a bit closer.
"UHM..." He stepped back a couple of centimetres, but kept his hands with Dozer's. "ARE YOU MESSING WITH ME?"
"Why would I do so?" It tilted its head.
"URGH... I..."Kookoo struggled to come up with an explanation.
"I want you to be with me, forever. And I with you..."
"DOZER..." He was still skeptical of what he was describing.
"I melt when you say my name, Koo, its a wonderful feeling..."
"IT DOESN'T REALLY..." Kookoo realised what he had called him. "WAIT... KOO?"
"Please.. please do continue."
"AS I WAS.. SAYING.." They breathed for a small while. "IT JUST DOESNT SOUND LIKE YOURE REALLY DESCRIBING A JESTER ANYMORE."
"Well, Jesters can differ from King to King..."
"DOZER..."
"Hm...?"
"I CAN FEEL YOUR GAZE."
"I uh.. Excuse you?" His face reddened, but was glad that Kookoo was unable to see that.
"JUST BECAUSE I DONT HAVE EYES DOESNT MEAN I CANT FEEL YOU LOOKING AT ME." He moved in ever so slightly closer.
"How odd... Well, so what if I—" Dozer was cut off as Kookoo cupped its face. He felt a rush of anticipation, of just what would come next. And some other feeling too, that he only felt with... "Koo? Why are your hands on my face..?" Again, a bit confused.
Kookoo smiled, and simply stated; "IM LOOKING AT YOU TOO.." It waited a bit for a response from Dozer. Just to make sure it could continue.
"Ah... I suppose that is fair. Look as long as you'd like, I don't mind..." It had never experienced any touch like this, with hands, that to it, felt so loving.
They both stopped dancing, and Dozer reeled Kookoo in closer, while fully resting its head in the others hands.
This went on for... quite some time. Until, at a point, their faces got.. rather close to one another.
Dozer closed the gap.
By resting his head on Kookoo's shoulder.
And snoring.
"JEEZ... REALLY?" He just sighed, and pet the others head for the rest of the night, until he himself fell asleep.
