Work Text:
Chuuya stood on the curb in front of the movie theater with Higuchi beside him. They’d gotten there early, but ended up waiting anyway. The rest of their movie group hadn’t shown up yet. Not that Chuuya was surprised in the least about that. Eventually, the missing two came trotting up the sidewalk.
Atsushi walked with a somewhat exasperated expression on his face and looked like he was trying to hurry down the road. Dazai, meanwhile, drifted behind him with a leisurely stroll, the kind of walk that made Chuuya’s eyelid twitch before a single word had been spoken.
“Sorry we’re so late!” Atsushi panted as he came to a stop beside Chuuya. Dazai strode up behind him, resting his arms behind his head.
“Don’t worry about it.” Chuuya said. “You aren’t even as late as I expected from this guy.” He nodded toward Dazai. “Glad you made it though.” He stressed the “you” in a way that almost sounded like he meant both of them, but he clearly did not.
“Hi, Atsushi, Dazai.” Higuchi chimed in, waving politely from the other side of Chuuya.
“Well, hello there. I didn’t think anyone else would be coming along.” Dazai stepped past Chuuya to stand by Higuchi instead.
“Ah, well, he invited me along after I mentioned wanting to see this movie.” Higuchi put a finger to her chin. “I was only mentioning it to Tachihara, but I guess he heard me.”
“You don’t have to tell him that part!” Chuuya interrupted.
“Eager to have her along for some reason?” Dazai asked with an accusing look.
Chuuya scowled up at him. “Yeah, so I could have some backup against you people from the Detective Agency.”
“What, backup to go see a movie about a dog? That’s a little pathetic dontcha think?”
“It’s not gonna be pathetic when I knock you off your feet into the street!”
“Hey, hey, why don’t we just go in and get some seats?” Atsushi placed himself strategically between them.
“Yeah, that’s right. I got the tickets.” Chuuya showed the screen of his phone. “These four.”
“I’m surprised you can even reach the counter to scan them.” Dazai snickered.
“That’s awesome, thank you.” Atsushi gave him a genuine smile, disregarding Dazai before Chuuya could say anything back to the jab. Chuuya shot the kid a look of genuine pity. He really was a saint. Surviving in Dazai’s orbit required a level of mental fortitude that Chuuya wouldn’t wish on anyone. Clearly, Atsushi was mentally tough.
“I want a popcorn. Won’t you buy me one, Atsushi?” Dazai said, leaning onto Atsushi as they entered the theater’s front doors.
“What? I didn’t even have the money to get myself one!”
“No way, really? You didn’t bring snack money?”
“I didn’t have any snack money!”
“Hey, Atsushi.” Chuuya followed behind them with Higuchi at his side. “I’ll get a popcorn for you.”
“Oh, you really don’t have to –”
“Aw, how charitable of Chuuya to get us all some snacks!” Dazai’s voice went into that airy, melodic register that usually preceded a headache for Chuuya.
“I said Atsushi. Not you.” He gravitated more towards Atsushi. “Get your own or don’t get one.”
“What, you won’t even buy me one with that fancy credit card of yours?” Dazai whined as they got into the snack line.
“No, I won’t.” Chuuya repeated. “You don’t even wanna see this movie. You’re just here to piss me off.”
“What makes you think I don’t want to see the movie?” Dazai asked.
“You don’t even like dogs.” Chuuya sidestepped him and approached the counter. Once he’d acquired a popcorn bucket, he handed it to Atsushi.
“Maybe I don’t like dogs, but I do like movies.” Dazai insisted.
“Then bring your own money next time.” Chuuya started walking for the theater as soon as Higuchi came over with her own snacks. “You should be groveling at my feet just for the privilege of a free ticket.”
“I was wondering about that.” Atsushi said. “When Dazai told me not to worry about getting seats, I mean.”
Chuuya pushed through the theater door with a heavy sigh and headed inside. “Don’t read anything into it. It was just easier to get them all at once.”
“I guess that makes sense.”
They didn’t say anything more until they got to the top of the rows. They had seats up at the very back. Atsushi’s eyes widened as he took a look at the place before the lights went down.
“Oh wow, this is one of those theaters that has the reclining seats in them!” He said, plopping down into one of their assigned seats and sinking into the soft fake leather cushion.
“They also have a seat warmer.” Higuchi sat in the seat next to him and pointed to the buttons. “And the back moves too.”
“It’s so comfortable!”
“You act like you’ve never sat in a chair before.” Chuuya said, watching Atsushi move the chair’s parts around with glee.
“I don’t go to the theater very often let alone a really nice one like this. I didn’t even see a movie at a theater until I started working with the Agency.”
Chuuya looked at Dazai. “And you were gonna make him buy all the snacks? The guy is thrilled to just play with the recliner.”
Atsushi looked a bit sheepish.
“This part even goes up.” Higuchi continued, showing Atsushi the way the arm between his and her seats pushed up to make them into a two seated couch.
“Oh, that’s neat. Why though?” Atsushi asked.
“You know.” She began. “It’s for, like, couples. On dates.” She put the arm back down between the two of them as she said it.
“It can’t just be for that one reason though…”
Chuuya checked out from the rest of their conversation to seat himself. Unfortunately, the last number on their tickets was on Dazai’s side, the other side of Atsushi. He stood in front of Dazai, who had settled in and glared at him.
“You’re kidding right? Why can’t you sit on the other side of Higuchi?”
“But Chuuya, we must respect the establishment’s seating chart.” Dazai grinned, his voice dripping with mock sincerity. It was as if just the look on Chuuya’s face at sitting beside him was humorous to him. “So, sit down already.”
“At least move down so I’m not only next to you.”
“Not a chance. I have to sit with Atsushi. He’s the keeper of the snacks after all.”
“You can’t eat my snacks!” Atsushi said, stuffing a handful of popcorn into his mouth.
“We’ll see about that.” Dazai said as Chuuya plopped next to him with a huff.
Chuuya couldn’t say he was thrilled to be sitting by Dazai, especially when it got dark in the room, but as the lights started to go down, his excitement at getting to see the movie started to win out over his annoyance. Eventually the show was starting, and he got to sit quietly and enjoy it.
It was clear that Dazai on the other hand wasn’t going to enjoy the movie. It was already boring him after the first ten minutes, so he turned his attention to Chuuya instead. He considered poking or prodding him, anything to annoy him while he tried to watch, but he found himself given pause by the genuine look on Chuuya’s face. In fact, he couldn’t tear his eyes away from Chuuya. He seemed to be so legitimately enjoying the movie. Dazai couldn’t remember seeing a look like that on Chuuya before, especially not one that he maintained for so long. He didn’t even notice Dazai watching him, instead of the movie.
Dazai rested his head on his hand and continued to watch Chuuya. He almost didn’t notice the way his own expression softened. He did notice, however, the warmth pooling in his abdomen, followed by the sudden slight tightness of his pants. He let out an annoyed breath through his nose. Seriously? He couldn’t believe the betrayal, that his body would react like this now of all times. And to Chuuya no less? He crossed a long, slender leg over the other and pressed his thighs a little tighter. He pulled his eyes off the man next to him and tried to focus back on the screen again.
Dazai had taken off his jacket when he sat down, so he placed it over his lap. Though he stayed collected, he really did feel a sudden heavy humiliation hanging over him now. To sit here and get hard while attending a family film had to be the worst possible outcome. This movie was basically engineered to be a mood killer, but yet, here he was. As if it wasn’t bad enough, it was all Chuuya’s fault. Or at least, he wanted to be annoyed at Chuuya and blame him for the embarrassment. But that also meant that he would have to acknowledge that he was not only aroused by Chuuya, but by Chuuya sitting there and doing next to nothing.
He took another look at Chuuya. Despite having wiggled around and moved his jacket, Chuuya hadn’t paid him any mind. He leaned his head to the side, thinking, considering an idea. A rather sneaky one even. He pushed up the arm between their seats and scooted closer to Chuuya on the couch. Chuuya finally reacted to him.
“What do you think you’re doing?” He hissed in a whisper.
“I’m cold. It’s freezing in here, don’t you think?” Dazai whispered back. He was still sitting with his coat on his legs like a blanket.
“No, it’s not cold, you’re just dramatic.” Chuuya shook his head, not even fully looking at Dazai. “If you want my coat, then just take it and shut up. I’m trying to watch.”
“No, no. You gotta warm me up.”
Chuuya’s head turned that time. “Are you stupid?”
“You owe me for making me come to this boring movie with you.”
“You invited yourself.” Chuuya let out a breath through his nose. “I’m not playing games with you. If you don’t like the movie, leave.”
Dazai leaned a little closer, shoulder nudging Chuuya’s. “Just sit on me for a little bit.”
“Don’t say dumb shit like that.”
“I’m serious. You’re like a little space heater. It’s a crime to keep all that warmth to yourself. Stop being stingy.”
Chuuya gritted his teeth. He knew it would be ridiculous to actually sit on Dazai’s lap. He couldn’t even begin to imagine why Dazai was suddenly hassling him about it. He was half expecting a “lap dog” comment. But he also knew that Dazai would not shut up and let him watch this movie if he didn’t do what he wanted. He weighed the two options. It seemed like just giving in was the better one. Especially because it was now dark in the theater. He could just stay there for the rest of the movie and quickly get off of him before the lights came up for the credits.
With a defeated sigh, Chuuya scooted up onto Dazai’s legs, slipping under this coat. Immediately, he felt something against his ass. He turned to face Dazai as much as he could in a quick motion. He had to refrain from punching him in the theater though. He couldn’t draw attention to the fact he was now sitting on his lap.
“You piece of shit. You’re not cold at all, are you?” He grumbled.
“Not anymore.” Dazai chuckled in his ear. “You’re nice and warm.”
“Is this funny to you? Are you getting a good chuckle out of pressing your dick against my ass?”
Dazai’s expression was hard to see in the dark, especially with how Chuuya already had to crane his neck to look behind him. When he spoke, his voice lost that airy, mocking quality. “No, it’s not funny. You feel good.”
“Wha – Don’t tell me you’re actually getting off on this.” He struggled to keep his voice down.
“This movie’s so boring, Chuuya. And it’s your fault this happened.”
Chuuya paused, his angry expression dropping. “My fault?”
Dazai seemed to realize what he’d said, looking like he was mentally hitting himself for a moment before nodding. “That’s right. Or did you think I just really liked boring movies?”
“I’m so sick of you. I’m never buying you another movie ticket.” But Chuuya’s cheeks were a little red at the notion.
“But you gotta take responsibility now, don’t you?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Dazai responded by pushing his hips harder against Chuuya’s ass, rolling them against him. “You know.”
“Not a chance.” Chuuya spit.
“Doesn’t it sound exciting though? There’s people around, but no one would know.”
“Was being the most annoying person in the world not enough for you? You also somehow had to be the biggest pervert too?” Chuuya shook his head. “You’re making me miss the movie.”
Even as he said it though, he could feel sensation between his thighs. He had to try harder than he would have liked to push the thoughts Dazai was planting in his head out. He did want to. He hated that he wanted to. He just wanted to see his movie. But now, he couldn’t even focus on it. All he could think about was how Dazai’s dick felt against him. Every so often, he made another little roll against Chuuya. Chuuya clenched his fists against his legs, gritting his teeth as if he was actually fighting with himself to stop from doing what he was going to.
Finally, he whispered back to Dazai again. “Fine.” It still came out as an angry hiss. “But be quick. The movie’s already half over.”
“That’s a good boy.” Dazai murmured. The praise felt like a physical weight, dropping low in Chuuya’s gut. He had to remind himself to breathe for a moment. Dazai’s breath brushed Chuuya’s neck as his hands moved around his waist. They slipped under the coat covering their laps and began to undo Chuuya’s pants.
Chuuya glanced at Atsushi and Higuchi for a moment. They hadn’t even seemed to notice Dazai and Chuuya had moved at all. Chuuya tried to keep his movements subtle as he let Dazai help him slip down his pants, just enough. His bare ass connected with Dazai’s lap, but Dazai didn’t give him even a moment before his fingers were slipping between his thighs.
Chuuya tensed as Dazai rubbed his fingers through the slickness there. He tried to ignore the thought that how wet he already was had shown how much he really did want it. He clenched his teeth, holding back from making a sound as Dazai’s fingers slowly massaged him. He found himself almost involuntarily relaxing against Dazai. Why was it so hard to keep from completely giving in?
One of Dazai’s fingers dipped into him and he had to swallow a whimper. The only thing more annoying than how much he wanted this was how good Dazai was at doing it. It would have been less humiliating if Dazai had been bad at it. If had had been clumsy or fumbling. If he couldn’t find the right spots. Something. But Dazai moved with a practiced precision. He knew exactly where to touch. The pleasure was already shooting through his body and he thought he might just finish on his fingers if he kept it up.
Dazai however did not keep it up. He stopped after a moment and slipped his fingers back out. Chuuya could feel Dazai fiddling with his pants behind where he was still sitting on him. The way Dazai had been fingering him, he almost wasn’t sure he had actually planned to do what had Chuuya thought he was agreeing to.
“Can’t let you have all the fun now.” Dazai whispered right into his ear. It was such a cheesy line. Straight out of a trashy novel. The kind of cliché Chuuya would have usually wanted to punch him for. But instead he just cringed at the fact that his body responded to it, throbbing with want for Dazai to fuck him right here in the theater.
“I almost thought you changed your mind.” Chuuya said back.
“Not a chance.” Dazai rested his hands on Chuuya’s ass. “Can you lift up without knocking off the coat?”
Chuuya hooked the heels of his shoes against the fake leather and carefully raised himself just enough to not draw attention from their companions. He positioned himself by feel over Dazai’s tip. He could feel him already dripping against him. God, they were both pathetic.
Dazai at least took his time helping Chuuya to lower himself down onto him. Chuuya could feel the stretch as he pushed in and had to bite his hand to keep the sound in his mouth. The speed he lowered himself was torturous, but soon enough, he felt his thighs press against Dazai’s. He let his legs relax and drop back down against Dazai’s.
Dazai had his feet planted on the floor, but Chuuya’s couldn’t reach when he was sitting on him, so he just had to let them dangle. Not being able to push against the floor just put most of his weight on his hips and forced him to sit harder on Dazai’s dick. His fingers dug into the coat, now the only thing keeping them from being caught. There was no going back now. Dazai was buried in him to the base in this theater.
Chuuya cursed through his teeth. Dazai wrapped his arms around Chuuya’s middle and rested his head on his shoulder. “There we go.” He cooed into Chuuya’s ear. “Just like that. You’re such a cooperative partner when you want to be.”
He remained still for a moment, just pressing up inside of Chuuya. Chuuya turned his head back as much as he could.
“Are you just going to sit there like that now?” He said.
“Mhm.” Dazai mumbled into his neck. “Chuuya’s so nice and warm.” His breath brushed against sensitive spots of Chuuya’s skin. “And when you press your legs together like that, you’re so tight too.”
“So, you aren’t even going to move? Do I look like a cockwarmer to you?”
“Well, since you’re doing such a good job of it –”
Chuuya cut him off with a roll of his hips. “Shut up and do what you begged me for, or I’m getting up.”
“Wow, so demanding for someone who didn’t even want it.” Dazai breathed hot breath into Chuuya’s ear. Before Chuuya could comment again, he gave one thrust up into Chuuya.
The sudden, upward jolt caught Chuuya off guard. He slapped a hand over his mouth, barely able to stifle the sound into his palm before settling back on Dazai’s thighs. He glared at him with a mix of fury and dazed heat.
“Are you trying to get caught?”
“Aw, did you want to moan?”
Right at that moment, Atsushi shifted in the seat next to them, leaning over to Higuchi. He whispered something to her about the puppy on the screen, his voice cutting through the dark. Chuuya froze, his heart hammering against his chest as he waited for the kid to settle back down.
“How are you insufferable even now?” Once Atsushi was quiet again, Chuuya lowered his voice until even Dazai could barely hear him. Despite his complaints, Chuuya was only frustrated because of how close he’d gotten before. As much as he hated to admit, he wanted it bad now. He didn’t even care where they were. “Let me do it then…” He whispered as he started to slowly roll his hips against Dazai’s lap.
“Are you trying to end this already?” Dazai’s head fell back, mouth open.
“Maybe I’ll actually get to see the end of his movie…” Chuuya grumbled, setting a steady pace.
The movie screen suddenly flared from a dark night scene to a bright, sunlit field. The soft white light flooded the theater, casting Chuuya and Dazai’s joined silhouette against the back wall. Chuuya ducked his head lower, terrified that a casual glance from one of their companions would reveal exactly why he was sitting up so high. Dazai didn’t even seem bothered by the sudden light, still practically drooling.
Dazai’s face leaned against Chuuya’s neck again. “Or are you just eager?” His tongue trailed over Chuuya’s neck, licking just above his choker in a slow, deliberate motion that made Chuuya’s toes curl in his shoes.
“Eager for you to get over yourself.”
Dazai didn’t retort back, instead pressing his lips to the spot he was licking and kissing over Chuuya’s neck in wet, open mouthed kisses. “Don’t go so fast, or you’ll draw attention.”
“Oh, now you’re worried about attention? Or are you just embarrassed by how fast you’re about to cum?”
“I can’t help it when you feel this good.”
Chuuya’s rhythm faltered for just a second. He had half-expected more snark or denial. He didn’t expect to be so affected by a compliment like that. But he was throbbing around Dazai, clenching down on him like he was going to leave him hanging there.
“It – ah – it does feel good…” He muttered, letting his head fall slightly to the side and exposing more of his neck to Dazai’s mouth.
Dazai made quiet groans into his skin. It seemed like Chuuya wasn’t the only one fighting to keep from making noises as the pressure built inside of him. Every sharp inhale felt like it might betray them to the rest of the row. Dazai’s mouth trailed up Chuuya’s neck, groans little more than vibrations against Chuuya’s skin, felt rather than heard. His teeth grazed Chuuya’s earlobe before he whispered into his ear, almost inaudible.
“You’re going to let me fill you up then?” Chuuya’s fingers dug deeper into the fabric of the coat. He gave a shaky nod. “Then just slow down. Relax.”
Dazai’s hands stroked Chuuya’s thighs gently. Chuuya did as he asked him to this time, slowing his grinding until he was almost still. Dazai hugged him closer, letting his head come to rest on Chuuya’s shoulder again. Chuuya was panting, trying to keep his breathing from being too loud. His little shallow breaths were luckily covered by an upbeat song from the screen.
“Almost there.” Dazai murmured into his ear. “So close…”
Chuuya was close too. To his surprise, slowing down had actually made the feeling better. The shift in tempo forced Chuuya to feel every inch of the contact. It wasn’t just friction anymore, it was the heavy, grounding weight of Dazai’s chest against his back. The warmth of Dazai holding him was comforting and overwhelming in a way that made him shiver. He’d all but forgotten the movie as he closed his eyes and focused entirely on the sensation between his legs.
Dazai’s hips suddenly jerked and Chuuya’s eyes snapped open. Dazai muffled a groan into his neck, muttering Chuuya’s name after it. A moment later, Dazai was burying his whole face against Chuuya and clasping a hand over his mouth. Chuuya could feel the shocks going through Dazai’s body as much as he could feel him emptying himself deep inside him. He continued to roll his hips through it, until Dazai stopped shivering and relaxed against the backrest.
Chuuya gave him exactly three seconds of recovery before dropping his heel against Dazai’s shin. Dazai’s half-lidded eyes widened as he hissed under his breath.
“Ow, what’s that for?”
“Did you forget someone?” Chuuya asked, though there wasn’t as much venom in his tone as he would have liked. He could still feel Dazai pressing inside against his sensitive walls and the need to finish was close-by.
“Ah.” Dazai said, pulling himself up from where he was sinking back into the cushions. “Does Chuuya need a little more attention?”
He hated the way Dazai asked it. Saying yes felt like humiliation. “It would be just like you to leave me on my own.” He said instead.
“I wouldn’t do that.” Dazai cooed. His hands immediately found their way back under the coat still draped over their laps. “Just calm down.”
Chuuya couldn’t maintain his frown when Dazai’s fingers once again slipped between his legs. This time, the feeling of Dazai rubbing and massaging him was coupled with his dick still pressed inside. Chuuya tightened his jaw, trying not to finish right away after making a thing of it. Curse Dazai and his stupid, talented fingers. He couldn’t last like he wanted. In no time, he was clenching down on Dazai’s dick as the orgasm crashed down on him. He could almost see Dazai’s annoying smug face despite facing away from him. Unfortunately, it only made the pleasure sharper to imagine Dazai smirking down at him while he finished on his dick.
Dazai made sure to let Chuuya see him lick his fingers off as Chuuya started coming back to his senses. His eyes glinted in the light of the screen. Chuuya shook his head, but the twitch between his legs was too obvious to Dazai while still pushing all the way in him. Chuuya quickly dismounted him, hastily tugging his pants back up over his ass before anyone could notice they were pulled down. He watched Dazai also fumble around under the coat to tuck himself back in. Dazai didn’t scoot back over once he was done though, still placing himself on Chuuya’s side.
“Okay, you had your fun. Get out of my seat.”
“What, you don’t wanna snuggle after? How cold-hearted.” His sarcasm was grating.
“Get the hell back over there.” He repeated, pushing at Dazai a bit.
“Fine, fine, I wanna be where the popcorn is anyway!”
Dazai moving around on the couch must have drawn attention, because Atsushi had finally looked over at them. If Dazai wiggling a little was all it took to alert him, Chuuya was glad he hadn’t chosen earlier to peek their direction. Chuuya watched Dazai mooch Atsushi’s popcorn for a moment before turning back to the movie. He was happy to get back to watching it, but the aftermath still left him trembling slightly. He wanted to be mad at how good his body felt. Unfortunately, he felt too relaxed to be grumpy about it. In fact, he felt like he could fall asleep.
Chuuya woke up to Higuchi nudging him from where she stood in front of him. He looked up at her, and around at the now brightly lit theater.
“Time to go, Chuuya!” Dazai said cheerfully from beside her.
“Oh, did you really fall asleep during the movie?” Higuchi asked.
Chuuya started to register what was going on. He’d missed the end. “Dammit!” He barked, his fist thudding uselessly against the plush armrest. “I can’t believe that!”
“I told you it was a boring movie!” Dazai snickered as he headed down the stairs.
“It’s your damn fault it happened in the first place!” Chuuya rushed after him. “Get the hell back here!”
Atsushi and Higuchi looked at each other with raised eyebrows for a moment before following them out. Both of them had learned by now not to question what those two got up to, or what they spend an entire movie whispering to each other about.
