Work Text:
You were so glad that mission was over.
Your limbs ached, and all you wanted to do was shower and lay down, maybe read some of that new book you picked up on the holonet. The team had a few days of rest after this which you were more than grateful for.
You let the warm water wipe away the grime and sweat from that afternoon, settling into a comfy outfit that would brace you under the cold of hyperspace. And finally, you laid flat on your stomach on your bunk in the Marauder and began reading away.
You don't know how much time passed, but your surroundings blurred as you became fully entranced in your book. The characters were getting into another emotional scene, albeit tense. Your eyes scanned the words, holding your breath as the pages passed. And when the male main character pinned the female character's hands above her head, you couldn't help yourself but don a huge smile and let out a borderline embarrassing squeal.
"What are you reading?"
Your gazed snapped to your sergeant, Hunter, watching you from his lower bunk. He sat on the edge spinning his vibroblade, his gaze amused but quizzical. Your cheeks flushed as you realized how loud you were in your animations, completely forgetting where you were.
"S-Sorry. It's nothing." You replied with a small grin, shaking your head before flicking your eyes back to the datapad.
"Doesn't sound like nothing. Must be quite entertaining to get that noise." Hunter's voice was laced with a tinge of enjoyment, reveling in your temporary discomfort. His blade kept spinning, but his eyes were totally locked on yours.
"Just a book I'm reading." You shrugged, deciding you needed a drink of water before you continued on. Walking to the refresher, you splashed the liquid on your face before filling a cup, downing some of it to quench your thirst. When you deemed yourself satisfied, you opened the door and trudged back to your bed.
But when you entered the room, no one was there anymore. Hunter was gone...and so was your datapad.
Frowning slightly, you starting walking towards your bed, searching the sheets and the small compartment next to it.
Nothing.
You sighed, putting your hands on your hips before you heard a voice.
"Looking for this?"
You whipped behind you to find Hunter, standing a foot away from you with the glowing datapad in hand.
You gasped softly at the basically nonexistent space before you both, trailing your gaze from his chest to his eyes, which burned with an undeniable fire.
"I-" You started, but your breath caught in your throat when he started reading.
"He slowly interlocked his fingers with hers, looking deep into her blue eyes..." Hunter's tilted his head, irises flicking back and forth. "Before grasping her wrists and thrusting her arms above her head, eliciting a gasp."
You had no words. No response. His presence was intoxicating, and although you had a growing crush on your sergeant, you never acted on it. You assumed he didn't feel the same, besides the fact that it was unprofessional.
But now, you were questioning your assumptions.
He let out a low chuckle, and his breath fanned across your face. And when he slowly tore his gaze from the screen, the look he gave you was nothing short of animalistic. "Is this what you like?"
You would have responded. You should have, but you were rendered speechless. Your brain was running at a million miles per hour, and desire was crawling up your throat, begging to be released. So instead, you nodded.
He gave a hum of satisfaction before sliding the datapad on your mattress next to you. You couldn't move, but only watch as Hunter slowly straightened again, coming even closer to you than before.
Every breath you took, which got sharper, caused your chest to collide with his in a light touch, and it almost made you shiver. The cabin was dark enough that Hunter's features were only accentuated as he towered over you, his eyes becoming lidded.
Then, when you thought things couldn't get tenser, he carefully reached for your hands plastered by your sides, rubbing his thumbs over the top of your hands. "Like this?"
You were almost shaking now, unable to breathe.
Hunter's eyes flicked to your lips quickly before resuming their hold on yours, his control fraying. And despite it all, you held his stare.
Until Hunter emitted a growl and pinned your wrists above your head, switching his grip to just one hand, using the other to tease your jaw. You let out a surprise gasp, blinking multiple times to make sure this wasn't a dream.
And you stood like that, flushed against the wall by your bed for what seemed like hours.
"I love how fast your heart is beating," Hunter whispered, his hand cupping your chin. "All for me."
You were putty in his hands at this point, almost buckling at his words. You wanted to get pinched, just to make sure.
Another small laugh reached your skin. "This is real, y/n." He leaned in until your noses brushed against each other. "Very real."
Did you actually ask him to get pinched?
You didn't have time to think about that before a new thought slipped past your lips. "Kiss me." You practically begged, breaths becoming ragged.
Hunter sucked in a sharp inhale before gripping your chin tighter, slamming his lips onto yours with so much force you would have collapsed had he not been holding you up.
The kiss was rough, both of you molding your bodies together as nothing but passion bonded your lips. This is what you dreamed of.
After a long moment, Hunter broke away, all but gasping for breath as he rested his forehead against yours. "Got any more scenes you'd like to reenact?"
At that you did chuckle, still trying to catch your own breath. "A few."
Let's just say, rest was foreign to you that night.
