Chapter Text
Bowser wasn't mad. His plans were just messed up. By those brothers. Luigi cross dressing to save Peach was never even considered. WHY couldn't he get that image out of his head--- “AHG! Stupid, Mario, stupid Luigi!” Bowser's fist hit a pillar and the building shook. “I need to make a plan. I need to do something to actually get under Mario's skin.” Bowser stomped to his throne and threw himself into it, sitting he pondered with his claw on his chin. What would get under Mario's skin, would make him actually mad. And then Bowser got a horribly beautiful idea.
“Fang!” The aforementioned magikoopa flew in on his broom, “Yes? Lord Bowser.” Kamek adjusted his glasses, “Junior has just gone to bed sir.” he informed politely. “Good, good. I wanted to discuss a new plan with you” Kamek surprised said “I don't know if that's a good idea, why Sir, your last plan just failed, maybe you should take a break for a bit?” Bowser waves the suggestion away like a physical thing. “No. Fang this plan is different! This one will actually work because we're not going to be kidnapping Princess Peach this time.” Kamek hovered, seeing if Bowser would say more, “who then?” he eventually asked. “Luigi.”

Luigi was on a balcony looking at the stars. He just needed to get away from the banquet and the stars in the Mushroom Kingdom were quite beautiful. Nothing like the city, the stars were actually visible out here. No light pollution does that. This entire banquet was for his Big Brother Mario, he had saved princess Peach for like the 1,000,000th time. Luigi wasn't mad per se or jealous. He just felt unappreciated, he never got celebrated. He was always the meek brother. The second fiddle. The sidekick. At least this time he played an important role in saving Peach. Via cross dressing and almost marrying Bowser.
Mario didn't even notice him leave the party to clear his head. Why would he? He's The Star of the show. Luigi chastises himself. He shouldn't be thinking this. He should be happy for his brother. But Luigi was never the one to save the day. Mario could do it all on his own. He didn't even need to be there for Mario to save the day.
Luigi didn't cry looking up at the stars.
The Flying Machine was heard before it came into view. Luigi glanced at who was piloting it. It wasn't really surprising who it was, Bowser. “Are you crying?” he bluntly asked. Luigi used the palm of his hand to clear the wet from his face. “I wasn't crying.. Why are you here? Your plan just failed.” Luigi did not look into Bowser's eyes, keeping his gaze on the stars. “Are you here to kidnap Peach again, because that will not work.” Bowser confidently smiled. “Now why wouldn't that work if that was my plan?” Luigi almost laughed, almost. “Because I'm here to stop you and my brother is too.” Bowser rolled his eyes, “like you could stop me on your own.” Luigi did not comment on this, just rubbing his face more, “Shut up.” Bowser doesn't really care but he asked anyway “what's wrong?” Luigi sniffled, “I don't know, maybe it's the fact that I am so weak. I'm just the sidekick. I can't do anything on my own.” Bowser reluctantly handed Luigi a handkerchief, Luigi blew his nose.
“Alright so you wanna hear: why am I actually here?” Luigi looked at him finally, “Not really, but I'll bite. ‘Why are you here?’ to kidnap Princess Peach?” Bowser did not appreciate the sarcasm. “to kidnap you, Greenbean.” Luigi was only able to look panicked for a second before he was grabbed, “WAIT WHAT!!”
The Flying Machine quickly flew away (well as quickly as a flying machine could go) no one at the banquet noticed Luigi was missing.

Mario looked back at the balcony that he last saw Luigi at, he was missing. He must have gone to bed, Luigi didn't really like these parties. Mario knew that but he couldn't stop attending for Luigi; he was the main event, the person that was being honored. Mario would see in the morning if Luigi was okay, he didn't want to bother him. Mario didn't know how much of a grave mistake that would be.
