Chapter Text
It was done.
The pain banging at his skull made it too hard to type just as he finished writing his final and first letter to Avery.
No- it wasn't banging. It wasn't even the overload, the pressure built up inside his skull that it usually was.
It more so felt like something was tearing at the back of his skull, pulling on all that made him.
"NO NO NO!" a voice- the King in Yellow- could be heard, the sound waves barging around his skull, only making the pain more and more unbearable.
A loud, primal scream of agony tore through him and as parts of his knowledge felt as if it had finally torn away, leaving deep scars.
Derek couldn't even think at this point, all the pain didn't allow it.
He yelled in agony once more until his feeble mortal body couldn't handle the King in Yellow and Derek's pain and he became unconscious, falling onto the carpet with a hard THUNK.
Soon, sirens could be heard outside. Another tenant got worried about the 10000000000 decibel screaming and the sudden thunk and lack of screaming from an apartment who no one had been in or out of for months, totally valid concern btw, and called 911.
