Feel free to skip, this is just a lil thing explaining why I'm doing this! This work is based on the Audio drama "Needles and Smiles" by Mr. Betty Krueger/MBK.

It's absolutely terrible, I do not support MBK or anyone involved, and I'm actually writing my own video essay on it! (follow @anothercrpworkshop on Tumblr for updates on that!)
I want to preface some things first:
1. The original drama was very shitty and mishandled a lot of its themes. I want to tackle what NaS tried to tackle, with more respect and seriousness, and add my own themes and play with some of the ideas.
I also don't support MBK in any way, and I am rewriting this as I wanna tap into the potential of this story as a concept and to test my own writing skills.
2. This is a Clockwork-centric story; she is the MC, she's not in the original, but she's in this. I thought she'd be more interesting, plus my specific version of Clockwork is based on my own IRL boyfriend, and likewise, Toby is based on myself, so this is gonna be a TicciWork story.
Sorry to all the toxi yaoi ethuthists, you should probably go to therapy instead of reading that shit anyway (that's right, calling a quarter of the Creepypasta fandom out)
ADDENDUM: I have decided to remove Jeff and his presence from this story. I think it's more accurate to describe this fic as "loosely based on NaS" rather than a direct rewrite. Sorry, gang, but "en famille" by "the_names_of_those_who_love_the_lord" and "New Needles and Old Smiles" by "Connection_Terminated13" are direct rewrites and, from what I hear, are pretty good.
3. Like making Clockwork the new MC instead of Jeff, I am making a lot of creative decisions. Along with Clockwork, I added Killing Kate, Nurse Ann, Bloody Painter, and more, but they're mostly cameos, I guess. Dr. Ferguson's name has also been changed to Dr. Roman, as Ferguson was the IRL name of MBK, and my friend advised that I shouldn't have that baggage.
4. While this is mostly for a fun project, I do wanna protray all my themes and stuff seriously, and if I get anything wrong, PLEASE tell me, I want to grow as a writer in the future, and let it be known: I am just a 17 year old schmuck, so don't expect the best but please critize me so that I may grow.
