Chapter Text
Vivian Potter was Victoria's mother. And Vivian loved Victoria, taught her everything there is to know of magic and the right path towards success.
But Vivian kept a great secret from her daughter. For her safety.
At least that is what she told herself every day, giving her and her daughter a false last name to protect her from him.
Voldemort.
Before Victoria Potter was born, her mother and her family fought against the powerful but dreadful wizard who came for them; they fought against what he claimed. The one he thought was great, but in their eyes, it was the exact opposite.
Vivian survived Voldemort's attacks against her family. She hid in the crowds and blended in during the war's depressing times. Avoiding his followers while also trying to keep poor Victoria away from all the evil that lingered around them.
Asking a dear friend to watch over her daughter until she could return to take care of her. Waiting out the storm until it is calm and safe enough for them.
After the tragic news of her brother James and his family, she knew it would not be safe for her or for her one-year-old baby, Victoria.
If he could get to James, it wouldn't be long until he found them. So she went back for Victoria, not long after, she faked her own death and started a new life far from there, representing a new name. Vivian Longhorn.
She stayed out of the public eye and did all she could to support Victoria as she grew up.
Victoria Longhorn is very ambitious, selfless, and smart. She attends the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and was placed in the same house as her mother when she attended. Bellefeuille House is known for being loyal, brave, and sensitive. She was very bright and loved reading Muggle books and camping with friends.
Her first two years at the academy were filled with so many great memories, and she loved each and every one of them, living every day with a smile on her face.
Until one morning, she received a letter from her mother, urgently telling her to come home. And just as her mother asked, she left.
Leaving all of her friends, her room, which was filled with many of her Muggle books and clothes. She would even be leaving her closest friend, Thomas.
Thomas Anderson.
He was a Muggle. He lived in an ordinary house in the middle of town, right next to the library where Victoria would visit every day after her first year at the academy, to get Muggle books. Thomas worked with his father, doing anything he could at the library. And each time Victoria visited, he would be there to help out with anything that she needed.
They got close ever since she first walked through the door, the year before she would start at Beauxbatons Academy.
Victoria even found herself going to the library, not to get a new book, but just to see him. And for the next three years, she did, until she received the letter. The one that would be the cause of the biggest change in her life.
Victoria was very sad she had to leave, but she told herself she would be back soon.
She didn't know just how wrong she was.
