Runaway

Summary:

Based off of "What if Sun was Evil?" 19-4-2026

After killing Moon and Monty, Eclipse and Sun have to escape before they get hunted down by Fazbear.

Chapter Text

After killing Moon and Monty, Eclipse had rushed Sun down to Parts & Services, quickly getting them separated then dragging Sun out of the Pizzaplex with him. Eclipse was quickly regretting bringing Sun along, since the other animatronic had kept complaining about a headache ever since they left the Pizzaplex, and Eclipse was convinced that it was just Sun being difficult, since they both knew Sun hated leaving the daycare, let alone the Pizzaplex as a whole.

Eventually, Eclipse got them out of the city and past a forest, where they had found a small, makeshift shelter out of twigs, probably made by some kids. It was getting dark and Eclipse didn’t want to sleep in the middle of the forest without some way to show that he was, in fact, still online and not just scrap. So, he suggested cuddling up under the makeshift shelter, and Sun hesitantly agreed.

Which was how Eclipse was currently awake, holding a sleeping Sun against his chest, trying to figure out what to do from there.

There was no doubt Fazbear would find Moon and Monty dead in front of the daycare soon. If not one of the workers, a kid and their parents during the morning drop-off. Fazbear would look at the security tapes, and to them, it would look like Sun just went ahead and killed both animatronics and fled. Fazbear would look for Sun, and if they found him, they’d kill him.

Eclipse would never admit it out loud, but over the two months he’d been stuck with Sun, he’d grown his own fondness to them, and it wasn’t in his best interests to let Fazbear get Sun now. Maybe he’d find some kind of use in the other animatronic, eventually. There was no point in getting rid of Sun so soon. Though maybe that was his Moon talking…

Eclipse let out a tired sigh, tightening his grip on Sun. He was really glad it wasn’t a rainy night, that would be a nightmare. Neither he, nor Sun were water proof, and if rain got on their motherboards, they’d both probably glitch out and malfunction. That was the last thing Eclipse wanted right now.

It took ages, but eventually Eclipse fell asleep, not that it mattered too much since he woke up again at the crack of dawn. Sun slept for two more hours, until the usual daycare opening time. Which checked out, Eclipse wasn’t sure what he expected, except maybe for Sun to wake up a bit earlier.

‘Moon...?’ Sun asked sleepily, leaning into Eclipse more.

‘No,’ responded Eclipse, ‘it’s Eclipse. Moon’s not here, remember?’

Sun didn’t respond for a second. ‘Oh, right.’

‘Yea.’ Eclipse ran his hand over Sun’s rays. ‘Go back to sleep, it’s still early.’

‘But the daycare...’ Sun whined.

‘How about this? I’ll take care of the daycare, and you get some sleep?’ Eclipse knew Sun wouldn’t go back to sleep if Eclipse mentioned that they were in a forest, not a daycare. He’d be too distressed. ‘How does that sound?’

‘Good,’ Sun replied, ‘thank you, Eclipse.’

‘No problem, Sunny.’ Eclipse ran his hand through Sun’s rays again, before getting up and leaving Sun leant against the tree. He decided he could go look for somewhere better to stay while Sun slept for a bit.

It didn’t take long before Eclipse found a small cabin. It was at the edge of the forest, next to a mountain. Sun could befriend the goats if he wanted to. That seemed like a Sun thing to do. Eclipse sighed and approached the cabin. Once he got there, he tried the handle to see if it was unlocked, and lucky for him, it was. Hopefully it was just abandoned, Eclipse didn’t feel much like killing more people today.

Eclipse had returned by the time Sun let his eyes open. Sun pushed himself off the tree and stretched out his arms before rubbing his eyes and looking back at Eclipse, who was leaning against another tree. Sun didn’t notice the red liquid oozing off Eclipse’s hands, seemingly the remnants of a bad clean job.

‘Eclipse? You’re back soon.’ Sun commented as he put his hands into his lap, then immediately pulling his hands away with a disgusted noise as he felt the mud on his pants.

‘Yea, I found a place for us to stay,’ Eclipse replied, ‘also, I’m not back soon, it’s about noon.’

‘Oh...’ Sun looked back up at Eclipse. ‘Well, um, where’s the new place?’

Eclipse gestured for Sun to follow as he turned and started walking. Sun quickly got up and followed, trying to not start talking as fast as he can to fill the air with questions about the new place. He didn’t want to annoy Eclipse after he’d killed Moon and Monty.

Eventually, they reached the cabin, and Sun instantly loved it. The view was going to be beautiful in the mornings if he was at the back of the cabin. The view of the sun rising over the mountains. The only times Sun had ever left the Pizzaplex were to look at his namesake, but never for long since he always got crazy headaches. His current headache had mostly died down, but it was still there. Eclipse had gotten annoyed when he complained about it though, so Sun had shut up for now.

‘I haven’t picked a room yet,’ Eclipse remarked, ‘it’s got two bedrooms though. One at the back, one by the front.’

Sun felt disappointed at that. He had kind of wanted to stay in the same room as Eclipse, but it made sense that Eclipse wouldn’t really be okay with that, and he didn’t want to push his luck.

‘Could I have the bedroom at the back then?’ Sun asked.

Eclipse nodded, then continued to walk, guiding Sun into the house. Sun happily followed Eclipse in, looking around the house as they both walked. It was pretty well furnished, which felt odd since it didn’t seem like a human was currently living there. Maybe the place came pre-furnished, or Eclipse went out and got furniture while Sun was asleep.

Eclipse lead them to the back of the house where Sun’s room was. He opened the door to show the simple but pretty room. There was one long window that showed the mountains in exactly the way Sun had imagined them. The window was at the end of the bed, which seemed like a king single bed. It was pressed against the wall with plain yellow bedding. There was a desk on the other side of the window, the length of it pressed against the other wall. Sun didn’t know what he’d use that for, but he’d figure something out eventually. Other than that, there was a simple cartoon sun rug, that only seemed to confirm Sun’s thought that Eclipse furnished the house himself, or at least just this room.

‘So? What do you think?’ asked Eclipse, leaning against the doorframe.

‘I really, really like it. Thank you Eclipse!’ Sun started, already rambling before he could think too much about it. ‘Imagine that view of mountains in the early morning, it would look so pretty with all of the pinks and yellows running over the snow on the mountains. And I love the rug, it’s a sun like me! And the bedsheets are my favourite colour, did you know yellow was my favourite colour or was that just a funny coincidence? I’m not sure what I’ll do with the desk yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out, but thank you so much, Eclipse.’

Eclipse let out a small chuckle. It was almost endearing how much Sun could ramble once excited about something as simple as a bedroom.

‘Don’t mention it, Sun. I’m just glad you like the room.’ Eclipse found himself ruffling Sun’s rays again before he could really think about it. It almost felt natural to the more closed-off animatronic at this point.

‘Do you need food?’ Eclipse questioned, not sure if Sun actually needed to eat. He knew he didn’t since he didn’t have the time to add that to himself in seperation. His body was the most basic thing he could deal with being in at the moment. Once he got more stuff, he could change that though.

‘I don’t think we need food,’ Sun remarked, ‘I don’t think Monty added that to me. He didn’t really try very hard making my body, since he doesn’t like me very much. Moon might’ve needed to eat, but I doubt he *needed* to eat, you know? Because he’d be busy in his lab and would forget-’

‘Okay, thank you, Sun,’ Eclipse quickly cut the other off, not wanting to listen to a whole ramble about how Monty would’ve given Moon certain things without giving them to Sun.

Eclipse wasn’t really sure what to do now. It felt too early to go back to sleep, despite how tired Eclipse was. His eyes went down to the mud covered cuffs of Sun’s pants. Sun was definitely going to want to wash that off as soon as he could.

‘Bathroom’s the room next to yours. Go wash off and I’ll take you to get some new clothes.’ Eclipse waved his hand in an uncaring gesture before leaving the room to let Sun to do what he wanted. Eclipse decided to go to his room to lie down for a bit before taking Sun to the stores.
