All Over The Road

Notes:

Quick one-shot that I've had on my mind. I plan to keep writing but short stories are working out better than adding to multi-chaps since having a newborn. I have no clue what inspired this one but enjoy!

Work Text:

He walked to the driver’s side door still shaking his head at his tipsy wife whom he had just helped into the passenger seat.

Slam. Click.

His hands left the door’s interior and the strap of the seatbelt when his body suddenly jolted from a quick startle reflex.

She had reached over and grabbed his thigh. Hard. At his shaken response, she giggled under her breath and repeated the motion. Higher. Harder.

“Diane, wait until we get home.”

Words that meant nothing. He knew she was too fired up not to tease him. He liked it.

She leaned over and whispered in his ear. Naughty. Sexy.

He took her hand and kissed her finger tips. He took his eyes off of her but she didn’t miss how it made him blush.

He turned the key in the ignition and made a half-hearted attempt to control his speeding habit. The odds of staying within the limit were low especially when it meant getting her home.

The drive was far from peaceful. The slightest touch from her had him ready to pull over. Her hands wandered over him. Her teeth bit into her lip. She trailed kisses from his ear to the corner of his mouth.

They were almost home but he pulled over on the side of the road; not on account of her but for the red and blue flashing in his rearview.

“Sir, I would assume you know why I pulled you over tonight?”

“I didn’t think I was speeding,” Kurt offered as he handed over his driver’s license and vehicle registration.

The officer verified the information then explained the reasoning behind the stop.

“How many drinks have you had tonight?”

Kurt furrowed his brow. Diane was as inebriated as Kurt loved getting her but he had stopped himself at two beers and that had been hours ago.

“Sir, you’ve been swerving all over the road for the last mile and a half.”

Kurt blushed again but this time from embarrassment and not the doings of his wife.

“I can explain,” he said nervously.

The officer adjusted his belt and stood sternly. Kurt was almost afraid he’d actually have to give an explanation.

His lips parted and a small breath escaped before Diane interrupted.

She leaned over on the center console; her silk blouse falling open at the top.

“It was my fault, officer. He got a bit distracted,” she said batting her eyes like a head-over-heels school girl. She bit her lip as she caught a glance at Kurt.

He cut his eyes over to Diane while the officer ran his license and returned to their vehicle. She knew she’d be in trouble with him over this later.

The officer returned with a loosened expression and gave a warning to assure they arrived home safely.

“Take it easy, sir. I’ll let it slide this time but just so you know, I could have issued a breathalyzer and full sobriety check.”

Kurt apologized and promised that wouldn’t be necessary.

Diane thanked him for his service to the community; a habit she attempted to uphold in court or while working with law enforcement.

The officer started to walk away but turned back just as he took his hand away from Kurt’s window.

“Have a good evening, Ms. Lockhart,” he said and smirked.

They watched as the squad car pulled ahead in front of them.

Kurt raised a curious eyebrow at her as they sat in silence along the roadside.

“He’s a bailiff down at the courthouse. I guess he picked up an extra weekend shift as deputy.”

“Mhm. Well, let’s keep our hands to ourself for the time being, Ms. Lockhart.”

Kurt started the car again. Diane placed her hand on top of his and drew circles with her fingertips.

Kurt gave her a stern look to readdress what he had just told her.

“Sorry, didn’t know the rules also applied to Mrs. McVeigh,” she said withdrawing her hand.

He chuckled.

He took his left hand off the steering wheel and slid it across her cheek and into her hair while capturing her smirked expression in a searing kiss. His tongue fought with hers until he had it so deep it took the breath straight from her lungs.

He pulled back slowly. Their eyes locked. He put the car in drive and pulled away - this time not caring about the speed limit signs he never saw.
