Work Text:
Dr. Blinky heard a soft baby cry. He lazily arose from his blankets and got up. He walked through the house looking at all the framed photos of his husband Ludicrous, himself and their newborn daughter Dakota.
When, Dr. Blinky finally reached his daughter’s nursery he opened the door. The crying had gotten louder when he opened it. He turned on the small lamp next to the door. Blinky walked toward Dakotas crib and gently picked her up. As he picked her up Dakotas crying had gotten softer.
Dr. Blinky smiled at the small baby, and walked her to the cushioned rocking chair in the right corner of the room. He sat down very softly to not hurt his daughter, and gently rocked her back and forth in the chair.
Dr. Blinky softly hummed a tune. He was so quiet Dakota and himself could only hear it. He sat with the baby and rocked her for a short while, occasionally rubbing her small head or playfully booping her nose, that made Dakota wiggle and laugh.
But soon the tiny child would fall asleep in her father’s arms. Dr. Blinky noticed her falling asleep, eyes getting drowsy. So, he picked her up and walked her back to her crib and set her down, but without not giving her a small forehead kiss. “Goodnight sweetheart, I love you.” Dr. Blinky said.
Blinky made sure Dakota was really asleep, before he could leave the room. Dakota was already asleep by the time he made it back to the crib. So Blinky, walked out of his daughters room but not before softly turning off the lamp and closing the door.
