bedsheets remained a mess full of tangled limbs as the morning sun poured in through the window, slowly bringing the room to life and giving it a cozy atmosphere.
su-bong stirred, being woken by nothing in particular. he was often the first to wake up but that wasn't something that the purple-haired male minded very much, he actually looked forward to it because it meant that he got to watch his boyfriend sleep comfortably beside him. some might accuse him of being a creep, nam-gyu certainly had in the past, however there was just something about getting to watch his boyfriend be so peaceful that made su-bong truly feel at peace himself.
he shifted beneath the warmth of the covers ever so slightly in order to get himself a better view. nam-gyu was laid on his side, snoring softly with his black hair perfectly framing his face despite the mess that it was in from sleep. the ravenette always insisted that he looked terrible in the mornings but su-bong could never quite understand why he thought such a thing. he was gorgeous. a small smile appeared on the older male's face as he watched the younger in a mix of awe and admiration. nam-gyu's freckles were perfectly visible on his skin from the sunlight. they were one of many features of his boyfriend that su-bong absolutely adored.
life had been a lot for the both of them ever since the games had ended after mingle. he could remember how frustrated and completely gutted he had felt as he had watched them lose the vote. he had spiralled once he had left that place. he and nam-gyu had been separated which had only made things harder at the time. he had felt completely alone. he had no money to pay off his debts with and no money to give to his mother for all that he had borrowed from her over the years. he had felt like a complete and utter failure all over again. the first four months after being released from captivity had felt like complete torture. by some miracle or divine intervention, he had managed to locate nam-gyu after four months of searching and within the first moment that they had locked eyes for the first time in four months he had felt like all of his prayers had been answered (and he wasn't even religious). he had moved in with nam-gyu and they had properly began their relationship from that first night at home together.
ever since then it had just been the two of them and he truly wouldn't want things any other way. the whole world could be burning down around him but as long as he had nam-gyu there with him then everything was just fine. the apartment, located in a rundown neighborhood in seoul that nam-gyu had been living in since he was eighteen, had suddenly become a sanctuary for the two of them. it already held so many memories for su-bong, such as their reunion at the front door, movie nights on the couch, dancing in the kitchen and plenty of lovemaking in the bedroom.
the room, although it was rather small, held much personality. one nightstand displayed a glasses case, mobile phone, a couple of silver rings and an ashtray which had a framed photograph of two smiling individuals; it had been taken in the form of a selfie and reflected the very first night that thanos had ever stepped foot into club pentagon. that must have been about a year or so ago by now. the other nightstand displayed a mobile phone, a silver cross locket and a vape that was currently on charge. opposite to the bed, the closet consisted of one side full of colourful and vibrant clothing, and the other side consisted of more muted tones. this place was completely theirs and it proved that they didn't need to be living like kings in order to live. suddenly living no longer felt like surviving.
nam-gyu slowly began to blink his eyes open as he regained consciousness by the time that the morning sun had taken over most of their little shared bedroom. the first thing he saw when he woke up was su-bong, just as it usually was. he stretched a little as a sleepy smile appeared on his face, "i told you to stop watching me when i sleep, you creep." su-bong could only smile affectionately at his partner as he leaned in to kiss his forehead. "mornin' handsome." he greeted him softly which only made the ravenette's smile grow in size, "hi." he greeted him in return.
"you looked like you slept good." su-bong teased fondly as he continued to stare at his boyfriend as they both remained on their sides staring at each other. "mhmm." nam-gyu purred, still trying to properly wake up. "i don't wanna leave this bed, you. i wanna stay here all day." su-bong smiled again and reached over to wrap an arm around his boyfriend's frame to pull him closer towards him which the younger male happily let happen as he snuggled up against the purple-haired male's bare chest. "so then stay, we don't gotta get up for anything, we can just stay here like this all day." su-bong replied truthfully. he certainly wasn't planning on getting up for anything, having a lazy bed day with his boyfriend was much more important, it was priority number one.
nam-gyu lifted his head up ever so slightly, just to be able to see his lover's face. su-bong stared down at him and leaned in to connect their lips into a soft kiss which nam-gyu was quick to reciprocate. "i love you." the ravenette mumbled into the kiss which only made su-bong smiled against his lips, "love you more, jagiya." he replied truthfully as he continued to kiss his love's lips and brought his other hand up to gently cup the ravenette's cheek while his other arm still remained wrapped around his boyfriend in order to keep him close, "nuh-uh." nam-gyu attempted to protest as he pulled away from the older male. "it's true though, i love you so much i even let you put your cold feet on me and snore right in my face all night." su-bong replied confidently. "i do not snore." nam-gyu protested again, much more awake now than he was just moments ago. "oh but you do, it makes me feel so sorry for our neighbours." the older male teased playfully. he was anything but sorry for their neighbours who had to put up with hearing much more than just nam-gyu's snoring during the night. judging by the amount of noise complaints that they had recieved, they didn't have many fans in this building but that was fine.
just as long as they had each other, then everything would be.
