The air was cold, Despite how warm the faewild shouldve felt right now, It was nowhere near any artic areas or anything cold, Only thing stood in the overgrown area of the faewild was a giant tree that seemed to also harbour something within it, A beast, Atleast thats what towns people dubbed it, Able to grant people stuff at a cost, A cost most people don't seem to realize when making deals with it, Though of course a fae would know the terms when doing this stuff, Which in this case a certain fae's deal seemed to have gone null...
The furred being let out a snarl-like laugh as it watched one of its strings on the tree snap, Dropping a burnt star, Landing onto its head and slipping into its clawed hand, "Awe did the little bird get to close to the sun..? I expected this to happen sooner then it did but who am i to judge.." It spoke, Its voice deep but also echoey sounding somehow, As with its extra arms form new strings, These were more green looking then the white ones on the tree
It held the strings in its hand as it slowly moved to the hole in the tree, Seemingly where it stored everything, "Now where did i put y– Ah! There you are" It exclaimed, Pulling out a skeleton from a corner, Making sure it didn't accidentally crush the bones, As it layed the skeleton on the ground—Crushing the burnt star into dust as it weaved the almost web-like string in its hands, Before placing it onto the skeleton as it put its hand above the skeleton
After a couple seconds the skeleton started seeming more human as it formed, After a couple more seconds the skeleton was now a full human, As her eyes widened before sitting up and coughing a bunch, Trying to get the burnt stardust out of her body and after a good while she did, Sighing a bit before suddenly realizing
"Wait– Arent i...Why am i alive??" The vex fae, Fang, Looked around confused before her eyes landed on the furred beast, "What happened? Why am i alive? The deal—" She was cut off by a low pitched laugh, As the thing stared at her for a couple seconds before speaking, "Well the deal seems to be off now...A certain little songbird seems to have flew to close to the sun.." It looked at her with a creepy grin, Fang just sat there, Trying to process what he said, "Wait– Wait a minute..You- You said you could stop it..! You said you could as long as i held my end of the deal..." Fang stood up suddenly, Wobbling a bit before retaining her balance, Her tail twitching in annoyance, It just stared before speaking again, "And i did, You never specified where it could be held back and how long it would be held back for.."
Fang just stood there frozen, Processing everything before suddenly trying to lunge at the furred beast, It laughed as it moved out the way, Head tilted as it watched the vex fae's frustration, "You know trying to kill me isnt going to fix your little situation...You should be more worried about your little toy if anything.." It said, Smiling creepily, This just pissed fang off more
"I– She isnt–! Ughh..She's not a toy....I just need to find her.." Fang muttered, Tail still twitching a bit, "You should know where she is right?" Fang asked, Almost demanding an answer from the beast, It stared, Almost as if in thought before sighing and speaking, "Far north in the artic....Maybe you should go now before the hive decides your little toy isnt a worthy host..." It smiled wide, Almost like something in a horror movie
Fang quickly looked around before starting to run north, Trying to go as fast as her legs could take her after only being revived a couple minutes ago, The beast stared as she took off, Laughing a bit before suddenly climbing up the tall tree to where the hollow part of the tree was, About to go in before stopping itself and looking to the right of itself, "Well look who it is, You haven't been here in years"
The shadow looked up at the beast, Smiling before crouching on the large branch, Revealing what seemed to be an unseelie fae, Its secondary arms holding onto the branch to atleast give some sort of balance, "Well i just wanted to see an old friend..!" It stated, Wings twitching a bit, The furred beast stared before snorting, "Your a liar..You only ever come when you actually need something.." The beast stated, Staring at the unseelie
"Awe you know me too well...I just...Want to know where that fae went" The unseelie spoke, Its voice holding an unsettling tone as it stood, Stretching its wings a bit, "You only want to kill that fae don't you..." The furred beast sighed, Going back to it hollow to sort stuff before gasping, "I– What are you doing here get out!" It yelled, Going inside to smack something before a very large wolf ran out, Slipping and falling before eventually returning to the unseelies side, Whining a bit, Its eyes almost looking like an eclipse though its left eye seemed to be missing, Like someone took it out themselves with a knife
The unseelie looked at the wolf before laughing a bit, "You dont have to be so rude to my pet.." It grinned a bit, Going and patting the wolf on the head, "Yeah well we both know its not just a pet & a actual person..." The beast grimaced a bit, before returning to what it was originally doing while continuing to talk, "How are you going to kill that fae anyways...If she's headed to a town i dont think you'd be able to go there without being spotted or anything" The unseelie groaned a bit, Looking around before its eyes landed on the wolf, "I could send fallon after her" It stated, Wings fluttering slightly, The furred beast paused for a second before looking at the unseelie, Confused, "How are you going to get that kid out there? Its not like he can leave this place without his body deciding its going to kill itself!" The beast growled, Ears pinning back
"Easy, I make a deal with you." The unseelie said, Hand held out to the beast, "As long as i live fallon can leave the faewild with no problems..." It said, One of its secondary hands still petting fallon, Who seemed to just gruff in response, The furred beast just stared, Looking at the unseelie before getting a wicked grin on its face, "And if you fail on gettting that little fae...You give me your life" It stated, Getting closer to the unseelie as it grabbed onto its hand, Basically seeling the deal
The unseelie sighed before letting go and looking at fallon, Before nodding, "Go", Fallon Stared before slowly jumping down the tree and hitting the ground before running off in the same direction as fang, Letting out gruffs and growls every now and then
Fallon wasnt sure what would happen
But he didn't doubt nyra
He trusted her
Maybe too much
