Work Text:

Way before starting this mission in Nod-Krai, Sandrone knew Dottore would make an appearance sooner or later. She knew very well that she wouldn’t survive against the Doctor. How could she? She was seventh, he was second. So, what did she do? She had Pulonia scan her core, and then reconstructed her core, as a replacement, if needed. She sent it off to Fontaine. Dottore has no reason to enter Fontaine, Irimisul isn’t there, nor are the moon marrows.
. . .
“Arlecchino, shall I fail on this mission, I want you to take my remains to Fontaine. Freminet knows what to do from then on.”
“What do you mean Freminet knows what to do?” The Knave questioned.
“I can’t tell you. Don’t tell Columbina either.”
The Knave sighed, then shaked her head. “Very well.”

. . .
Now, meeting after meeting, it was time to fight the Doctor. They could only do so much, The top three harbingers have power comparable to gods. On top of that, he kept snatching their foe away! Fight fairly at least! Until it came down to just Sandrone, Pulonia, and Lumine. She died on that field, not like she knew she wouldn’t. Just like how she knew what she didn’t want.
“Go to hell, Dottore.” The puppet squeezed out before getting stabbed by one of his contraptions. As her body fell, so did the backbone of this plan. Or not. Everything malfunctioned. Sparks flew as Dottore prepared to finish off Lumine. Until the moon broke through the false sky. Seeing this, Dottore closed it up again, but failed. The Frostmoon’s light spilled through the battle field, before anyone could process anything, a huge pair of wings sprouted, and the Trilune goddess, the one and only moon goddess of this world appeared. All of the foe Dottore took away came back, were they going to win this?! With everyone’s combined efforts and Columbina’s support, it worked. They won. They actually did it, but at what cost..? As Columbina floated down, she noticed Sandrone’s body. She rushed over to hold her. She knelt down and cradled her.
“Sandrone… I’m not sure what death counts as for a puppet. All I know is Sandrone isn’t moving, and I can’t feel her operating. Her key has just…stopped. She did say she would get back at me that one time, how I wish this is all this was…just an attempt to scare me..”
“Columbina…” Paimon said solemnly while placing a hand on her chest.

. . .
Days passed. Since the crisis in Nod-Krai was resolved, Arlecchino had no reason to stay in Nod-Krai. Besides, she still has to fulfill Sandrone’s wish. She bid her farewells to her friends of Nod-Krai, and arrived back at the House of The Hearth.
“Freminet, Sandrone said that you knew what to do shall she ever fail. You know what to do, correct? I’d hate to leave her wish unfulfilled.”
“Yes, Father.”
Freminet locked himself in that room for days. Sparks flew, tools drawn, and the other children of the Hearth could have sworn he burnt himself quite a few times. A week later, Freminet finally emerged from the room. Well actually, Sandrone did with Freminet in her arms looking utterly exhausted and spent. Wait, SANDRONE?!
Lyney was near the corridor and noticed his little brother was basically dead. “Huh? Freminet-? MISS SANDRONE!?” Arlecchino, who heard the ruckus, looked over, to see…the Marionette…
“Sandrone? You-” The Knave paused before sighing. “I should’ve known you planned something like this. I’m sure Columbina would be delighted to see you survived. How about we take a trip to Nod-Krai after Freminet is all taken care of?”
“What?! You’d really think that I'd even bother to see Columbina? Ok fine.”

. . .
A few days later with planning and sending Lauma a letter to contact Columbina, they arrived at Nasha town. Not soon after, they arrived at Silver Moon Hall.
“Columbina? Are you here?” Arlecchino asked.
“Hm? Arlecchino..? Is that Sandrone..?” Columbina had her eyes closed, but since she can sense things with the kuuvahki, she was easily able to figure out Sandrone was there.
“Yes, hi, hello.”
Upon hearing that voice, she opened her lavender orbs and saw the blonde woman standing there behind Arlecchino. Her eyes widened and ran over, hugging Columbina.
“How is this possible?! Did you create segments like Dottore?!” Columbina asked frantically.
“No, I didn’t. I reconstructed my core in Fontaine.”
“I’m so glad you’re here…I thought you died..like..for real.”
“Hey now! Don’t cry!” Sandrone cried. “If I invite you to my next tea party, will you cease the crying?!”
Columbina sniffled. “O-okay..” She said, while wiping her tears.

They had many tea parties.
