Hello Kitty

Summary:

Rin’s parents aren’t home for the weekend. Figuring he has nothing better to do, he invites Isagi over just to kill time.

They end up watching a movie, both of them not realising that it had some sexual parts in it before it was too late.

Rin feels blue eyes staring holes into the side of his face, trying his hardest to ignore the piercing gaze.

He can’t ignore it forever, though.

OR;

Rin invites Isagi over to his house and they do a bit more than just watch a movie.

Chapter 1: Pretty

Chapter Text

Rin flops down onto his bed with a bored sigh, back hitting the mattress as he stares at the ceiling blankly.

His parents are out of town for the whole weekend, apparently because of something business-related.

Rin didn’t pay much attention to what they had said, after all, it’s not like this was anything new.

They are constantly away, leaving him alone in the big, lonely house. The silence eats at him most of the time, a bit too quiet for his taste, but it’s okay. He doesn’t mind, he actually likes it.

Letting out a quiet exhale, he grabs his phone that was resting on his bedside table. For a few minutes, he just aimlessly scrolls through random news articles, getting increasingly more bored with each one.

Great, apparently nothing interesting was happening at the moment.

He was just about to turn his phone off and maybe go on a walk or something like that, when he receives a text from someone.

That someone being his number one rival on the field, Isagi Yoichi.

He only has his number because Isagi insisted on it, spouting some bullshit about wanting to hang out with him.

Yeah, right.

As if Rin would ever want to hang out with him out of all people.

Rin ignores the voice in his head telling him that he does want to hang out with Isagi, choosing not to acknowledge it. It’s not important.

He clicks on the message he had gotten, scoffing once he realises Isagi had sent him a stupid video about their ‘friendship’.

Who the hell told him that he was his friend?

Fuck no.

As if Rin would even want to be something as stupid as that with him. They are just rivals, nothing more, nothing less.

Or at least, that’s what he tries telling himself.

For a while, he had been confused about his feelings towards Isagi.

Frowning whenever he feels his heart pick up in pace every time he was around Isagi. Trying to clutch at his chest if his heart started to race like crazy if Isagi even grazes him. Getting irritated if his cheeks heat up at Isagi’s laugh, or his stupid smile. Wanting to kill himself whenever he catches himself thinking that Isagi wasn’t all that bad-looking.

He looked up these ‘symptoms’ of sickness on Google, being absolutely baffled when all the results he got were filled with the same word.

Love.

How ridiculous. Him? He was in love? And with Isagi of all people, too?

What a joke. He ignored everything, how he actually felt every little thing stated in the search results. If he avoided Isagi, then he could easily get over him, right?

Wrong.

Isagi didn’t let him ignore him, he was constantly around Rin, trying to get him to socialise. Rin tried his hardest to get Isagi to leave him alone, but it never worked. Eventually, he gave up and just let Isagi buzz around him like an annoying mosquito.

Snapping out of his daydream, he types out a quick insult to Isagi, calling him a dumbass, his lips threatening to twitch up into a little smile when Isagi complains about what he had been called, something about him needing to respect his seniors.

He was about to leave him on seen and continue with what he was doing, when an idea pops into his head.

Parents aren’t home. He’s home alone. The house is empty.

Why should he be bored out of his mind when he has an easy solution to that?

He can just invite Isagi over and have him entertain him, not that hard. It’s not like Isagi never came over, he visited Rin a few times, mostly just to chatter his ears off about something dumb.

Making up his mind, he notices Isagi’s text bubbles showing up underneath, probably to whine about how Rin left him on read.

Rin: Come over, parents aren’t home

Waiting for a reply, he rolls his eyes when Isagi evidently stops typing just to start again, and then stops again. Is it that hard to just say ‘yes’?

Isagi: WHAG

Isagi: EHAT

Isagi: WHAT

Isagi: RIN????

Isagi: WHAT

Rin frowns.

Why the hell is he so shocked? It’s making him feel a little nervous, he almost wants to take back what he said, but it was too late. And he really is bored.

Rin: What?

Isagi: YOU WANT ME TO COME OVER???

Isagi: why?? are you sure??? are you okay?

Isagi: did something happen?

Rin: Why are you typing like that? Just come over, idiot

Isagi: HWHAT

Isagi: OKAY

Isagi: I WILL

Isagi: CAN I SLEEP OVER TOO?

Okay, now he was asking for too much. Telling Asking him to come over was already generous enough, now he wants to sleep over? Rin was about to type out a hard no, but he reconsiders. After a few seconds, he clicks his tongue and begins typing again.

Rin: I guess

Isagi: REALLY?

Rin: Do you want me to take it back

Isagi: NO

Isagi: NONONO

Isagi: i’m leaving rn, i’ll be there in 20!

Isagi: see you later rin <3

He ignores how his heart started beating faster at that dumb heart.

Rin: Ok

Closing the app, Rin tosses his phone to the side before standing up and stretching. He runs a hand through his hair, the strands wet because of his earlier shower. He might need to blow-dry his hair first before Isagi gets over here. Huffing, he makes his way towards his bathroom, thinking about what they were going to do.

Maybe a movie?

Meanwhile, Isagi was having a mental breakdown.

He was just sitting in his room, wanting to text Rin but didn’t know how to start a conversation without getting snapped at. Or getting left on read.

Yeah he was hopeless, so what?

Fortunately, he finds a friendship video that perfectly describes his relationship with Rin.

Ecstatic, he quickly sends the video to Rin and waits for a response, smiling stupidly when Rin calls him a dumbass.

He was so in love with Rin, and he knew it, too.

That’s why he subtly flirts with him, teases him constantly, but Rin doesn’t take the hints. His obliviousness never bothered Isagi though, in fact, he likes it.

It made it more fun to poke fun at him, made him even cuter. Even though Rin never took the little hints, that never deterred Isagi from shooting his shot.

After all, he knows Rin likes him back.

How could he not know? Rin is genuinely so obvious, even though he tries not to be. Isagi loves the cute little pink hue on his cheeks, it makes him look adorable. He doesn’t want to rush things though, so he’s taking it slow.

His eyes nearly bulge out of his sockets when Rin demands that he come over, face immediately exploding in red. He feels heat crawl up his neck, his ears, literally everywhere.

He panics, fumbling with his hands before he types out multiple responses, his brain shutting down.

Is Rin aware that he made it sound like he wanted to hook up with him?

Surely not, right?

He knows him, he’d never say something like that with ulterior motives. Still, the message makes him swallow thickly while he gets up and changes his clothes with lightning speed, excited to see Rin again. He grabs a random shirt and a pair of jeans, heart pounding in his ears.

It’s not every day that Rin invites him over. Grabbing a jacket, he almost passes out when Rin tells him that he could sleep over, as well. He is seriously so lucky.

Randomly grabbing a bag and shoving all the necessities he needs in it, he nearly trips over his own feet as he rushes downstairs.

Telling his parents that he was going to sleep over at his friend’s house, he hastily puts on his shoes before almost running into the door, a stupid grin on his face as he opens the door and leaves with quick steps.

He hopes today is the day he takes the next step and asks Rin to be his boyfriend. Or maybe just a kiss, too. A little peck can’t hurt, right?

Rin’s lips looked so soft all the time, Isagi’s eyes always drifted towards them before forcing himself to focus on something else.

They were right there, begging to be kissed profusely.

So unfair, really.

Rin was busy fluffing the pillows on the couch in his living room, waiting for Isagi to arrive. He had also cleaned up a bit, sweeping the floor even though it was practically sparkly clean, no sight of any dust anywhere.

He was just about to sit down when the doorbell rang, knowing who it was.

Pausing, he takes a deep breath in, mentally preparing himself. He’s feeling nervous, more than nervous, actually.

Why?

It’s just Isagi, nothing is going to happen. They are just going to spend the weekend together, and that’s it.

So why does it feel different now?

Sighing, he makes his way towards the front door, places a hand on the handle and opens the door.

Looking down, his eyes meet big, blue irises, the same shade of blue he always sees in his dreams. The same blue he could never escape.

Isagi stands there on the doorstep, slightly out of breath like he had rushed all the way over, his bag slung awkwardly over one shoulder. A few strands of his hair were sticking up in different directions, probably from running his hand through it too many times.

He looks up, lips stretching into a kind smile, looking extremely excited. He adjusts the bag on his shoulder, running a hand through his messy hair.

“Rin!” he says, voice laced with something akin to fondness and something else that Rin couldn’t name. There is a certain sparkle in his eyes when he gazes into Rin’s teal ones, like he’s genuinely happy to see him.

Rin ignores his heart racing at Isagi’s stare.

His brows knit together faintly, giving Isagi an unamused glance

“Did you run here?” he asks flatly, crossing his arms. Isagi blinks, startled, before rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, a pink tint on his cheeks.

“Uh— maybe a little,” he admits, letting out a nervous laugh. “I didn’t want to keep you waiting.”

“Besides, I really wanted to see you.”

His voice sounds warmer than usual, softer somehow, and Rin feels that familiar, annoying flutter in his chest again.

How irritating.

Rin clicks his tongue, stepping aside to let him in.

“Shut up and just get in,” he mutters, ignoring the faint red creeping up his neck, and looks off to the side with furrowed eyebrows.

What he doesn’t notice is that Isagi saw the blush on his cheeks, and an amused smirk plants itself on his lips.

Rin really is cute.

Staring at Rin’s face for a few seconds, he slips past him and goes into the house, taking off his shoes immediately.

“Your house is really nice, y’know?” he says, turning his head to give Rin a sweet smile, one that makes Rin want to bash his head against the wall.

How can he just give smiles like that so easily? Like he didn’t know what it was doing to him?

Isagi did know what he was doing, he’s just good at hiding his amusement. Teasing Rin is just too entertaining, who could blame him?

“You’ve been here multiple times,” Rin huffs, quickly avoiding deep blue eyes as he closes the door behind him with a soft click, the sound echoing slightly through the empty house.

Isagi laughs softly, and Rin hates how it makes his heart feel all fuzzy inside.

Gross.

On second thought, maybe he should kick Isagi out. He doesn’t like how he always manages to drawl these stupid feelings out of him.

“Yeah, but it still doesn’t change the fact that you have a really nice house, Rin.”

Isagi gives him a toothy grin, shifting his bag off his shoulder and setting it down near the couch. He glances back at Rin with that same bright expression that makes his chest feel tight.

Rin chooses not to reply, instead, he’s too focused on the pounding of his heart.

“So,” Isagi begins, rocking slightly on his heels.

“What are we doing this weekend?” he asks, stepping a bit closer to Rin while tilting his head, clearly enjoying the way Rin becomes visibly more flustered at the proximity.

Stupid Isagi, step back.

Doesn’t he know personal space? Rin thinks with irritation.

Yet he makes no move to actually create some distance between them.

“I don’t know,” Rin says in a flat voice, staring down at Isagi with a blank expression.

He genuinely doesn’t know what to do, it’s not like he had any friends when he was younger to do these kinds of stuff. Like sleepovers, or hangouts.

He searched for ideas on Google, but he hated all of them. Truth or dare? That had to be a joke, so lame.

Isagi blinks in surprise before letting out a loud laugh. Rin quickly grows annoyed at his laughter, even though he likes how it sounds.

“Why the hell are you laughing, shitty Isagi?” he scowls, resisting the urge to punch Isagi as he watches him slowly calm down.

“I’m sorry, Rin— You invited me over and you have no idea what to do?” he chuckles, smiling at Rin with fondness in his gaze.

“You’re a bad host,” he teases lightly, stifling another laugh when Rin gets increasingly more irritated.

“Shut up, I fucking hate you. Do you have any ideas?” he grits his teeth, glaring at Isagi.

Isagi grins at that, grabbing Rin’s hand, and quickly drags him towards the couch, ignoring his protests.

He likes having Rin’s hand in his.

He tightens his hold before forcing Rin to sit down, sitting down next to him with a cheeky smile on his face. He keeps his hold on Rin’s hand for a few more seconds before letting go, even though he didn’t want to.

Rin’s cheeks are flushed a pretty red, swallowing slightly while snatching his hand back after Isagi lets it go, he could hear his heart beating rapidly in his ears.

“What?” he mutters when Isagi keeps staring at him with some sort of look in his blue irises.

Isagi snaps out of his trance, accidentally admiring Rin’s beauty. Shaking his head, he gives him a small smile.

“Do you wanna watch a movie?” he asks, scooting a bit closer to Rin. Rin lets it happen, and Isagi internally cheers at that.

“I guess. We’re watching a horror movie, though.” Isagi’s face visibly pales at that, giving Rin his best pleading face as he whines.

“But Rin! You know I don’t like horror stuff,” he leans in closer, giving Rin puppy eyes. Rin feels his heart almost jump out of his chest at the look he’s receiving, cheeks flushing impossibly redder.

Isagi is being extremely unfair.

He clicks his tongue, pushing Isagi’s face away from his when he gets a bit too close, looking away with red cheeks, not seeing Isagi’s small smirk.

“Shut up, I don’t care. We’re watching something horror related.”

The smirk on Isagi’s face instantly vanishes at that, whining even more before reluctantly pulling away and sitting with his arms crossed, leaning back with a little pout on his lips.

“You’re so mean.”

Rin’s eyes zero in on his lips, before frowning and snapping his head away from the tantalising sight.

Isagi notices him looking at his lips but doesn’t say anything, trying his best not to just grab Rin and kiss that frown right off of his pretty lips.

Rin clears his throat, successfully grabbing Isagi’s attention when he looks up to meet his eyes.

“Are you hungry?” he says, holding eye contact with him, even though it was killing him to keep staring into those stupidly big eyes.

Isagi’s eyes creeped him out sometimes. Why are they so big, and why did those same pair of eyes look at him as if they could actually stare into his soul?

He doesn’t like it, doesn’t like how Isagi somehow always knows what he is thinking or feeling.

Isagi hums at that, lips curling upwards into a teasing smile.

“Why? You gonna cook for me?” he leans in, smile widening when Rin’s face heats up evidently. Rin pushes his face away with his hand, grumbling under his breath.

“Ugh. You’re so annoying, gross. Never mind, then,” he mutters, lips tugging downwards into a grimace.

Isagi laughs at that. Gently grabbing Rin’s wrist and settling it down onto his lap instead, he plays with his fingers for a little while, a soft smile on his lips now.

“I’m not hungry. Thank you for asking, though.”

Rin feels his cheeks burn hotter at the touch of his fingers before exhaling quietly, letting Isagi play with his fingers while he reaches for the remote.

“Whatever.”

He grabs the remote and flips through a few movies, getting increasingly more annoyed every time Isagi immediately says no if the movie he picks looks downright terrifying.

How much of a loser is he?

Eventually, he just ignores whatever Isagi says and randomly picks a movie, pretending like he can’t hear his protests or his complaints.

The movie has been playing for a while now.

The lights are off, the only source of illumination coming from the TV screen flickering in front of them, the creepy atmosphere engulfing them.

The eerie background music fills the quiet living room.

It’s your typical horror movie. A group of teenagers manage to find a haunted house and of course are stupid, so they enter the abandoned building despite the warnings everybody gave them, and soon regret their decision.

It isn’t that scary, in his opinion. He’s seen scarier movies, but apparently the boy next to him doesn’t share the same critique, judging by how he’s practically shaking.

The characters are creeping through a dark hallway while whispering to each other when a jump-scare appears out of nowhere, completely predictable, and Isagi screams so loudly at that.

Rin has to suppress the laugh bubbling in his throat.

Isagi flinched at least three times already, but Rin pretends not to notice, he doesn’t say anything about it.

Instead, he keeps his eyes on the screen, trying his best to ignore the way Isagi has been shuffling closer to him with every slight scare.

A loud noise suddenly echoes from the TV.

Isagi jolts slightly, grabbing onto Rin’s arm without thinking. Rin rolls his eyes with pink cheeks, his lips twitching subtly into a small smile at the way Isagi is clearly terrified. It’s kind of cute, in a way.

He wants to throw up at that thought. Isagi? Cute?

“You’re pathetic. Is this seriously what scares you?” he mutters, though there is no real bite behind his words.

Despite his words, he doesn’t make a single move to pull his arm away.

“Shut up, Rin,” Isagi mumbles, tightening his grip on his arm as he moves closer, and Rin can smell him and his stupid vanilla body-wash.

Why did Isagi smell so good all the time?

He swallows, heart racing, not having the energy to bite back at Isagi.

Why is he so close?

A little while later, around 40 minutes in, the scene changes.

The characters on screen move closer to each other, and for some reason, the tension is sky high as they make their way into one of the bedrooms of the haunted house. Their voices drop into murmurs, their faces inches apart. The music shifts too, losing its eerie tone and becomes low and intimate.

Rin immediately stiffens.

Oh.

What the fuck. Why are they planning to fuck inside a creepy house? To make matters worse, their friends are slowly getting killed individually.

This has got to be a sick joke. How do you even find it in you to get horny in a place like that?

Rin mentally reminds himself to give this movie a one-star rating, out of pure pettiness.

Of course, a scene like this happens when he’s alone with Isagi fucking Yoichi out of everyone.

The universe hates him, it seems.

His jaw tightens slightly as he stares at the screen, trying very hard to keep his expression neutral, though it seems to be almost impossible as he feels his eye twitching.

The characters lean in closer, their lips brushing, hands wandering, the atmosphere thick with tension.

Oh my God.

Get him out of this house right now. Matter of fact, the demon in the movie should just grab him through the screen and rip him apart with its ridiculous claws.

Why do things like this only happen to him?

Embarrassment is eating away at him, and beside him, Isagi has gone completely still. Rin doesn’t want to look at his face, but he can feel Isagi practically drilling holes into the side of his face.

He slowly turns his head, and immediately meets half-lidded blue eyes. Isagi isn’t looking at the TV, that’s for sure.

He’s staring directly at him.

“…What?” Rin asks, trying to sound annoyed, but it comes out weaker than he intends.

Fuck. He can feel his cheeks burn at the look in Isagi’s eyes. Why is he looking at him like that? Rin doesn’t like it.

It feels like he was being set on fire, like he’s being burned alive, and Isagi is the one holding the gasoline and flickering the lighter on.

Isagi doesn’t answer. His gaze briefly drops to Rin’s lips before flicking back up to his eyes again. There’s a faint gleam in them, one that he can’t name. Swallowing slightly, Rin’s heart started pounding like crazy.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

The sounds from the TV fade into the background, the room suddenly feeling warmer than before. His hands clench before he relaxes them again, forcing himself to take a deep breath in.

Why is he so nervous?

It’s just Isagi.

Nothing to be nervous about, right? It’s not like anything is going to happen between them. He should just click on a different movie, and end this.

Yet that isn’t what he does at all.

“Stop staring at me,” Rin says, looking away, cheeks a blazing red color.

He really hopes Isagi doesn’t see his clearly flustered state, he’s already embarrassed enough as it is.

Isagi leans in a little closer, tilting his head.

“Why?” he murmurs, his voice a low whisper. It’s completely different than what Rin was used to, and he doesn’t know how to deal with it.

All he knows is that it’s making something boil in his stomach.

The question sends a shiver down Rin’s spine.

He can feel Isagi’s presence now. Close enough to feel the warmth radiating from his body, close enough to hear the steady rhythm of his breathing. The space between them thins, even more so than before.

This is ridiculous.

He’s getting flustered over nothing. It’s not like Isagi is actually bothered by the movie, right?

Sure this scene is a little uncomfortable, but it’s not like it’s anything they didn’t know before. They can easily just skip this part, even if it has some important parts in it or whatever. Rin doesn’t care anymore.

He ignores Isagi’s question with a frown on his lips, focusing his attention on the screen again.

It’s really hard to actually focus though, much less pay attention to it, because Isagi still doesn’t stop staring at him. He can feel his piercing gaze on his face, and he pokes the inside of his cheek at that.

Why the hell is he still staring at him? Does he have something on his face or what?

Feeling fed up, he grabs the remote and pauses the movie, tossing it back onto the coffee table in front of them. He then turns his head towards Isagi, mouth opening to snap at him, but his voice dies in his throat.

Rin’s lips part in surprise at the way Isagi is looking at him. His blue irises seem dark, laced with something he can’t name.

What the hell?

“Rin,” Isagi calls out, voice a low murmur, gazing at Rin with so many emotions in his eyes.

One of them particularly stands out, because Rin recognises it. It’s the same look he has whenever he sees Isagi.

Love.

His throat goes dry, blinking rapidly as he tries to wrap his head around what was happening.

Is this a dream?

“What?” he says, voice involuntarily quiet, hushed.

He didn’t mean for it to sound like that, he wanted it to sound more agitated and firm, but it seems like his throat did the opposite of what he wanted.

Isagi leans in closer, closer to the point Rin feels his breath on his lips. His heart squeezes at that, his mind going blank for a second.

His vision turns hazy as he tries to focus on Isagi, fingers curling in on themselves.

“You’re really pretty.”
