FIVE YEARS AGO

Days passed by slowly,
His insomnia didn't,
crack
pressing down on the cap of the chilled caffeine
he brought it to his lips
sigh
the first sip flowed into the last
one drink, into the next
clutching onto the can
he drank up the last of it.
(1:52am)
He sat at his computer, in the dim lit office,
It was in these hours,
that he would ponder on the days of his youth,
wondering where were his dearest friends now?
were they rich and happy?
or were they working long hours and feeling lonely all the time
he wondered if any of them were still in contact with eachother
he promised himself he wouldnt
but he did every time
he opened instagram
"Koga Yudai" he typed into the blue light screen

He sat in a plastic chair outside the convinience stoor below his unit
scrolling through the pictures
his high school best friend
who he might've kissed... twice...
no maybe about a hundred times
he would change nothing about those years
except for that day in Yokohama bay.
