The man who cries

Summary:

I saw Cinema Therapy's youtube video about toxic or limiting masculinity, and about how Aragorn is a great example of healthy masculinity, and this popped into my head.

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

The man who cries

I'm in love with the man that cries,

the man that says “I'm hurt”.

I’m in love with the man that comforts,

the man that swallows his pride knowing sometimes he is not right.

I have love for the man that feels,

freely without shame.

I’m in love with the man that tries, knowing he might fail.

I'm in love with an imperfect man,

I have love for a man who fails.

I deeply love the man who has the courage to try,

to live, to laugh, to love,

to feel, to hurt,

to cry.

Notes:

I have been feeling really inspired to write small poems this year, and I thought I might as well share them with the world and see what comes of it.

I would love to hear if anyone has any thoughts or opinions, and kudos and comments are greatly appreciated!!!

(i just noticed i ended the poem in the exact way i did last, but what is the saying, "if its not broken then don't fix it"??)
