Work Text:
Kota likes Midoriya as his teacher. When he thinks of 'brave' or 'hero', Midoriya is the one his brain picks. He's admired the man since they first met (Okay, that's not true, but it's close enough). But when he's around Dynamight, it's... pathetic.
Before Midoriya gets his pro-hero suit from his old class (though even he knows who front loads the bill), he tries to pretend like he's not head over heels for his childhood friend. Which Kota thinks is stupid. People need to watch him and Dynamight one time to see the truth. Each time Dynamight appears in the classroom, the class knows they're not getting anything done for at least twenty minutes. Midoriya tries, but he's such a simp for Dynamight, it's a lost cause.
One stupid nickname or a brush of Dynamight's hand on his waist, and he's gone.
Some of his classmates have crushes on the explosive hero. They get all giggly when he appears, their cheeks bright and eyes all glossy. But they seriously need to get their heads checked if they think any of them have a chance. Because Dynamight only has eyes for Midoriya. And that's why the man pours so much of his money into the super suit that gives Midoriya the chance to be a hero again. Which, despite thinking Dynamight is a hot-headed prick, Kota admits he's happy the hero did it. Because he knows part of Midoriya misses being a hero.
Except then, something... weird happens. A month after the suit comes around, Dynamight doesn't show up to the class. Kota sees the excitement in Midoriya's eyes when he talks about the suit, proving what everyone already knew. But then there's a flicker of longing after. Kota catches him glancing at the window every now and then, as if waiting for the cocky man to burst through.
Like he wants Dynamight to pop in and annoy their class again.
Midoriya... obviously misses him. And yet he keeps smiling, keeps brushing off questions about Dynamight. It doesn't make sense, because Kota does see them hanging out outside of school. One time, Kota stumbles on his teacher and the hero getting dinner. Another time, a classmate sends a picture of them running in the morning together, the girls squealing at how 'cute' they are. But another month goes by, and there's no trace of Dynamight. The window is left open at times, the warmer air coming in. The only thing that's strange is sometimes, when the class comes back from lunch, Midoriya looks... happier. Like he used to be when Dynamight visited.
So Kota takes it into his own hands. When all of his classmates are heading to lunch, Kota lingers by the lockers. He's going to wait until the teacher is alone, and then ask what's the deal with Dynamight no longer coming to their class. So after everyone's gone, he acts. The hallway is quiet as he heads back to the class, knowing Midoriya stays there to catch up on work he misses due to his hero shift. But as Kota gets closer to the room, he hears... something he doesn't expect.
It's the hero he was about to ask about.
"Come on, Freckles."
"Absolutely not." Midoriya's voice holds the same tone he uses when one of his classmates asks to skip Aizawa's non-quirk training. It's a bit lower, and reminds Kota of how crazy Midoriya looks when holding Muscular back.
Dynamight doesn't seem bothered. "We can be quick."
"You said that last time, which is what got us in this situation to begin with."
There's a small grunt, and Kota hears a weird noise. He can't place it, but before he can try to figure it out, Dynamight speaks again.
It's muffled, and... coy? "You don't miss me, Deku-sensei?"
Kota's nose scrunches at the weird question. First of all, why would Dynamight call Midoriya by his hero name if he's going to add an honorific?
And why does Midoriya stutter after? "K-Kacchan?! This... this is a classroom-"
Dynamight huffs."Yeah, that's the point."
When the sound of furniture moving takes over the space, Kota finally peeks through the slightly parted door. Midoriya is leaning on his desk, but Dynamight is using his tie like a leash. From the flush under Midoriya's reading glasses, he doesn't seem to mind their proximity. Kota wants to gag at the lovestruck look on his teacher's face, looking up at the man moving to almost brush their noses.
"Maybe I like both uniforms you wear," Dynamight says, gloved hand slowly sliding up and down Midoriya's tie.
The one that's been a lot tidier recently.
"Thought you wanted me to give this up and come work at your agency?" Midoriya asks, his eyes slowly moving down Dynamight's uniform.
He seems to catch himself, snapping his head up hard enough to jar his glasses.
Smirking, Dynamight slides closer, reaching his free hand up.
"Don't knock em off," Dynamight says, eyes locked on Midoriya's wider ones as he adjusts the frames. With one hand on the glasses, the other still holding the tie, the hero chuckles. "Yeah, you're keeping that on later."
Kota's cheeks grow warm in realization. Oh. They're...
"Huh?" Unaware of Kota watching their weird flirting, Midoriya sneaks another glance at Dynamight before he squeezes his eyes shut, his ears matching his flushed face. "Um... do you mean the tie or the glasses?"
The question makes Dynamight's brow furrow. "Both, Nerd."
Like the words quirk Midoriya's body, the scarred hands snap up, grabbing Dynamight's hips and yanking him forward. Then, after a whispered 'Kacchan', Midoriya kisses Dynamight. And the smug hero, who looks tickled pink at the teacher snapping, happily returns the affection. Kota wants to gag. Not cause they're men or anything, because he thinks people should love who they love. But it's like watching his older brother make out with his boyfriend.
(He's pretty sure, from how Midoriya is trying to claim Dynamight's mouth, they're dating now).
The thing is, he's kinda stuck. If he tries to leave, he's worried he'll make a noise and they'll catch him. But what can he do? At this point, Midoriya's almost sitting on his desk, Dynamight boldly putting his knee on the wood as if trying to climb into his teacher's lap. Before Kota sees something that'll make him need to bleach his brain, a throat clearing from behind him makes Kota spin around. There, looking like he's ready to sleep for a year, is Aizawa.
But the man's annoyed gaze isn't on Kota. His full focus is on-
"Problem Children."
Instantly, Midoriya breaks the deep kiss, ignoring Dynamight's frown to look at Aizawa. "A-Aizawa-sensei, Kacchan was-"
"I don't want to know." Out of every teacher in UA, Aizawa is the least interested in drama. "We said no more visits at work after-"
"H-He was just leaving!"
"Since when?" But Dynamight's protest dies when Midoriya sends him a pointed look over his glasses.
In the silence, Kota sees the strong hero's shoulders twitch before he glances away grumbling as he hops off the desk.
"Whatever. My lunch break's almost over, anyway."
When Dynamight hops onto the open windowsill, Midoriya pushes from his desk and calls out. "Kacchan?"
"What?" Kota can't believe a grown man is actually pouting as he glares at Midoriya.
But then the teacher pushes his glasses up, other hand smoothing out his rumpled tie.
"If you pick me up after work, we could... make dinner at your place?"
Dynamight barely makes it two seconds before he nods. "It's a date, Freckles."
And then Dynamight is gone, blasting through the sky like a phoenix.
Aizawa sighs next to Kota. "Still my problem children..."
Kota looks at Midoriya, seeing a smile covering his teacher's face as he fixes his tie. And even if he doesn't get it, Kota... gets it. Love doesn't have to make sense to anyone but the two sharing the emotion.
The sappy thought makes Kota blurt out "You two kiss like frogs."
Midoriya almost falls over when he spins around, face going apple red. "Kota!"
"Told you not to bring Katsuki around." Then Aizawa grabs Kota's shoulder, turning him. "Let's get you some lunch."
"Wait, what-frogs?!"
Kota smiles cause he's right; his hero is still pathetic.
