Summary:
“W…well!” Katara rushed to add, “I mean, they’re not married yet!” She chuckled nervously, fidgeting in her chains. “It was…uhm…spur of the moment!”
“Exactly!” Aang cut in, “You know how lovebirds are! One minute it’s all ‘raa, let me kill you!’ Then it’s—‘no, my love, marry me!’”
The king was not impressed.
“Avatar,” his voice was a rumble, “are you telling me my bride, whom I was promised over ten years ago, has decided to become wed to this—” his eyes cut to the left, “—thing?”
Aang looked over at Sokka, who was sweating profusely in the corner of their small cell, and turned back to the king. “…How mad will you be if I say yes?”

Or: When the Gaang is kidnapped by a very wealthy Earth Kingdom city, Sokka and Zuko must pretend to be a couple to keep the King from claiming Zuko as his bride.
What the Gaang doesn’t realize, however, is that this King staked his claim on Zuko a long, long time ago.And he will not stop until he gets what he rightfully deserves.

HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY FIRST EVER ATLA FIC!!! I’ve had this idea for a while, and I’m very happy to be able to finally get it written!
As a preface, it has been a very long time since I finished ATLA, and I recently rewatched book three to refresh my memory on Zuko joining the Gaang, so I apologize if there’s any OOCness or misinformation!This will be quite a bit of a slow burn, so please stay with me, haha!!
