Work Text:
Linda Lung and Hung Sheung Sin were welcomed by an aroma of pinewood and juniper as they stepped into the room. At first glance, the Tai Lei Mm Dou hotel seemed like any other 5-star hotel suite, with two neatly made King beds, a velvet chaise lounge with a marble-top minibar, and a floor-length window overlooking the peninsula.
At least there are two beds, Sheung Sin thought. She had been in a cold war with Linda ever since she threw her under the bus at a meeting two weeks ago, and was not in the mood to share a bed with her girlfriend. The client had a few nasty words to say about Sheung Sin’s proposal, and Linda complied with all his outlandish requests, while Sheung Sin wordlessly watched her dignity and reputation get dismantled in real time. Despite Linda’s desperate attempts at begging for forgiveness, she vowed to return the favour at a future meeting; she was simply waiting for the right time to strike.
Finally, her eyes swept to the glass wall, which had a full transparent display of the ensuite bathroom. The beds had a front-row VIP seat to the cylindrical shower stall and accompanying ivory bathtub.
“Are you serious?” Hung Sheung Sin frowned. “What kind of room has glass windows for the bathroom? What happened to privacy?”
“The frosted glass has custom settings that can be controlled from the inside, and special technology to keep the glass from fogging up even while showering,” Linda answered, as if she was reciting an instruction manual.
Sheung Sin rolled her eyes, “Let me guess… you specifically requested this room so you could seduce me into forgiving you. You’re so mo liu, it’s not going to happen.”
Though Linda did not admit that she was right, her slightly taken aback look said it all. Somehow, Sheung Sin always knew what she was thinking. “So what if I did? I’m going to take a shower,” she huffed. Two weeks without Sheung Sin’s touch was torture, so she turned to extreme measures.
The CEO shook her head and pulled out her laptop to review the files sent to her today. If it weren’t for the island’s strictly enforced 11pm curfew, she would have gone elsewhere to work. Although the room was spacious, it seemed that no matter where she turned, there were mirrors and glass surfaces that reflected the bathroom’s view. There was no escaping Linda’s free peepshow. She decided to sit in the bed furthest away from the shower, and opened up a spreadsheet.
Linda began with a sensual striptease, like an appetizer for a 5-course meal prepared just for Sheung Sin. With her back facing the translucent glass, she slowly slid the zipper on her dress, carefully pulling down the emerald satin fabric down from her shoulders. There was only the smooth of her back, and side of her breast peeking through. No, she wouldn’t give Hung Sheung Sin the full view quite just yet. She shimmied out of her gown, setting the glass to a frosted glass, right as she let it drop to her feet.
Outside the bathroom, Sheung Sin’s eyes were still intently focused on her laptop screen, eyebrows furrowed with concentration. Despite her best efforts, the numbers and pie charts blurred from her vision, and she couldn’t help but notice the wriggling movement in her periphery. Out of the corner of her eye, she traced the outline of Linda’s silhouette, taking in each familiar bend and curve of her body. She was aching to steal a quick glance, just for a quick second. No, don’t you dare, she chided herself. She couldn’t fall prey to Linda’s games so easily. After all, she had managed to write some of her best scripts in the midst of worse distractions.
Meanwhile, Linda took her time slathering soap into her palms, slowly massaging it over her body as the bubbles built up. She began humming, much to Hung Sheung Sin’s annoyance, gradually turning down the opacity again. Linda knew that she was watching, even if her eyes wouldn’t move away from the laptop. She let the warm stream of water drum down her back in a rhythmic massage, and moved her hand south. Tossing her head back, Linda sighed loudly, ensuring that Sheung Sin could hear her through the glass. Bet you can’t resist this, she thought smugly.
Hung Sheung Sin felt her back prickling with sweat as her cheeks began to grow warm too. Is the damn AC in this hotel room broken? she thought. She had been staring at the same spreadsheet for the duration of Linda’s shower, unable to absorb a single word into her brain. Instead, she thought about how long it had been since she had felt Linda’s skin on hers. Her mind may have been unforgiving, her heart unyielding, but her body was uncooperative. She shifted in her bed restlessly, crossing and uncrossing her legs to ignore the throbbing sensation.
Linda was too preoccupied with studying Sheung Sin’s every minor reaction, and accidentally knocked over the bottles of shampoo on the rack, causing quite the ruckus as they tumbled onto the tiled floors. “Aiyah!” she yelped, as an expensive gold bottle landed on her toes.
Forgetting her nonchalant ruse, Hung Sheung Sin whirled her head around with concern and hurried over to the glass. “Are you okay?” she asked, alarmed.
Shit.
“Ha, made you look,” Linda smirked. “I knew you couldn’t resist.”
She must have been fine if she still had the energy for banter. “Shut up, I was working the entire time. I just heard a noise and came to see if you injured yourself, idiot,” Sheung Sin retorted.
“Sure, ‘working’. You were on the same page for half an hour,” she pointed out.
“That’s called being thorough. And what kind of person takes a shower for half an hour? What a waste of water. Your skin is probably all wrinkly and pruney by now,” she stammered.
Linda was still standing stark naked with only a sheet of frosted glass between them. “Come and see for yourself then,” she teased.
Pruney or not, Hung Sheung Sin didn’t care. She lost the game anyway, maybe it was time to wave the white flag. Perhaps some things were worth setting aside her ego and obstinance for.
She pushed open the bathroom door. “Fine, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
