The evening star it shines so bright~
So make a wish and hold it tight~
There's magic in the air tonight~
And anything could happen~
We pan over from the beautiful starry nights sky to a magnificent mansion. As we look through the mansion, we see a woman reading a book to two young children. The room they are in is huge and very pink with a lot of apple decor.
"Please Princess! Only a kiss can break this curse that was bestowed upon me by a wicked witch!" The woman read in the most dramatic voice she could must for the cursed frog to keep the children entertained.
"Here comes my favorite part!" The little blonde girl whispered to the dark haired boy excitedly as the woman continued to read the story further. "So the princess picked up the slimy creature, raised him to her lips...!"
As the woman read on the little girl nodded her head eagerly to hear the next part of the story while the little boy shook his head in fear at what could possibly happen next. Though he already had a pretty good idea about what was going to happen next, he deeply hoped it wasn't.
"And kissed that little frog!"
The little girl aww'd at the sentence that was just read. The little boy however gagged at the idea of anyone kissing a frog of all things. Once they were done with their reactions and ready to hear the next part of the story, the woman turned to the next page of the story book.
"The frog then turned into a handsome prince! They were married and lived happily ever after." Right before the woman could finished the story, she cut part of a ribbon off of a mannequin she was using. "The end."
"Yay!" The little girl toppled over backwards making her friend chuckle. "Read it again! Read it again!" The little girl urged. The woman gently lifted the girl up on her feet and gently tied the ribbon around her waist completing the princess themed dress she already had on.
"Sorry Charlie, but Husk and I best be on our way. Say goodnight Husk." The woman asked her son. Husk, however felt as if though he needed to get something off his chest before his departure. " There is no way in this whole wide world I would ever, ever, ever, I mean NEVER kiss a frog." He wagged his finger before crossing his arms "Yuck!"
"Is that so~?" Charlie asked with mischievous stare at her friend. Suddenly she pulled out a frog hat and put it right on her ducks head. As she grabbed onto the duck, she playfully urged her friend to kiss him. "Go on, kiss him! Kiss him, kiss him, kiss him!"
"No! I won't, I won't, I won't!" Husk playfully shoved his friend away as she held the duck even tighter. "I would do it! I would kiss a frog! I would kiss a hundred frogs if I could marry a prince and be a princess." Charlie said dreamily before giving the duck a huge kiss. The duck then flew to the ceiling making the two children topple over in laughter.
"You kids! Stop tormenting that poor duckling!" The woman climbed on top of a chair holding her hands out so the dick could gently fall into her palms. Once she climbed back down, she gently kneeled down so the duck could climb out of her hands "Poor little thing." The woman said with so much empathy as she watched the duckling swiftly waddle away from the children.
The closed door to the room opened up revealing a fairly shorter man with blonde hair and a kind smile. "Evening, Jane!" Charlie rushed over to the man excitedly. "Daddy! Daddy! Look at my new dress! Isn't it pretty?" As Charlie spun around to fully show off her dress to her father, Lucifer leaned down to pick her up.
"Haha look at you!" Lucifer walked over to Jane to give her praise. "Why, I expect nothing less from the finest seamstress in New Orleans." As Lucifer was complementing the woman, Charlie took a good long look at the princesses dress in her story book. "Ohh! I want that dress!" Charlie pointed at the lovely princess in the book.
"Now sweetie-!" Lucifer was just about to try and talk Charlie out of it, but it was too late. Charlie had already made up her mind. "I want that dress! Please, please, please, please, please!" Charlie begged her father while tugging on a few strands of his hair. He relented.
"Jane! You suppose you could whip something up like that?" Lucifer said with and apologetic smile, while Jane smiled back with an understanding one. "Anything for my number one customer." She said as she showed off all the other princess themed dresses she had already made for Charlie.
"Yay!" As Charlie celebrated, Jane gently took her son's hand "Come along now Husk, your daddy should be back from work by now." That made Husk light up. His father worked a lot which ment he got home really late, but every moment he spent time with him was always a moment to remember.
"Alright princess, you're getting that dress but that's it!" Lucifer told Charlie as he tried to stand his ground. "No more Mr. Pushover! Now who wants a kitty?" Lucifer then grabbed a kitten from behind his back and gently gave her to Charlie. "I do! I do! She's so cute" As Charlie gently cradled the kitten, Husk and his mother were out the door and on a bus back home.

Once Husk got back home and said hi to his father, they started prepping dinner together. "Gumbo smells good, Husker." Leonard watched Husk carefully as Husk stirred the gumbo. " I think it's done daddy." Husk proudly told his father "You sure?" Leonard asked. "Mhmm" Husk replied. "Absolutely positive?" Leonard leaned his head closer to his son to check to see how sure he really was. "Yes!" Husk replied once again with even more confidence.
"Alright." Leonard grabbed the spoon and put it near his mouth. "I'm about to put this spoon in my~!" Husk than quickly grabbed the spoon from him, realizing he forgot one of the most important ingredients. "Wait!" Leonard chuckled at his son, and watched his son put three drops of tobacco in the gumbo before Husk gave it one last taste test "Done."
Husk then offered the spoon to his father. Once Leonard got a taste of the gumbo he made and unsure expression. "What?" Husk asked his father wondering if he made some type of mistake. "Well Husk this is the..." Right as Husk is about to expect the worst his dad swiftly grabs him making his son laugh. "Best gumbo I've ever tasted! Come here!" Leonard held his son close. "Jane, our little guy has a gift!" Jane than got up from sewing machine to get closer to her family "Mhmm! I could've told you that!" Jane let her husband wrap one of his arms around her as she embarrassed her son. "A gift this special just gotta be shared!"
Husk than ran over to open his front door. "Hey everybody! I made gumbo!" Once Husk told his neighbors they all started coming over to try his Gumbo "Ohh that smells good!" One neighbor said. "I got some hush puppies Husk! Here I come!" Said another. It didn't take long for their small community to come over and share their dinner.
After they all left Husk's parents helped him get ready for bed. "That's the thing about good food." Leonard wrapped his arm around his son. "It brings people together and puts smiles on their faces. And when I open up my own restaurant..." Leonard proceeded to pull out a small poster of the inside of a restaurant. "I tell ya, people are gonna come from miles all over just to get a taste of my food!"
"Our food!" Husk mentioned as his dad chuckled. "That's right buddy." Leonard grabbed a blue crayon and wrote "Husk's place" on the front and handed it to husk. "Our food." Husk embraced the poster, than noticed something outside his window. "Daddy look!" Husk crawled over to his window in excitement "Whatchu lookin at bud?"
"Charlie's book says if you make a wish upon the evening star, it is sure to come true." Jane gave her son a gentle pat on the head. "Well you wish on that star baby." Then Leonard held onto his son's shoulder. "Yes, you wish and you wish hard with all your little heart. But remember, that old star can only take you part of the way." Leonard motioned to the star with his hand for his son to see.
"You gotta help it along with some hard work of your own and then..." Leonard gently cradled Husk's face in his hand. "Yeah you can do anything you set your mind to." He than gave Husk a very important look. "Just promise your daddy one thing." Husk paid close attention at the sound of how serious his father's voice had gotten.
"That you'll never ever ever lose sight of what's really important, okay?" Leonard gently grabbed his wives hand. Husk didn't really understand what his father ment, but he was sure he would find out eventually so he nodded. After his parents told him goodnight and closed his door he got up to quickly make a wish while holding his father's poster in his hands.
"Please, please, please, please, please!" Once he opened his eyes he saw a spider on his window seal. They both started at each other silently.
Then the spider crawled closer to him.
Husk screamed at the top of his lungs. He quickly ran over to his parents room and slammed the door shut.
