Raph suddenly bolted awake in a state of sheer panic, sweat pouring off him incessantly. He sat up, rubbing his head, when a sudden memory jolted him. He frantically checked his body; seeing he was uninjured after that fall, Raph let out a heavy sigh of relief. Was it because of these yellow flowers? Whatever—Raph didn't know what kind of flowers they were, but they were the only reason he had survived that lethal drop. He scanned his surroundings before looking up at the single beam of light shining down on his position. Under normal circumstances, Raph could have climbed out and escaped easily, but there was one problem… he hadn't brought a single damn thing that could help him in this situation, save for a pair of Sai tucked away for self-defense.
The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became. Raph threw himself back onto the bed of beautiful yellow petals and screamed into his hands to vent his rage. He never expected that a simple stroll through the woods to kill some boredom would end with him trapped in a strange place like this. Furthermore, Leo was still in a coma. Wouldn't his sudden disappearance just pile more weight onto the shoulders of Mikey, Donnie, Casey, and April…?
...Raph quickly brushed aside the messy thoughts. He sat up, grabbed his weapons, tucked them back into his belt, took a deep breath, and stood up. No, he didn't have time to sit around brooding over his bad luck. He had to find a way out of here and get back to his family.
His footsteps were a bit shaky—which made sense, considering he’d just fallen from a massive height—and even if that flower bed had cushioned him, it couldn't take away all the shock. He was lucky to be alive. But it was bizarre… why were there flowers down here? And this path… had Raph actually died?! No, this wasn't a dream.
His attention was drawn to a gateway. Judging by the intricate patterns and the vines winding around it, this place must have existed for a very, very long time. If Donnie were here, he’d probably be jumping for joy over this stuff. Raph cautiously peered past the gate… A flower? Alright, time to move, no danger. But as Raph approached, the flower suddenly moved and spoke:
"A new… Human?”
The flower’s face displayed a mix of surprise and utter confusion.
Raph immediately recoiled in shock. Who would have expected a flower to talk? Unless it had been exposed to Mutagen, Raph wouldn't have believed it—but what the hell was going on here? Was this flower some kind of mutant? No, that didn't feel right at all.
Raph and the flower simply stared at each other.
Silence. Neither said a word.
Shock, disbelief, and confusion were written clearly across both of their faces.
