Iruazz 2.0 🤤
The hallway buzzed with idle chatter, some boys laughing as they badmouthed others.
Asmodeus was never one to care about lowly things such as gossiping, but accidentally hearing Iruma’s name, made his attention snap towards the voices.
“Dude its crazy how much people like that blue headed crybaby, if it weren’t for Asmodeus he would’ve never made it this far.” A boy snickered.
“I know right?! I don’t know how he even has the patience to babysit Iruma” another demon agreed.
Just hearing them talk and laugh about Iruma that way, made his blood go cold.
The voices echoed down the hallway, ridiculing the blue haired boy.
Asmodeus could no longer stand still as his patience was at its limit.
“What are you worthless pathetic demons rambling about” Asmodeus snarled, his eyes filled with anger.
“Huh? Well it’s true. He wouldn’t be here without you” one of the boys scoffed and the other nodded along.
“What do you know about Iruma-sama” he snapped, his brows furrowed as he glared at them.
Those lowly imbeciles badmouthing his master was something unforgivable. Flames flickered to life in his hands, burning brighter with each passing moment.
“Hey A-Asmodeus calm down!” The demon said anxiously. Everyone in the demon school knows how strong Asmodeus is, that is why everyone perpetually tries to get on his good side.
“Should’ve made sure to think twice before mocking my master.” He retorted, the fire sparking in between his fingers.
His movements so fast, the two boys didn’t even notice him blasting them with his scorching flame.
The two young demons were lucky, as Kalego stopped him from harming them.
“What is the meaning of this Asmodeus.” He questioned, his eyes glaring at the youth in front of him who lowered his head, biting his lip to stop himself from saying anything he would regret.
Asmodeus walked away ignoring his teachers screams as he ordered him to come back.
It’s true that he had taken it too far, attacking those two demons, his own kin, but how could he ever allow anyone to speak that way about his master whom he loved dearly?
Asmodeus thoughts were quickly interjected by Irumas voice resonating in the schoolyard.
The blue haired boy was loudly talking and laughing with their friend Clara, his smile so warm and gentle, the pink haired boy could only stare in awe, his heart rapidly beating.
“Azz-Kun!!!” The boy yelled, waving at Asmodeus. The boy dispelled the thoughts that were clouding over his head and ran over to his master.
Iruma is the person he has devoted himself to entirely, Iruma’s selfless compassion for others is something he will never be able to fully comprehend. His unwavering loyalty towards his master, turns him into a pathetic fool whose only purpose is safety and happiness. The way Iruma tries to protect others so carelessly, confuses him, since demons aren’t meant to protect but destroy, so how come Iruma is so different? How can he be so sensitive to others needs.
“Iruma-Sama!!!” The rosy haired boy said excitedly, the negative remarks that were made about Iruma were so inaccurate that he wondered, how could anyone ever hate him?
“Azz, come play with me and Clara, she brought this new game!!”
Seeing his master smile made the boy immediately agree and sit down to spend time with them.
The three of them played for the entire break, until the bell rang and they had to go to their next class. While walking down the hallway, still wrapped up in their conversation, their steps came to a screeching halt when Kalego stepped directly into their path.
“Asmodeus, where did you think you were going when I ordered you to come back” Kalego hissed at the boy before him, annoyed and angry.
“Well there wasn’t anything to explain” Asmodeus snapped back.
“Yes there is. You do not just attack random students because you feel like it.”
“Azz what is Mr Kalego talking about? Who did you attack?” Irumas concern grew more with Asmodeus silence, not uttering a single word.
“Azz….”
“I will see you later at the principals office” Kalego announced as he walked away, leaving the three students together in tranquil silence.
“I think you have some explaining to do” Iruma said, waiting for the boy in front of him to reply, “It has nothing to do with you..”
“Azz… please can’t you just tell me? Why did you attack those students?” The boys concern grew more intense.
“Its just.. They were talking badly about.. you..” Asmodeus confessed, his eyes unable to meet Irumas. He felt ashamed for attacking those students carelessly but he also could not turn a blind eye to what was happening, especially if it concerned Iruma.
“So you attacked them because they talked badly about me?? Azz… I don’t need your protection. Let them talk it doesn’t matter to me as long as you don’t think of me the way others do.” Iruma confessed, a wave of guilt washed over him. The whole situation made him restless and make him feel at fault, perhaps if he was better and more likeable maybe then Asmodeus wouldn’t get in trouble because of him.
“No it matters.” Asmodeus retorted curtly, of course it matters, because his master matters and it angers him how much Iruma degrades himself.
“Azz I hate how you got into trouble because of me so please don’t ever do this again.”
“I really can’t promise you that. Next time they will actually get blown even if a teacher stops me.”
Asmodeus said, Irumas expression changed from guiltiness to anger.
“Well as I said before I don’t need your protection can’t you just respect that?” Iruma snapped, he disliked the fact that he was bothering Asmodeus with stuff that should not involve him.
As a child, he always had to carry the burden of his parents, that’s how he grew up, he learnt to be strong. He never wanted to be an obligation to his friends, and the fact that Asmodeus refused to acknowledge his feelings regarding this situation, it angered him.
“Can’t you just give me permission to shield you..?” Asmodeus left out a sigh, his eyes meeting Irumas. “Please, let me.”
“Azz I understand where you’re coming from but please I said no!” The blue haired boy shot back. Unable to control his emotions, he abruptly left, leaving Asmodeus stand there, unable to do anything.
———————————
A few days had passed since their argument and Asmodeus had yet to see Iruma, he hadn’t shown himself at school or when he would go to see him in the morning, Opera would always tell him the same thing
“Iruma-kun will not join you today at school, he asks for your understanding.”
Therefore the youth could not meet his master, leaving him in complete agony.
Meanwhile, Iruma was locked in his room, the event from a few days ago hurted him deeply.
«I just didn’t want to be a burden to someone.. why can’t he just get that» Iruma thought to himself, he might as well be overreacting but the way his parents treated him, how else could he think? In hindsight of yesterday’s fight, he felt guilty of how he talked to Asmodeus. All he wanted was to explain that he disliked others taking care for him. He tried shaking off the thoughts that loomed over his head and tried falling asleep.
Iruma changed as many sleeping positions as he could but he was far from falling asleep and for once the night was long. The moon shone from the horizon, the sight that once bewildered him whenever he stared at, no longer calmed him from his worries. He sighed as he got up from his bed, thinking that perhaps the reason he’s still awake is because he hadn’t eaten anything.
He abruptly got up and walked towards the kitchen door, the boy opened it and started searching for food to eat.
Although he wasn’t really hungry he still wanted to try it, maybe he would be able to sleep afterwards. It was worth the shot.
“Iruma-kun what are you doing awake at this hour” a voice came from the exit, Iruma flinched a bit but then the voice became familiar and he turned to see Opera standing there.
“Oh uh I was hungry! I was just looking for food to eat” Iruma exclaimed, a bit embarrassed having been caught at night as if he had been starved.
“It’s fine it’s your home.”
The silence grew heavier and he became even more anxious by the awkwardness of the moment.
“Lately-“ Opera said, quickly stopping himself. It wasn’t his place to say anything.
“Just say it!” With that reassurance the boy continued.
“Lately, you look quite down. It has been days and your grandfather is worried about your health.”
Iruma knew how worried his grandpa has been, continuously asking him if he’s okay or if he needs anything. But he felt powerless and he didn’t want to burden him with his problems.
He was terrified.
What if his only remaining family, his grandfather or even his friends left him after he started depending on them?
Iruma always believed that if he had been a better child, more resourceful and responsible then his parents wouldn’t have abandoned him.
He had just got back in his feet and he finally got the feeling he had been longing for, he wanted anything but to ruin it.
“You should be more open to people. They can’t always know what you’re thinking you know!” Opera said, leaving the boy behind to continue his search for food.
Those words lingered in his mind. All the what ifs corrupted his mind but at the end of the day, Opera was right. He should talk to Asmodeus and explain why he doesn’t want him to do that for him.
Okay maybe not tell him everything, considering how no one knows he’s human but still at least tell him some of it?
————————————
It was finally Monday. Iruma got ready for school, putting on his uniform and tidying it neatly. He combed his blue short hair as always before finally heading to school.
While walking, Iruma kept on staring at friends together laughing and conversing with each other. He missed Asmodeus, he was his friend, his soulmate. He yearned for his smile and voice. The days they had been hard felt like years and Iruma had to do something about it.
Soon enough he reached his destination. He tensely walked around the schoolyard and his eyes searched persistently for the boy.
And there he was. The face he longed for was in front of him, without a second thought Iruma stormed over
“Iruma-sama!” Asmodeus said dumbfounded. His astonished gaze lingered on Iruma but deep down he was happy. He didn’t expect this. He had been waiting for his master to come and talk to him and he was at last here!
“We need to talk” Iruma stated. He didn’t wait for his answer he only grabbed his hand and dragged him away.
“Iruma-sama what’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry” Asmodeus didn’t expect it, it’s not like he did anything wrong.
“Wait, you shouldn’t be the one to apologise-“
Iruma interrupted him.
“Azz kun please. Let me talk.” The boy nodded and didn’t utter a word.
“I’m sorry for speaking to you harshly but I’m not used to people defending me and all that. It’s too overwhelming and makes me guilty. I know you had only the best thoughts that’s why you did it but, what matters to me isn’t what others say but whether you think the same as them.”
“I don’t. And never will.” Asmodeus stated,
Iruma smiled at him and simply said “I know”
“Iruma-sama. I think, you should be more used to others sticking up for you. Maybe there was never someone who did but while I’m alive no one shall dare to speak ill of you.” Asmodeus said his face still and serious. Iruma couldn’t change his mind no matter what, that much was obvious.
“I’ll never be able to win against will I..?”
“Yeah I’ll make sure you feel all the love you deserve” he exclaimed his expression soft and affectionate.
“I missed you Azz..” the boy pulled the other close and embraced him with all his heart.
