Work Text:
She can't help the tears that escape her eyes. She will never be able to explain the feeling of seeing him grinning down at her. The feeling was larger than life itself. It was as if someone had encompassed all the luck in the world and presented it to her on a silver plater. She couldn't tear her eyes away from his face even if she wanted to.
"Baby," the love of her life whispered reverently, "Please don't cry." He reached across her face to gently brush the tears away from her face, "I can't stand to see you cry."
She sobbed harder at that. He engulfed her into his arms. One arm drawn across her waist while the other gently pushed her head onto his shoulder as his fingers combed through her hair.
She stayed there clinging to his shoulder as his gentle ministrations calmed her down. She didn't notice when Alya slipped out but when she finally withdrew her face from his shoulder, she knew that she couldn't wait to live the rest of her life.
