WARNING FOR SUICIDE ATTEMPT AND NON SUPPORTIVE FAMILY MEMBERS!!
Jason was so tired, he thought things were going well for the past few months, his family even invited him to dinner for the last two weeks. He and Rose were doing great, keeping their relationship a secret for now, he really thought things were doing okay.
Then Tim had to meddle where he wasn’t wanted, apparently Jason was acting weird, which he knew that asshole was talking about how he has been calmer lately. So the little shit hacked his phone and read the messages between Jason and Rose.
He asked about it when Jason had just arrived at the Manor for dinner, and everyone turned to Jason as if he had betrayed them.
Too many voices talked at the same time.
“Her? Really? The daughter of the guy who made my life a living hell?”
“She is kinda nasty…”
“She can compromise you and us–”
“I thought you were getting better, getting closer to people who were not like her”
“Of course Todd is with her, only a failure to stay with another like him”
“Why didn’t you tell us!? I thought you trusted us!”
“You told her about you cutting and not us, why didn’t you trust us with that information?" Tim’s voice came into the end to make matters worse.
“You cut yourself? Oh that's rich!” Dick says with a bitter laugh. “What do you get depressed about? A family who forgives you for the things you have done and keeps loving you?”
“Tt. it would have been better if Todd hadn't come back at all since he claims to back to the afterlife so much”
“Guys that’s a little—” Duke starts.
Steph looks disgusted. “You’re just being assholes at this point”
Cass looked torn, she wanted to like Jason, but he has done so much harm to her family, and he keeps going back to killing every once in a while, she doesn’t know how to like him when he goes against everything she believes in. She also would never wish death upon him, she understands the words coming from her big brother’s mouth are out of desperation and fear, and the younger from lack of understanding and anger, but this is too much, yet she can’t bring herself to say anything, stuck looking back and forward.
“He is the one being an asshole! I’m tired playing his game, pushing us away then playing victim and waiting for us to crawl back asking for him to come back to the family when it seems all he wants is to leave and not come back at all” Grayson exclaims with such exasperation. “Now this!? Cutting, really? Are you that desperate for attention?”
Tim looked at Jason with slight pity, okay so he didn’t mean to everyone get this upset, he was just curious to know why the man couldn’t trust them with these information and thought the other deserved to know, he may not like Jason, but this would make this worse for a long while, he glanced at Bruce who looked both heartbroken and angry then at Jason who looks so….tired and he can swear he could see tears gathering at the edge of his eyes.
Jason himself couldn’t stand this anymore, the utter disappointment in those blue eyes from Bruce made him feel like a kid all over again, he wanted to cry but didn’t not want to give them the satisfaction of seeing him break, so he left, ignoring the calls of his name which he was sure were only Steph and Duke trying to get him to talk it out and make things right, but to be honest? He was tired of playing this game too, he will never be good enough for them, as much as he tries, they will only see him for his mistakes, he could die a thousand times over and it would not erase his sins.
He is so tired.
He doesn’t know when he gets back to his apartment, he felt numb, his whole body felt like collapsing, he just wanted to feel nothing, just…drift away.
Maybe cutting was a mistake,they were right, if he really was suicidal then he wouldn’t be a coward and just die already, right?
He can fix that.
“No, no! Our boy is sad, sisters!” Alnilam exclaims with an exaggerated gasp.
Alnitak pouts. “I knoooow, why are they so mean to our sad white boy?”
“We should help!” Mintaka offers. “We can’t just let him off himself, right?”
They all exchange a genuine concerned look.
“Maye he will make a wish for things to get better?” The youngest asked hopefully.
“NoboDy wishes upon a star nowadays, hun” The eldest said regretfully.
“Ugh, people nowadays are so boring, where is the whimsy?”
“Uh, girls” Alnitak gets their attention “Can’t we just wish upon ourselves?”
…
“...well, we never tried that”
“It may work!
“Okay…. so what’s the plan?”
Alnitak let out a maniacal laughter.
Oh this is going to be fun!
Jason woke up to tears falling down his face, there right in front of him was Rose, crying as she caressed his face, a faint smile on her face
“You damn idiot, why didn't you call me? I told you, you can count on me when it gets this bad!” She scolds him without any actual bite.
He looks away ashamed. “I didn’t think, I just… wanted to feel a little bit of peace”
Fuck, he really didn’tg want ot have survived this, it would have been better for everyone if he had died and…wait, he frowned. “How did you get here? Weren’t you in Hawaii with Joseph?”
Rose sighed. “I was…but…okay, this is going to sound crazy, but apparently the stars brought me here?”
He blinked dumbly at her; “What?”
“Literally” She says nervously as she glances to her side.
Jason follows her gaze only to find three little girls staring at him like they were seeing their favourite character from a show come to life.
“Who–”
“Hiiiii! Oh my gosh, I’m so excited!” The one with black hair and heterochromatic blue and green eyes beams at him getting in front of his face. “This is a dream come true!”
The white haired girl with the same mismatched eyes but inverted said: “He looks more pathetic face to face” She looks ... .satisfied by that?
“I still can’t believe this worked” The third girl said, looking at her own hands as if she didn’t have them before. She had white and black hair, grey eyes just like Rose’s.
“....okaaay….who are you?” He asked very confused, why are there children here, how does that explain his girlfriend being here, and where the stars come into this?
“We are your daughters, duh!” The black haired said as if it was obvious.
“What?!?” He gives Rose a betrayed look.
“Oh don’t look at me like that!” She snorts. “They look like they are five and we’ve been together for only a year” Then glares at him. “And I would never hide a child from you, dumbass” She punches his shoulder.
He winces. “Yeah, that’s true, but then how?”
“Remember the stars I told you about?” She arched a brow glazing at the girls.
“....wait, these kids are actually literally stars!?”
“Yuuuup” The white haired girl said smugly.
“....what the fuck”
“Hey, we are just babies, you can’t cuss in front of us!” The duo color haired one gasped.
“To explain everything, we are the stars from Orion’s Belt– The white-haired started.
The black-haired cut her off. “Or as the Brazilians call us, The Three Marys! Which is way cooler in my opinion—”
A slap from the other one and she shut up
“—and we just were bored and didn’t want you to die so we brought Rose here to save you” She finished.
Okay, this does sound crazy, he would never have thought that stars were sentient. “And you being my daughters….?”
“Oh we kinda like, like you a lot! So we wanted to be your kids! And since you and your girlfriend seemed to be on good terms we made sure our meat vessels are blood related to you both!” The black haired said excitedly.
“Eww don’t call it a meat vessel…” The one with grey eyes makes a disgusted noise.
Okay, yeah, that’s fucking insane, maybe he did die after all, or he has been drugged and is having the worst post weed clarity ever.
“Babe, this is very real” Rose says, trying not to laugh.
“Oh did I say that out loud?”
“Maybe”
“I just…holy shit, I’m going to be a terrible father” He panics, focusing on the current problem here, because there is no way someone fucked up like him can be a good parent, specially to literal stars! They deserve better than him for fucks sake!
“Well, we don’t think you will be bad, on the contrary!” The black-haired lifts a finger as if ready to prove a point.
“We just wanna make you happy…” The grey-eyed one whispered.
“If you try to get rid of us I’ll nuke this city” Said the white-haired with a sweet smile.
…seems like he is a dad now? Yay?
“Good!” The girl said happily.
What the fuck is his life?
He didn’t sign up for this when he tried to kill himself!
