Chapter Text
This week, CORTIS had been tasked with creating a song that was “like water”.
After spending three days trying desperately to come up with ideas, James had suggested they all visit the beach for a day to get some inspiration. Keonho perked up at the mention of a large body of water and the decision was made, CORTIS was going to the beach. After a quick phone call to their manager, not only had Martin successfully gotten permission to go, he had convinced them to let them take the company car.
The next day, they all got up early, trying to beat the morning traffic. James was assigned driver because he was the only one with a license and Martin managed to snag the passenger seat after a short game of rock paper scissors. That left Juhoon with Seonghyeon and Keonho, who were sitting together in the back as usual.
Martin took responsibility for the sound system, trying to choose music that was “like water”, eventually asking the others for their suggestions.
James responded instantly, “Water by Tyla!”
Martin raised an eyebrow, “Is that just because the title is literally water?” he said, still queuing up the song.
James just flashed him a grin, only taking a moment before turning back to look at the road. After a beat of quiet, Keonho spoke up, “Water by SEVENTEEN sunbaenim!”
“Okay, no more suggestions will be accepted at this time.”
While James and Juhoon laughed at Martin’s response, Keonho pouted, quickly turning to Seonghyeon for support, only to find the other boy already fast asleep on his shoulder. Keonho quickly got over their hyung’s teasing, his mouth curving into a pleased smile. With utmost care, he rearranged the smaller boy, pulling Seonghyeon’s legs to lay over his own and slipping his arm around the other’s shoulders. Seonghyeon shuffled closer, still asleep, unconsciously pressing his face into the crook of Keonho’s neck. What had begun as a small smile widened into a ridiculous grin, and Keonho tilted his head to rest on Seonghyeon’s, easily settling in to sleep through their two hour drive.
