The Odyssey Project
- When the astrophage were discovered, the Odyssey Project was formed as an attempt to save Earth. Unlike the canon Hail Mary, these astronauts believed they would be coming back home.
- The spacecraft launched by the Odyssey Project was the Argo III.
- The computer system in the Argo III was named “Jason” by Rocky, as a callback to the ancient Greek hero Jason that was aboard the original Argo.
- 13 astronauts boarded the Argo III, but the other twelve had health complications along the way and were unable to survive. Rocky was close friends with all of them.
Rocky: Mica ‘Rocky’ Sterling
- Occupation: Spacecraft systems engineer for NASA
- Age: ~31-34
- Nickname: Rocky
- He got this nickname by being "as stubborn as a rock" about a certain mechanic on one of the spacecrafts he designed. This mechanic later saved the mission, earning him the nickname “Rocky” at NASA
- Ethnicity: African American, Filipino
- Hometown: Petoskey, Michigan
- Hobbies: Pottery, wirework, drawing
- Spacecraft: the Argo III
- The original Argo is an ancient Greek ship, and is the ship heroes traveled on during the story of the Odyssey
- Additional Notes: Rocky has an eidetic memory and remembered everything upon waking up on the Argo III. He is a huge fan of football. Rocky was allowed to bring a small amount of clay onto the spacecraft and creates a human astronaut that is then sent back to Erid through Graces probes. Rocky listens to whale song to fall asleep. Was raised Catholic until his parents died when he was 12 years old and now identifies as Atheist.
Grace: Ryland Grace
- Occupation: Erid scientist, Schoolteacher
- Age: unknown
- Human name: Grace
- Rocky named him Grace because he felt as though Grace was his “saving grace”. While Rocky is no longer religious, the name still resonated with him.
- Once Grace moves to Earth, he wishes to adopt a human first name as well. Ryland was the name of one of Rockys friends that died on the Argo III, so he names Grace after his friend.
- Hobbies: listening to Hatsune Miku
- Spacecraft: The Hail Mary
- Rocky named it after the football play
- Additional Notes: His voice box is Ryan Goslings voice. He views Rocky as one of his schoolkids because of the age gap between Eridians and Humans. Since Eridians are inexperienced in spacetravel, the Hail Mary did not have enough fuel to make it back home. There was an accident where the astronauts that were supposed to be aboard the Hail Mary died, and subsequently Grace was forced to go. Once on Earth, he becomes a professor under protection of NASA. Really likes Vocaloids and Hatsune Miku.
Adrian Sterling
- Occupation: Frequency analyst and radio engineer at NASA

- Ethnicity: Indigenous American, South Korean
- Hometown: Saint Paul, Minnesota
- Hobbies: Making music with Grace, baking
- Additional Notes: Rocky and Adrian met in high school and started dating, then got married at 22. Adrian and Rocky fought a lot after Rocky volunteered for the Odyssey project, but they eventually made peace with his decision. They never lost faith that Rocky would come back home.
