Chapter Text
It is October of 1997. It's been a few days since you finished packing in your new town Paradise. It's known to be an awfully hot town, the weather going up to 110 degrees, although recently it's been much colder. You've been content with the boredom of Paradise; it's quite a restricted town consisting of people you find a bit odd, but that boredom has shifted when you've gotten to know your new neighbor.
You haven't really had the chance to see this neighbor of yours; you've seen him glaring from his window from time to time. You figured that you'd want to make a good impression on him, so you came up with a plan to craft him a little card and bake him a dessert. You made a trip to your local craft store then the lucky ganesh to pick up ingredients. You weren't the best baker, but your crafting skills made up for it. Once you were done, you wiped the sweat off your forehead from all that hard work you'd completed. You decided to rest up and knock on his door tomorrow.
It's the next day, you've woken up bright and early to see your neighbor. You put on your most pleasing outfit and gather the cake and card you've made. You swiftly put on your coat before you walk out the door. The cool breeze hits your body sending a shiver through your spine, you walk closer to his home. You take a gander at all the decor: he has a dingy welcome home mat, the plants on his sidewalk had all perished, and the white outside of the home had a brown undertone. His home had given you an eerie feeling, yet you persisted on and knocked on his door.
The door creeps open revealing a tall, lanky figure. He lowers his body so you're in eye's view. “Hi, why are you here?” his voice rumbles out Now that you've looked at him closer, he's quite good-looking yet intimidating. He has long, greasy ginger hair, he has an unshaved goatee and under his sunglasses he has emerald green eyes. “Hi there! I'm your new neighbor. I came here with this” you stretch your arms out so he can see the cake and card you made more clearly. “i did'nt know what flavor you'd like.” “Leave it by the door” he says in a monotone voice You're quite shocked by this but you just figure that he's not a conversational person “oh, well, alright then, it'll be here for you!” before you can completely finish your sentence he shuts the door, you think to yourself, “ is this what i get for being nice?”
You make it back home, quite exhausted from that interaction. You put on your pajamas and plop down on your couch. Before you can settle down completely you see a paper slip underneath your door. You hesitate, but curiosity takes over. You gingerly make your way to the paper and pick it up, it reads…
Dear (name), The cake you have given me was rather delicious; the card was embellished greatly. I'd like the pleasure of seeing your lovely face once more. Come by again soon. -Dude
The note was awfully sweet, considering he seemed so cold when you met him, but you can't shake off the shivers knowing you've never told him your name before. You proceed to brush this thought off, guessing that he might have heard from the people in your town. You lay down in your bed, you're eager to find out why he might want to truly see you again. As you ponder about what might occur for you the next day, you drift off to sleep.
