Chapter Text
The room was filled with chaos as it normally was at Untamed while they prepared for their newest release. Fashion week was in a month, and they still had so much work to do. That usually meant Yeosang was just as swamped, if not a little bit more, as the rest of the crew. He liked it though. Having his mind busy helped him get through the day. Wooyoung and Seonghwa would complain about it to him, but he would usually brush it off as another day at the studio.
Today, he busied himself with fixing the stitches in some suits that Hongjoong mentioned needed some adjustments; he, of course, got on it right away. He had agreed that some of them looked sloppy, and he would be the first to admit he was a perfectionist.
As he sat on his chair to the side away from all the chaos so he could truly focus, he felt some lingering eyes on him. When he looked up after a moment, he noticed Jongho immediately looking the other way. Choi Jongho tended to stare at him sometimes, and for some reason, he hadn’t felt weirded out by the alpha’s gaze. Something about Jongho’s gaze screamed curiosity and not desire, as some alphas have done. He thought it was cute how he would react every time as well. For such a stoic bodyguard, he wasn’t as tough as he acted sometimes.
He turned back to his stitching and made sure to focus. Hongjoong would be sure to kill him, not really, because Seonghwa would calm him down before he had a chance, if he didn’t finish these today. The last thing they wanted was to be behind schedule. So he worked expertly on each piece, and by the end of it, he realized an hour had already passed. He didn’t realize how intricate all of it was until he felt his stiff back protest and his fingers cramp.
He stood with the clothing and found Hongjoong standing and watching a model walk. He stood there with San, probably conversing about any adjustments. When his lavender scent hit them, they both looked over. Yeosang blinked in shock at how they both suddenly turned to him. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. I finished these.” He said, handing them to Hongjoong, who gave him an appreciative smile.
“Ah, yet another impeccable stitch job, Yeosang-ssi! Good work!” Hongjoong said with a wide grin. Yeosang had found it funny how much Hongjoong had changed because of Seonghwa. He’s always been a trustworthy alpha, but he was usually moody before.
“I will get back to work then, let me know if you need me.” He said simply dismissing himself. He was a man that preferred to work alone, so not wanting to socialize was normal to the others.
“Oh Yeosang, it’s the end of the day. I really don’t need anything else right now. You can go home if you want to.” Hongjoong advised.
He would have loved to, but he had some work of his own that he knew he had to get done. Something not important to Hongjoong right now, but he’d rather have it done in advance. He’d rather be caught up and stress free than the other option. “I just got some stuff I want to finish first, when I’m done I’ll go home. Shouldn’t be too long.”
Hongjoong eyed him for a moment, he knew him well. He worked with him for years now, just one glance and he could read him like a book. They both knew it would take a while, one time Yeosang had said the same and didn’t leave until at least midnight. Hongjoong just worried for the other. “Very well, I’ll just need someone to stay after too.” He said.
“You really don’t—”
“Ah perfect, I just remembered Jongho has a late shift, head of security is always here.” Hongjoong said simply. Both of them looked towards the security guard across the room for a moment.
He knew he hadn’t much of a choice so he sighed. “Okay. I promise I will try to not be out too long.”
As soon as he was dismissed dread filled his gut. Jongho wasn’t a terrible guy, but he just wanted to be alone. Especially in the late hours of the night, it was truly how he worked best. He would just have to deal with it and do his thing.
With a sigh he moved to the more private spots of the studio and got to work, unsure how long this was going to take.
ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
Time definitely got the best of him.
When he looked up just as he finished the last task on his mental to do list, he realized the time. He let out a tired sigh and stretched feeling a few bones crack. When he looked over he saw Jongho lingering in the distance. He was at his desk, eyes on the computer. He hated that he stayed this late because of him, but from the sounds of it, he worked around the clock.
He stood up stretching once more before he moved to collect his things. As he did so, out of the corner of his eye, the alpha noticed. He stood up as well and when Yeosang approached him he looked stiff as a board, the pine scent of his was sharp and attentive. Yeosang resisted the urge to smirk, instead he nodded to him. “I’m going home now, you should too. You really didn’t have to stay.”
Jongho shook his head. “No it’s okay. I was staying late anyway. There were some things I was catching up on as well. Being the head of security, you’re always needed.” He said with a soft shrug.
Yeosang smiled softly. “I get that, there’s never a break when you work at Untamed.”
Jongho hummed and then looked at Yeosang. “Do you need someone to walk you home? Will you be okay?”
Yeosang raised a brow at him, if you worked at this company you should know there isn’t such a thing as dainty omegas. “No, I've walked home plenty of times before, I should be okay.”
Jongho looked unsure, he looked like he really wanted to walk with him or at the very least, walk him out of the building. However, Yeosang was just as stubborn as the face of Untamed. “Okay, that’s fine. I figured I’d offer.”
“Thanks, I really appreciate the offer. You really should try to wrap up things here as well.” Yeosang said softly. With a soft nod from Jongho he left him to go back to his work. He felt bad when he saw the stack of work he had on his desk, but Yeosang was exhausted and wasn’t sure how much longer he could go.
So he left the studio and as soon as he walked outside the cool night air hit him. He let out a soft sigh before he glanced at the time on his watch and with just a look, he knew he had missed all the buses, he had already accepted he would need to walk.
He turned the direction to his home and got moving. Enjoying the silence, but not really, more likely the night noises of Seoul. The busy city was never silent as it was when he lived in the countryside. He missed that peacefulnes sometimes, but he remembered why he came here. He came here for a fresh start. Away from what he had before.
He could never look back.
He was walking for about five minutes when he noticed a presence behind him. He wouldn’t dare look back, the city always had life within it, so he tried to think nothing of it. Even if it did cause an unsettling feeling in his gut. He wasn’t sure why and he tried to calm his nerves and not allow his scent to sour. It all made sense though, when the individual got closer. He tried not to react and move quicker.
Strong whiskey with a hint of burnt oak made his stomach churn.
His heart raced as he walked, to the point he started speed walking. It was no use though as a strong and painful grip stopped him. Suddenly he was dragged to the side and despite Yeosang’s struggles, the alpha was stronger. He never thought he’d see his face again or have to fear for his life. However, here he stood on an unfortunate empty street, as he stared up at him.
“Trying to run from me again?” His voice asked, the tone alone sent goosebumps along his skin. “Like you did all those years ago…”
Yeosang ripped his arm out of the alpha’s grasp. He was shaking, but he refused to allow the other to see it. He clenched his jaw and tried to create space between them. “I left because it was better for both of us, Kyungmin.”
“Better for who? Not me. You left me in the middle of the night, without even a note! I woke up to all your stuff gone. As if you didn’t even love me.” His voice reeked of manipulation and alcohol and it made Yeosang want to run, but what more could that do?
“I did love you, but you know what we had wasn’t healthy.” He tried to reason. Suddenly he was roughly pushed against the brick of the building. Yeosang let out a cry, mixed with pain and fear. He worried what would happen from here.
“What we had was special… and you threw it away, Yeosang.” He growled. “I was heartbroken.”
There was no getting sense into his head, it was clear. He could keep arguing but the alpha would keep turning it on him, blaming the omega would always be easier. That was a common issue unfortunately. So, despite him pushing against the alpha, he could only stand there weak and helpless. Especially when he felt his body practically pressed against him.
He was going to die here.
“You don’t understand how much I missed our nights. Where we touched each other…”
He felt himself reach down and Yeosang’s scent spiked, he was afraid. He wanted to cry, but his stubborn self refused to allow him that. He looked away and clenched his eyes shut, but a hand gripped his face and brought him back to look him in the eye. “Yeosang look at me.” He could smell the alcohol on his breath, partially it was from his scent.
“Kyungmin please, you’re drunk—”
“I said look at me!” He shouted. The tone, the scent spiking, and just everything made Yeosang flinch. He was about to but that was when he felt Kyungmin get ripped off of him. When he slowly opened his eyes the sharp pine scent from Jongho made him let out a breath of relief. He watched as Jongho pushed Kyungmin away.
“Get out of here or I’ll make you regret it.” Jongho’s tone was firm and it was different from the nervous energy he had earlier. All Yeosang could do was stare.
“Listen here man, that bitch—”
Yeosang widened his eyes when Jongho punched the other, hard enough to cause him to stumble away. “Leave.”
Kyungmin glared at him before he looked at Yeosang once more. Just the glance alone told Yeosang something, a chill went down his spine as he was unsure what to say. He could only watch Kyungmin turn around, and Jongho approached him as he stood there.
“Yeosang? Are you okay?”
As soon as the alpha was out of sight, fresh tears spilled in his eyes and he began to shake. Concern spiked in the pine scent from Jongho, instead of the sharpness he was just pushing out, it was softer. It almost comforted Yeosang but the second Jongho hesitantly reached out to place his hand on his shoulder he stood immediately off the wall. “I’m fine.”
“Yeosang. You’re clearly shaken up…”
“Well I was just assaulted by someone I’ve been avoiding for years. I’m going to be a little shaken.” He said.
His back was turned away, but he could feel Jongho step closer. Close enough where the pine lingered, enough to let out a sigh. He wrapped his arms around himself and then he couldn’t hold it in anymore. At work, he never showed his emotions to anyone. Not even Wooyoung or Seonghwa, not to anyone he trusted like Hongjoong. So when he started to cry in front of Jongho, he wasn’t sure what to do.
For minutes they just stood there in silence, Jongho allowing Yeosang to cry a little bit longer. He didn’t rush him or make him do anything, he let him cry it out. When he didn’t leave, Yeosang wasn't sure what to do. He wanted to be alone but at the same time if he asked Jongho to go, he would regret it. So hesitantly he wiped at his face and he turned to Jongho. “You still want to walk me home?”
Jongho blinked in surprise, he must have expected him to talk about this. Yeosang wasn’t ready for this, not yet. So after a moment Jongho nodded and he signaled for the other to lead the way. Yeosang did and when Jongho trailed behind him he glanced back. “Next to me if you could.”
He was just stalked by an alpha after all. He knew Jongho had good intentions but he didn’t want to feel like he had to keep looking behind him. So when Jongho came up and stood by his side they continued.
A comfortable silence lingered between the two for a moment. He could tell Jongho had a lot of questions, whenever he glanced at him he could see it in his eye. Telling him though, would take so much energy that he didn’t have.
After a few minutes though, Jongho spoke. “You know, if you need someone to walk you home for the rest of the week. I can manage some time to do so.”
Yeosang let out the softest huff. This alpha really was the cutest in his eyes. “Don’t you have a lot of work to do?” Yeosang asked as they stopped at a crosswalk.
Jongho shrugged. “I’m the head of security, I can push time aside if I want.”
“Yeah, until you distract yourself to the point where Hongjoong gets pissed at you.” Yeosang replied playfully. His mood was definitely shifting with the warmth of Jongho’s pine. He didn’t realize how much he enjoyed it until now. The crosswalk signaled for them to go so they did.
“Hongjoong will understand. Especially after tonight.”
Yeosang’s mood immediately shifted back. He turned to Jongho immediately, stopping in the middle “You can’t tell him about tonight.”
Jongho frowned, he looked and cars were stopped but the light would turn green for them at any moment. So he carefully guided him over. Once out of traffic he turned to him again. “Yeosang, someone just attacked you. Someone should know.”
“I know, but for now it’s not a big problem, so I don’t want people to know.” He insisted. “I left him and my life behind me, I don’t want it coming up at a place where I managed to forget it all.”
Jongho eyed him for a moment. Conflict is clear in the stern gaze of the alpha. “Yeosang I don’t know…”
“Jongho please.” Yeosang said. When the alpha seemed like he wouldn’t budge any further an idea popped in his head, he knew he’d regret this. “I’ll let you walk me home every day. If that makes you feel better about this whole thing.”
Jongho blinked in surprise, he took a moment longer before he sighed. “Fine, but you have to keep your promise. It makes me feel better knowing you’ll be safe.” He said it and when he did, warmth spread through Yeosang. The way he said it made him wonder how the alpha truly felt about him.
“Deal.” Yeosang said after a moment
Jongho nodded before he signaled for Yeosang to lead the way again. As he did, he realized he was doing something he hasn’t done in over a year. He started to trust an alpha again.
They walked in silence again until Yeosang slowed when they arrived at his apartments. He turned to Jongho and the other still seemed so concerned. He wanted to tell the other he was overreacting, but if he was honest, his heart was racing at the thought of seeing Kyungmin again. “Well, this is it… I guess I’ll see you at work tomorrow?”
Jongho nodded silently, the tension building between the two. Yeosang figured he could just turn away and go in but Jongho was full of surprises. “Yeosang. I feel it’s best if I give you my number.”
The statement alone made Yeosang blink in shock. “Your number?”
“Yeah, just in case you need my help or something.” He offered, and when he noticed how timid the tone was, Yeosang could momentarily forget all the problems he had. He couldn’t believe how cute this alpha was, so, eventually, he pulled out his phone and after unlocking it he handed it over. Jongho immediately moved to put his number in it.
“If you just wanted my number you could have said so.” Yeosang teased.
Jongho’s face flushed immediately and it caused Yeosang to smirk. This was a side of himself he never expected and strangely enough he didn’t mind it. So when Jongho returned his phone, Yeosang took the opportunity to send him a text. “There, now we have each other’s number, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Jongho nodded. “I’ll see you then Yeosang.”
Then they separated and the second he heard the door click behind him, he knew he was alone. It felt painfully obvious and a funny feeling fluttered in his chest. He knew that feeling alone would be distracting and dangerous, the same feeling he had when he fell in love with Kyungmin all those years ago. He needed to be smart about this and he knew jumping on emotions would be his downfall.
So he pushed himself off the door before he headed up to his apartment, taking a hot shower was the only thing on his mind. The stink of Kyungmin lingered and if he smelled it much longer he knew he was going to be sick.
ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
The next morning, he clearly wasn’t all the way there. He tried to make it not as obvious but when Hongjoong noticed his mistakes, he knew something was off. As he stood to the side muttering curses under his breath, as he messed up the stitch again, he felt the familiar cedarwood. His eyes shot up and he raised a brow. “Oh Hongjoong… this is proving to be more difficult than I thought it would be.”
Hongjoong eyed him for a moment silently before he crossed his arms. The cedarwood made it obvious he was suspicious, the scent shifting ever so slightly. Yeosang kept his gaze down on the stitch, refusing to look Hongjoong in the eyes. “It would help if you weren’t distracting me with your scent.”
Hongjoong sighed, he pulled back the scent as much as he could. “Yeosang, you never mess up a stitch, let alone one as easy as what you’re working on.” He said.
“I know. It’s fine.”
Hongjoong clearly didn’t believe him. “Is everything okay?”
“Yes.” Yeosang said sternly, he bravely met his eyes then. Hongjoong could tell it was a lie and he knew there was no getting past anything.
“You look exhausted, why don’t you go to get lunch or take a break? Hwa and Wooyoung were going to get some lunch, you should go with them.” He suggested.
“I already told them no.”
Seonghwa was over just a moment before, asking him if he wanted to get lunch, but Yeosang wanted to be alone. He had work to do and honestly a lot was on his mind too. So he turned him down and told him maybe next time.
“Yeosang…” Hongjoong said with a huff. He looked around and when he spotted Seonghwa and Wooyoung he pulled the boss card. “Hwa! Wooyoung! He’s coming!”
“Hyung!” Yeosang immediately said, scolding the alpha.
“Go.” Hongjoong replied sternly, “You need some fresh air and when you're back your mind will be clear. Trust me, I’ve been where you’re at.”
Yeosang knew he was right, but admitting it was the hardest part. He sighed and glanced over to see Seonghwa and Wooyoung waiting, so he placed his tools down and he nodded. “Fine. I’ll be back in an hour.”
He stood and smoothed his clothes out before he moved to join the other two. He could feel Hongjoong watching him but he ignored it as he came up to the other two. Seonghwa gave him a warm smile and Wooyoung pulled him into a tight side hug. “Glad you decided to join us Sangie!” Wooyoung said.
“Come on, Wooyoung and I were talking about this cute cafe down the street.”
It was truly just down the street and when they were all seated he silently fiddled with his sleeve. Without the distraction of work, his mind went back to last night. The way Kyungmin had him pushed against the wall, the feeling causing an uneasy feeling in his stomach. He almost worried he wouldn’t be able to eat anything now, however, he still looked through the menu.
“You two doing anything Friday night?” Seonghwa asked randomly. Yeosang looked up from the menu and shook his head along with Wooyoung. “Well, Hongjoong and I were thinking about inviting people over for dinner. A celebration for how far we’ve come and how close we are to fashion week.”
“I can finally see this new house you two moved into.” Wooyoung clapped. “Count me in.”
“Yeosang?”
He looked up and glanced between the two, he nibbled on his bottom lip. He would rather much be home on a Friday night but he knew he wouldn’t have much of a choice. Something in Seonghwa’s eyes told him he really wanted him there too. “Yeah, I can make it.”
Seonghwa tilted his head. “Yeosang are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine…”
“Are you sure?” Wooyoung asked. “Because your dark circles under your eyes are really obvious, if only I brought my emergency kit…”
“Wooyoung. It’s fine. I’m fine.”
His scent soured and both of his friends could definitely sense he wasn’t fine. So when they shared a look with each other and then back to Yeosang he sighed. He really couldn’t hold this back anymore. “Okay. I’m just a little distracted, I’m sorry. Someone I didn’t want to see from my past showed up and cornered me last night.”
“What?!” Seonghwa asked in concern.
“It’s fine!” Yeosang immediately calmed him down. “Jongho showed up and took care of it.”
He said it before he could think and when his friends heard it, they smirked slightly. They knew about the lingering gazes between Jongho and Yeosang, they insisted he had a crush but he had shut them down every time. “Jongho, huh?” Wooyoung asked, his shit eating grin fully on display as he rested his chin on his fist.
He felt his face heat up and he knew he wasn’t getting out of this one. He would at least try. “Guys, it’s not like that. We both worked late…”
“Yeosang, you always say that.” Seonghwa stated. “I think it’s time you truly look at your feelings for a moment. I know you tell us that you don’t trust people easily, but there will be a point where that won’t matter anymore. Especially with how you look at him and don’t deny it.”
He would argue but he knew he was right. If anyone knew his situation, even if they truly didn’t know, it would be Seonghwa. Kyungmin and Minjae should really get together sometime with how awful the both of them were. He let out a sigh and before he could say anything their waitress came over allowing them to order their food.
As Seonghwa and Wooyoung were ordering their food, Yeosang thought to himself. Seonghwa might have been right but he wasn’t sure if his mind was willing to accept it just yet, he hated that feeling.
For the rest of their lunch he made sure not to talk about it again, and kept on the other topics they brought up. It helped him forget all his worries just for that moment and despite trying not to go to lunch, times like this were his favorite.
ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
The rest of the week flew by. It felt like the busier they got the less time they had on their hands to prepare for the big show in Milan. Throughout the week Yeosang kept his promise and allowed Jongho to walk him home. At first it was awkward and Yeosang felt bad about it. Especially when he looked over and Jongho looked as if he wanted to say a ton of things but couldn’t.
On Friday Yeosang was reminded about the dinner party Seonghwa and Hongjoong were hosting. He groaned at the reminder because all he wanted to do was go home and sleep but he promised Seonghwa. It looked important to the other and Yeosang couldn’t disappoint his friend. Plus, everytime someone mentioned the idea of having plans Hongjoong almost snapped their heads off.
So whatever this was, it was important.
He was cleaning up his station when Wooyoung approached him. He smelled his rose scent before he was even right next to him. It felt stronger than normal and when he looked at him, he could see a mischievous look on his face. “What’s up with you?”
Wooyoung shrugged. “Oh nothing.”
The second Yeosang smelled the spiced citrus on the other he knew it wasn’t just nothing. Wooyoung and San would sometimes sneak off despite the alpha acting like they weren’t a thing. They all knew about it, it wasn’t discreet at all. They were just as bad when Hongjoong and Seonghwa were keeping their relationship a secret. So he shot Wooyoung a look and moved to put his tools away. “Mhm.”
“Do you want to ride with me tonight? I feel like we need to gossip about this dinner party and maybe other things.” Wooyoung asked.
“There’s no other things to talk about.” Yeosang shot, he knew what he meant and the other wiggling his eyebrows only confirmed he was talking about San. “I’ll ride with you butonly on that condition.”
Wooyoung groaned dramatically. “Oh come on! You don’t want to gossip about this possible relationship with Jongho?”
“Wooyoung.” Yeosang sternly spoke. His lavender scent soured and that was enough for Wooyoung to understand. “Jongho is just doing his job, there is nothing going on between us.”
“Okay, okay.” He said, holding his hands up. He then eyed him for a moment, almost trying to figure him out. Yeosang was glad he moved on though. “We can still gossip about this dinner party right?”
Yeosang let out a sigh. “Yes.”
The other smirked widely, clapping his hands in excitement. Yeosang had to admit he was also curious about what this party was about. So a little gossip about that was something he could handle.
Yeosang had cleaned up before he gathered his things. They then moved to leave together, he saw Jongho at his desk focused hard on something and despite his denial earlier, he secretly wondered if he’d see Jongho there tonight. He knew how busy he was, so he wasn’t sure if the other had time.
The second the elevators closed Wooyoung spoke up. “Don’t worry he’ll be at the party tonight— OW!” Wooyoung whined after Yeosang slapped his arm. “I was just telling you!”
“I know what you were doing.” Yeosang shot before the elevator doors opened and they walked out to the car garage. Wooyoung grumbled while they walked to his car. There was silence between the two at first but Wooyoung, being the gossiper he is, spoke after a moment of sulking. “So, what do you think it is? Pregnant or a new project?”
Yeosang choked on his spit when the other spoke. Seonghwa and Hongjoong had been mated for almost a year now, they had barely just moved in, a pregnancy wouldn’t be too far fetched but they both were so career focused. “You think he’s pregnant?”
“I have a feeling, Seonghwa has that glow and Hongjoong kept threatening everyone who had other plans. He’s already protective.” Wooyoung shot playfully. His eyes focused on the road but he still glanced over with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
He thought about it and figured that Wooyoung could be right. Seonghwa’s peony scent had become sweeter in the past few days. “Maybe. If it is, we should act surprised…” He said.
Seonghwa seemed anxious at lunch the other day, no he knew he had to have been keeping something hidden. Ruining his moment was the last thing anyone wanted, especially with Hongjoong. When Wooyoung nodded there was another moment of silence, before he asked something that took Yeosang by surprise. “Do you want pups?”
The question was something he truly never thought of but when he did think of it he felt unsure. He knew he had every ability to have them but in a world so cruel he wasn’t sure if he wanted to bring his own out into it. “I’m not sure, I’ve never really thought about it.”
“Never?” Wooyoung asked.
“Nope.” Yeosang said casually, shrugging it off. There was a time when Kyungmin and him thought about it but he got worse. Yeosang had fled that life before they could properly think about it.
“I do. I think I want a couple.” He said eyes with a dreamy haze. “I think I knew I have since I was little. Since my little brother came into my life. I think I’d be the best parent.”
Yeosang couldn’t help the small smile. Wooyoung had his moments but he could envision the other being such a good parent. Just seeing the other talk about it brought joy to his eyes. “I agree.”
They arrived about ten minutes later, the traffic in Seoul at rush hour was thankfully not too packed. When they parked outside of Seonghwa and Hongjoong’s shared home just out in the country, Yeosang realized they were first. Minus the car already there that belonged to Hongjoong.
He didn’t want to be the first one in, but Wooyoung was already stepping outside of the car. So Yeosang knew he had to follow, otherwise he would look silly just sitting in the car alone. They walked up the steps together and knocked on the door, which was shortly followed by Seonghwa opening the door.
“Hey guys. Come in, food is being finished up now.” He said warmly, the both of them could see the nervousness behind Seonghwa’s eyes and they shot each other a look, a quick one that Seonghwa didn’t catch.
“I hope Hongjoong isn’t cooking.” Wooyoung shot playfully.
“No.” Hongjoong said from the dining room as he was arranging plates. “Don’t worry, I’ve already been banned from the kitchen.”
“Me cooking this meal doesn’t require two people.” Seonghwa said immediately and placed a kiss on the alpha’s lips.
Eventually more people showed up. San showed up first, a bottle of wine in hand. Yeosang noticed two people’s reactions to his presence. First was Seonghwa, he eyed the alcohol for a moment before thanking him. He took it and placed it on the counter next to the other drinks. Second was Wooyoung, the mischievous glance in his eye met San’s serious look. Immediately the alpha turned away and got settled.
Yunho showed up alone but Mingi followed behind shortly after. Once again, they all glanced around at each other knowing damn well it was suspicious how they had come in but they never said anything.
The last person to show up made Yeosang relieved when he didn’t realize he was worried about it. Jongho had hurried in and let out a sigh as they were placing the food at the table. “Jongho ssi, you made it. I hope you weren’t overworking yourself.”
He gave a small and tight smile. “Yeah, I’m not, don't worry, just working on that new camera system at Untamed.” He said before he removed his jacket. Yeosang had to look away to resist the urge to stare when he saw how fitting his clothes were on his body. Normally Jongho worked with the jacket he removed, hiding his body shape easily with the puffy jacket.
Why was he acting this way?
Jongho moved over and his seat was across from Yeosang. They barely spared a glance at each other before the food was all out on the table. “Well, you made it just in time.” Seonghwa said.
The food could be recognized instantly by the delicious and tempting aroma of galbi jjim. The meat looked perfectly made and was placed in the center. Sides of kimchi, soybean sprouts and rice were also available for them. It looked perfectly displayed and they all could tell Seonghwa was doing it for a reason.
“Hwa, why don’t you say why we invited everyone here?” Hongjoong said, comforting the other. He fidgeted with his hands for a moment and when he took a second to look at everyone a teary smile came to his face.
“I’m pregnant.”
Everyone suddenly gasped and the silence that followed caused Seonghwa to look around with a worried glance. However Wooyoung started it off with a loud and excited congratulations, which was expected from the other. Eventually everyone else joined in, even the quiet Yeosang.
“How far along?” Wooyoung asked.
“Just a few months, we found out last week.” He said, giving Hongjoong a smile before he turned to the rest of them. “I’m glad you all are here where I can tell you. Now, we can continue talking about it but let’s eat before this gets cold.”
Dinner continued and so did conversations about Seonghwa’s announcement. Yeosang merely listened in and occasionally said a few things in return. The atmosphere and everything was perfect. At that moment he really could forget about all the stress he was facing.
ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
“Ahhh Sannieeee! I was having so much fun! One more glass!”
Yeosang watched, at the end of the night, Wooyoung being brought to his car with San not allowing him to drive at all. Of course Wooyoung decided it would be great to celebrate with the bottle of wine San brought and his ass drank most of it. So now, San took it upon himself to take him home, leaving Yeosang without a ride.
He sighed, getting ready to gather his stuff and look at the bus schedule or something to get him home until the familiar scent of pine washed over him. He looked over to Jongho, who looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Do you need a ride?”
Yeosang blinked in shock. “Oh, uh…” He glanced at Wooyoung being put in the car. “I was planning on just taking the bus home…”
Jongho didn’t like that, a concerned look crossed his face and Yeosang knew why. Ever since Kyungmin attacked him, Jongho has had a protective nature around Yeosang. “I mean, I can just take you home.”
“Jongho you don’t have to—”
“I want to.” Jongho said immediately.
Yeosang blinked, he was truly serious about this, he knew if he said no he wouldn’t drop it. When he glanced at his phone he saw the bus routes were behind anyway. “Well, good thing I don’t want to wait an hour and a half for the bus.” He said. “Thank you, Jongho.”
After saying goodbye to Seonghwa and Hongjoong and giving them one last congratulations, they headed to Jongho’s car. The car was new, black and sleek, it looked like a car that the head of security would drive. Once inside, Yeosang buckled up and folded his hands in his lap as the alpha got in on the driver’s side.
The first few minutes were silent. Yeosang simply would stare forward or out the side where he could see the buildings of Seoul get closer. The silence drove him crazy though, so eventually after picking at his shirt he spoke first. “So uh, Seonghwa and Hongjoong. Exciting news.” He said it so awkwardly that he felt embarrassed and of course the alpha caught on, a small smirk on his face.
“I think we all had a feeling, especially with how Hongjoong has been. Seonghwa can keep a secret but Hongjoong can’t.” Jongho said with a smirk.
“Wooyoung and I thought the same.” He replied. A comfortable silence fell between the two then, it gave Yeosang the chance to process his thoughts. One thought in particular hit him, and it was how he felt around the alpha in the car with him. He would deny all he wanted about how there was nothing going on between them, but sitting in the car with him and feeling the warmth from the car and the pine scent hitting him, he felt safe. A feeling he hasn’t felt in forever.
As they approached his apartment, he almost felt disappointed.
So when Jongho parked, Yeosang hesitated for a moment and thought maybe he was going crazy for what he was about to ask, but he wouldn’t know until he asked. “Thank you Jongho, would you maybe want to come inside for a drink, maybe some tea? It’s the least I can do for saving me from what I would have endured on a bus.” He said in a light hearted tone.
Jongho blinked in surprise, his pine scent had a hint of interest when the other offered him inside. He almost worried after a moment of the other contemplating, he feared he would be turned down but a warm smile came on his face before he nodded. “Sure.”
His heart skipped a beat before he could nod back and he hopped out of the SUV with the other. He led him to the building and when he allowed him inside, he felt proud of himself. He felt proud that he was allowing himself to trust Jongho to come over. To have him come inside and for a split second he wondered if maybe the relationship could go further.
Wooyoung would be yelling ‘I told you so’ by now.
“If it’s messy, you’ll have to disregard it, I try to keep my place as clean as possible.” Yeosang stated as he pulled out his keys from his bag.
“I don’t mind at all, I feel like I’m the same way.” Jongho said
“Well, hopefully our ideas of messy aren’t too different.”
Jongho chuckled and before he could say anything further they both sensed something was wrong. The air felt tense, especially when Yeosang’s front door was slightly opened. His heart raced as he approached but Jongho immediately moved to lead the way inside. The other’s scent was suddenly sharp and focused.
He locked the door, didn't he?
He didn’t end up leaving it open by accident?
Sometimes he tends to forget…
When the door was pushed open, Yeosang gasped when he saw the apartment ransacked. Things were thrown everywhere, everything disorderly. He felt shaky then, because that was when it hit him, this only happened after what happened earlier this week. He knew who could be responsible and it just made it worse.
Kyungmin.
ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
The next hour sped through, honestly Yeosang had spaced it the whole time by disassociating. He remembered Jongho had immediately called the police while he stood there in shock. He remembered them coming at some point and sitting down with him to ask questions about who could have possibly done this and he had told him his name and information.
Lee Kyungmin, twenty eight years old, alpha.
After he answered their questions they left him be and he ended up sitting on his couch. Observing the scene in front of him. The disregard for his things and everything else truly stung. It was the same in their shared home, some days he would throw their very nice plates. Sometimes the alpha wondered why they never had guests over.
At some point the police left and when he felt the scent of pine hit him, he could feel himself slowly crumble. He hugged himself tighter and suddenly tears came down his face. “Yeosang…” Jongho said softly.
Yeosang met his eyes and suddenly his lip wobbled, all the emotions that had been stacked up suddenly exploded then. He cried out of fear that he would have to run again, just as he felt settled and able to choose his own life. The alpha would find him no matter how hard he tried to hide.
He didn’t expect strong arms to pull him close. He stiffened when he was pulled into a hug. For a moment he wasn’t sure if he should run or stay but when the pine lingered he hesitantly stayed in the hug and even pulled him closer. They stayed like that for a moment, Jongho holding Yeosang close and Yeosang probably ruining Jongho’s shirt with his tears and snot. Jongho would allow him to cry it out though, he would let him get it out before he would say anything else.
After a while when Yeosang seemed to eventually calm down, Jongho carefully pulled back. “You know you can’t stay here right?” He asked.
Yeosang let out a shaky sigh, he pulled himself back and wiped at his face. “I know but, where would I even go Jongho? I can’t just go to Wooyoung’s or anything.”
Jongho shrugged. “You could stay with me.”
Yeosang immediately looked at him, his eyes still red from crying. “Jongho, I couldn’t do that to you. You already work so hard, and to add this on as well?”
Jongho was beyond serious, there was no hesitation in the alpha’s face whatsoever. It was clear how he felt about the whole thing. “Well, I can’t let you stay here, it would literally go against my duty to protect. Besides, it will only be temporary until they get him.”
He was right, finding somewhere else to stay right now would be harder to do. The alpha knew the basics and maybe eventually he would tell him more, he owed him that much. As his hand fiddled with the fabric of his shirt, clamping on out of anxiety, he thought long and hard about it. To the point where Jongho noticed and the alpha reached out and pressed a hand on Yeosang’s. “You really got to trust me here… I only want what’s best for you.”
Yeosang’s eyes met him, the softness behind those brown eyes really spoke a lot. He knew he could trust him but it wasn’t that simple.
“You know, I can’t trust people that easily.” He said it hesitantly. It was one of his flaws, why some people avoided him. He wasn’t an open book and he really had no intention of being one.
Jongho’s hand gently squeezed his and it made Yeosang’s heart flip. “I know, and I’ll make sure you trust me no matter how long it takes.”
He didn’t run away, he didn’t push him away, he was patient and that was all Yeosang needed. He let out a sigh and glanced around the room once more. “I’ll stay with you.”
With those words, Yeosang knew things were going to change.
ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
A couple of weeks passed and Yeosang had settled in Jongho’s apartment. At first things were tense and awkward, Yeosang had to get used to a whole new space and his scent would smell sour. He felt bad every time Jongho would notice and promised he wouldn’t let it get bad. Thankfully Jongho didn’t seem to care that much.
Yeosang was thankful how relaxed Jongho was about the whole thing. He worried some of his nervous habits would get on his nerves but the alpha didn’t mind. Sometimes Yeosang even questioned if he was even an alpha, if it wasn’t for the strong smell of pine, he wouldn’t believe it.
There were some moments that Yeosang tried not to freak out about. Especially at how close the two were getting. He didn’t miss the way Jongho looked at him after a few days. Something different behind those soft round eyes. Yeosang tried not to focus too much on it but his mind will always go back to those eyes.
He watched him sometimes too, at dinner or late at night when Jongho changed to more comfortable clothes, he couldn’t help but stare at the muscles the alpha always hid. He felt like a teenage girl with a crush and he felt ridiculous sometimes. The other times though, it felt right.
The police weren’t able to find anything on Kyungmin and the more the days passed the more Yeosang felt bad for staying. So he had done what he could to at least help around the apartment and sometimes he would have to admit he may have gotten carried away. There were a few times Jongho walked into him deep cleaning a room.
Needless to say he was going crazy.
He missed his home and having no answers about Kyungmin added on to his already building stress. So it began to mess with his work. That was the last thing he wanted but when he made a couple of mistakes, Hongjoong began to catch on.
It was Thursday, they were a week and a half away from fashion week and the tension was higher. Yeosang’s mind usually remained calm in this situation but something was different. He wasn’t sure if it was the fear that Kyungmin could show up at any time or the fact he missed his home but something simmered deep within.
As he was working on an outfit, he could smell the cedarwood before Hongjoong even approached him. He mentally cursed when he noticed how smokey it smelled, the suffocating scent made him nervous. “Yeosang.”
He looked up and Hongjoong had his arms crossed. A displeased look on his face and when he noticed the fabric in the designer’s hand, he knew he was about to be scolded. “The stitching is sloppy in this one again, I thought you said you fixed it.”
“I did.” Yeosang said before he held his hand out. Hongjoong handed him the pants and when he got a good look he realized the issue. He fixed one side, but failed to see the mess on the other. “I missed it, let me get to work on it right away.”
“Yeosang, that's the third thing you’ve missed this week, if that. Our show is less than two weeks away, are you fully with us?” He asked. The tone was sharp but as the head of Untamed and Yeosang’s boss, he had every right to be this way. It did make Yeosang feel small though.
“I am.” Was all he could say.
Hongjoong couldn’t seem to believe it, especially with just the simple response. “I find it hard to believe you are. I mean come on Yeosang you’re better than this.”
It felt like a punch to the gut and Yeosang couldn’t find the words. He had no excuse and all he could do was fiddle with the fabric in his hand. “It seems I have no excuse.”
“You don’t.” Hongjoong stated sternly. He let out a frustrated sigh before he eyed Yeosang for a second. “Now is not the time to be distracted. If you’re not going to be useful, then just go home.”
That hurt.
A lot.
He felt his chest swell with guilt as more emotions suddenly flooded in, too. So he did everything he could to not look weak in front of him at that moment. He turned the material down and he gathered his things. He felt his hands begin to shake and his vision blurred with tears. Normally, he could take any of Hongjoong’s attitude but he felt different this time.
He didn’t say a word as he pushed past Hongjoong and left with his things. He didn’t say anything while he left either, even when Seonghwa called out for him, concern laced in his voice. He couldn’t let anyone see him fall apart. And when the elevator doors closed, a stray tear ran down his face.
He wiped at it quickly and told himself to at least get to Jongho’s apartment. His mind went to Jongho then, he was his ride in today, but he rushed out too fast, he couldn’t even tell him he was leaving. He sighed in defeat knowing he would have to take the bus. So he moved as soon as the elevator doors opened and he hurried out to catch the closest one.
After half an hour, a very long and agonizing one, he had stumbled into the apartment. During the ride something happened, something he didn’t want to face. Especially now that he was in Jongho’s apartment. It was also a few weeks early, he had hoped he would be able to push it off until they finished fashion week.
But the sick reminder of his heat beginning to grow within him had hit him.
That explained the weird symptoms, the stress, the crying. There was no time to prepare especially with how sudden this hit him. So as soon as he closed the door and a rough rush of his heat hit him, he ran straight to the room Jongho let him stay in. If he could just ride it out until it was over with, then it’ll be fine. That was what he hoped.
As soon as the door closed and he leaned against it he moaned when he felt his core twitch in need. He felt hot, uncomfortable and all around miserable. His hazed eyes looked towards the bed and he moved to it, with not the most coordination.
As he did, his clothes were stripped off and he worked on nesting with what he had. He half assed it and even though it wasn’t perfect, he had to accept his fate. And with a sigh he settled into the space and curled in on himself, preparing himself for the next few days.
ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
Jongho had just finished his meeting and when he walked out he noticed the lack of the lavender scent. That alone made him worry. He looked around again hoping maybe he was just going crazy but Yeosang was nowhere to be seen. With another worried look around he spotted Wooyoung and Seonghwa. Hesitantly he walked over.
“You guys haven’t seen Yeosang have you?” He asked.
They both looked over, a mix of emotions crossed their faces. He couldn’t care for the mischievous glint in Wooyoung’s face, he focused on Seonghwa’s concerned one. “He left, he looked pretty distraught.”
“Do you know why?” Jongho asked, more confused now than before.
“No, but Hongjoong has been biting everyone’s head off. I tried to talk to him about it but he won’t listen even to me.” Seonghwa said with an annoyed look.
Great.
“Thanks.” Jongho said before his eyes scanned for the alpha. Hongjoong was across the room going over something with San. So he moved forward and as he approached Hongjoong the other looked up. “Hongjoong—”
“Jongho, you smell like you’re angry, I really don’t have time for this right now.” Hongjoong said.
Jongho huffed especially since he turned away. He wasn’t going to back down so he followed him before he stood in his way, stopping him from ignoring him any further. “I need to know what you said to Yeosang.”
Hongjoong looked up at him suddenly, the tone alone made him look annoyed. “He wasn’t focused, so I sent him home.”
“He left in tears.” Jongho said sternly. Hongjoong paused as he had attempted to walk past him again. “I need to know what you said to him.”
The smoked cedarwood lightened up, before Hongjoong met Jongho’s eyes. “He wasn’t focused so I told him he wasn’t being useful.” Suddenly the alpha looked guilty. “I didn’t mean it like that…”
Jongho sighed. He didn’t have time for this now but he knew the insult definitely hurt Yeosang. From what he knew, he took pride in his work. Not to mention this Kyungmin, which he could only assume was a toxic ex, had put stress onto him. He knew he had to go home and check on him.
“I’m going to check on him.” He turned without another word.
“Jongho.” Hongjoong said immediately. He stopped before he glanced back. “Tell him I’m sorry…”
“You’ll need to tell him yourself… I’ll work on getting him back here.”
Then he left, leaving Hongjoong to stand there. Tensions were high at Untamed but Hongjoong knew better, he knew Seonghwa would definitely make his mate apologize as well. The anger issues from Hongjoong was something they all dealt with. He would have to deal with that later as his main focus was on Yeosang.

Jongho arrived at the apartment faster than planned. He may have sped a little bit but his mind was on more important things. He hurried up to his floor and the second he arrived inside his apartment he noticed how silent it was. He looked around for a moment, not seeing the omega in his line of sight at first.
“Yeosang?”
He called out and there was no response. He moved to the bedroom he allowed him in and he knocked carefully. “Yeosang? Are you there?”
He didn’t hear a response at first but something lingered and it caused the alpha to freeze. It was the smell of the other’s lavender scent but it was strong, sweet, and alluring. He gulped when he knew exactly what that was. “Yeosang are you okay?”
“Please… go away…”
Jongho frowned at how frail the other sounded. He nibbled on his bottom lip and tried to think of a response. “Yeosang. I know you’re dealing with your heat…” He started it off, he didn’t want to scare him or make him uncomfortable so he played it safe. “I just want you to know I’m not leaving this apartment. I can get you whatever you want, I’ll do whatever you need me to do, and I promise I won’t step over any boundaries…”
There was silence and he wasn’t sure what to do from there. So hesitantly he let out a sigh and stepped back. “I’ll be out here if you need me.”
He was about to walk away but when he turned away, the door opened. He froze, especially when that scent came out stronger. He looked back to see Yeosang peeking out, hesitantly eyeing him up and down.
A pink flush spread across his cheeks, a dazed look on his eyes, and his hair was sticking up in random places. He wore an oversized t-shirt and it hid what he assumed were boxer shorts. His eyes watched Jongho and he looked as if he wanted something but couldn’t get the words out. So Jongho stepped forward carefully. “What do you need?”
Yeosang looked up at him and without a second thought he threw the door open and pulled the alpha in for a kiss. Jongho let out a surprised noise, not expecting the omega to do that. A feeling hit his chest then, something full of desperate need, something he never really knew he felt for the other. He remembered feeling a closeness to Yeosang but it had never felt like this.
Their kiss deepened, passion and fire building as Jongho moved them into the room. As soon as that sweet lavender scent hit his senses he knew he wouldn’t be able to hold himself back, he needed to make sure the omega was okay with this. He would never make him do something he wasn’t sure of. So as soon as the door was closed he pushed him against the door and pulled back.
They panted for a moment staring at each other and before Jongho could get distracted any further he spoke. “Yeosang, I will only do this if you’re sure you want this.” He said, his face only centimeters from the other. When Yeosang tried to push himself close, Jongho held him against the door. “I need you to tell me you want this. I can’t just assume it by actions.”
Yeosang let out a whine, clearly desperate for more. “Jongho…” He whined out. That wasn’t good enough, he needed him to tell him.
“Tell me, and I’ll do it. I’ll take care of you, I will help you through this whole thing. If you don’t want that though, if you want me to help in some other way I can do it.” He said sternly.
Yeosang panted for a moment, his eyebrows furrowed as he stared back at Jongho, he would watch as the other looked down at his lips and back at him. It was clear the want was there but they both knew how hard it was for him to trust him. Eventually though, he spoke. “Please… please help me… touch me...”
Jongho heard the desperation in his tone and he knew he meant it. So he nodded and reached up, placing a gentle hand on his face. “We’ll go at your pace, so tell me if I need to stop or slow down at any point, okay?”
He nodded and Jongho leaned in to place his lips on his again. The desperate moan that came out of him then was something Jongho could listen to all day. The kisses grew to more passion, just like before. He made sure it wasn’t rushed or rough, all he cared about was Yeosang at that moment.
He moved down Yeosang’s neck, kissing every part of his skin, making sure he felt it. Based on Yeosang’s reaction as he pulled him close, hands clamped in his hair, Jongho knew he was doing well. The pants and moans that followed after also told him everything he needed to know.
Without a second thought he picked him up, causing the omega to let out a surprised gasp and wrap himself tightly around Jongho so he wouldn’t fall. He smirked before he brought him over to the bed. He placed him down gently and hovered above him, his hand reached up to tug at Yeosang’s t-shirt. “Can I take this off?” He asked.
Yeosang nodded. “Please…”
He complied, removing the material, leaving the omega in just his boxers. He was able to finally get a look at Yeosang right then. He was muscular, very fit and in no way the typical omega build. That stirred something in Jongho. He reached out and gently glided his hands along his skin. “You’re gorgeous, you know that?” He said as he leaned in and kissed along his neck and collarbone. He wanted to mark him up, cover him in the purplish marks, eventually, he will.
Yeosang reached up and grasped his hair again, desperate to hang onto something. His head tilted to the side as if on instinct, allowing Jongho to scent him. The alpha couldn’t refuse, especially when he realized how addicted to that lavender scent he was. The more he stayed there, he knew the longer he wouldn’t last. He grew addicted to this omega.
He pulled back hesitantly and removed himself off the bed, Yeosang whined out in protest when he was left high and dry. He watched though as Jongho removed his clothes, in a pace that was excruciating. The buttons came off one by one and when he removed his shirt Yeosang let out a breath. His torso is muscular and Yeosang just wanted to get his hands on him. “Jongho. I swear to god.”
Jongho chuckled before he removed his pants leaving him in his boxer shorts as well. “How am I supposed to do anything with my clothes on?” He said in a taunting tone before he placed a kiss on the other’s lips again. He kissed down once more, going lower and lower until he was right next to where Yeosang needed him the most. The lavender was most prominent there, making Jongho let out a groan. His eyes met Yeosang’s waiting for his approval. When he gave him the go ahead, he wasted no time.
Jongho may have ended up staring at the other longer than he should've. “Jongho, please.” Yeosang said sternly. Jongho’s eyes immediately met him before he tilted his head.
“What is it you want Yeosang?” He asked.
“Touch me.”
“Where?”
“You know where.” He huffed out.
A mischievous glint came to his eye before he scooted down, just enough where his face met the other’s leaking entrance. “Here?”
“Yes.” Yeosang groaned out, he could smell the slight tinge of sourness in his scent and he couldn’t help the chuckle. So he figured he wouldn’t torment him any further. He took a hold of Yeosang’s legs and spread him just right before the other was gasping in surprise when the feeling of the alpha’s tongue pressed hot against his entrance.
“Oh— Oh my god!” Yeosang exclaimed before he threw his head back. Jongho glanced up and Yeosang in such a state was stunning. His muscles were tightening beautifully, his nipples perked in interest and his chest rose and fell quickly. He knew the other was close and Jongho had every intention of getting him there.
A loud and high pitched gasp was heard when Yeosang’s back arched as he came. He couldn’t get enough of him and Jongho swore he was falling in love. Slowly, he pulled back and crawled back up to him. “How do you want to do this? What makes you most comfortable?” He asked.
Yeosang panted, eyes dazed from his high while he thought for a moment. His eyes then met his. “On your back, let me ride you.”
Jongho was about to move but something in the omega snapped. He was surprised when his back hit the bed. It seemed that his muscles weren’t just for show. He watched as the omega reached forward and like Jongho, he met his eyes for approval when his finger hooked into the waistband of his boxer shorts. “Go ahead.”
He removed them and Jongho hissed when the cold air hit his heated skin. His eyes met Yeosang as he straddled his waist and right as he was about to line himself up Jongho reached out, hands warm on his thighs. “Yeosang ah… you’re gonna hurt yourself. Let me at least—”
“What do you think I was doing while I was here alone.” Yeosang said.
He thought back to when he was eating him out moments ago and he remembered the other was slightly looser. Even then, he remembered it not being a lot. “Are you sure…”
He felt the tip of his length pressed against Yeosang’s entrance and he blinked in shock at how much slick he was leaking. Earlier he was leaking but now he was much more wet. His cock twitched and Yeosang must have felt it because he saw the hazed devious grin grow on the omega’s face. “Yes, I’m sure.”
With a nod, Yeosang moved to push the other in and once the tight walls sucked in Jongho’s length, they both let out a groan in unison. Slowly Yeosang seated himself and when he did, he needed a moment to catch his breath. His hands pressed down against Jongho’s muscular torso, balancing himself as he felt filled up. Jongho’s hands rubbed at his waist in encouragement.
Eventually, after adjusting to the size, he straightened himself up. Then he began to move, it started with hesitant rolls of his hips, which Jongho found addicting each time he saw the muscles of his abdomen shift, and then it led to him moving up and down. The room was silent at first, the soft creaking of the bed being the only thing heard as Yeosang built a rhythm. Eventually he was moving expertly up and down and god, the sight in front of Jongho was as heavenly as he felt in that moment.
He reached up and grasped at the other’s thighs, fingers squeezing the flesh there in reassurance. It encouraged Yeosang to keep moving, to keep showing how stunning he was and Jongho couldn’t believe how lucky he was in that moment.
Yeosang eventually began to shift, slowing down slightly and Jongho could tell his legs and body were growing tired. So he propped himself up on his elbows and the omega looked at him. “Yeosang ah… will you let me help you? Take over?” He asked softly. He craved taking care of the omega in other ways and he wanted nothing more to do so at that moment.
Yeosang whimpered, his body visibly shaking from the exertion he was experiencing. Hesitantly the omega nodded and leaned in to press a kiss or two to his lips. It wasn’t long though before Jongho used his own strength to flip the situation over, Yeosang let out a gasp as soon as his back hit the bed. Jongho smirked down at him before he hovered, kissing all over his face for a moment. “That was hot…” Yeosang whispered.
A chuckle came out of the alpha before he pulled back to reposition himself, his eyes locked onto his as he once again pressed himself inside. He could tell this way felt better for the both of them. Of course he didn’t know how Yeosang exactly felt but a loud drawn out moan was enough.
He grabbed a hold of his strong thighs and leaned in close, not only was the omega strong, he was flexible too. He smirked when the other was easily folded in half. “Good?” He asked the other, carefully rolling his hips. Yeosang silently nodded eyebrows furrowed in pleasure. Jongho smiled softly and pressed a kiss to his lips.
He then built a rhythm, not too hard but it grew in speed. The more he went the louder the omega was, he knew he was close to reaching his high again, so Jongho did what he could to get him there. Every time he let out a noise or a whine he made sure to reassure him with kisses or praises. It felt right, all of it and Jongho wasn’t sure if he wanted to let this omega go.
“Jongho… ‘m close…” He muttered out.
The alpha nodded before he focused on one thing, pleasuring the boy in front of him. This was all about him and even if he wasn’t close as well, he was going to make sure he came first. “It’s okay Yeosang ah… let it go…” He whispered praises as he kissed along his neck, nipping on certain sensitive spots.
Yeosang keened before he let out a series of gasps and came harshly. His hands instinctively grabbed at what he could and Jongho felt the blunt nails digging into his back, they stung, but in the most beautiful of ways. When he came Jongho knew he was close as well, so he was about to pull out but Yeosang shook his head. “No, please… inside…”
“But—”
“Don’t worry, I’m on a pill, please just want to feel you inside…” He begged, voice low with need. Jongho swore he could have come just then and there. He didn’t though and he focused on doing as Yeosang requested. He felt his knot swelling and he knew this is what Yeosang wanted. So he positioned himself and gave the omega a nod, as a warning.
The thrusts that followed were a bit rougher and fast but Yeosang loved it. Moans at each thrust and other noises were heard until Jongho felt his knot pop in place and then he let out a gasp as he came hard into the other.
He had to take a second before he came back to reality and his gaze went to Yeosang. “How was that?” He asked before he carefully pulled the other in his arms, trying to avoid any discomfort.
“Fucking amazing.”
Jongho chuckled. “Get some rest. I’m sure you’ll need it.”
Yeosang didn’t need to be told twice, he snuggled closer to Jongho and let out a sigh of content. Eventually, he fell asleep and Jongho knew he would need to do the same, this was just the beginning of a long few days.
ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
His heat lasted three long but amazing days. After they had sex for the first time, Yeosang woke up needy again and Jongho was immediately there to help. No matter what they did or how they did it, he hadn’t felt as good as he had in that moment.
The amount of times they did it with each other within the span of three days was to the point where Yeosang lost count. This was all led by his choices and whenever he felt he needed Jongho, the alpha was there every time. He felt bad because he had a tendency to be ungodly desperate during his heats. Jongho never had a complaint though.
The more times they did it, the more he slowly began to fall for the alpha. The feelings he had been experiencing had heightened within the past few days and the way Jongho had taken care of him had truly warmed his heart.
He felt the warmth of the sun peeking through the blinds hit him. They eventually caused him to open his eyes blearily and look around. His heat had seemed to finally die down but he was dealing with the post heat symptoms and simply felt exhausted. His body wouldn’t allow him to sleep though so he let out a huff.
The room felt comfortable with both the scent of lavender and pine infused beautifully. Maybe Yeosang was whipped already but the scents combined seemed to work perfectly. He knew he wouldn’t ever get enough of it.
His eyes met Jongho’s sleeping form then and he realized not only how close he was but how tightly he was holding him. Warmth spread on his face and he nibbled on his bottom lip to observe the sleeping boy next to him. He knew he was handsome but he was even more so up close. Gently he reached up and brushed some hair out of his face, admiring him for a moment.
“Like what you see Yeosang ah?” Jongho’s sleepy voice suddenly said, causing him to look away.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He grumbled as he mindlessly drew shapes into the other’s chest. A chuckle rumbled out of Jongho before the other pressed his lips against his. It only lasted a very short moment but Yeosang loved those three seconds.
“I called Hongjoong and let him know that we’d be out.” He said softly, he watched him carefully when he said that word and Yeosang knew why. He blew up on him and Hongjoong never did that. “He said he’s sorry, by the way.”
Yeosang hummed. “It’s okay I know he didn’t mean it, it’s not the first time I dealt with an alpha like that.” He said it before he could even think about it and when he realized he was referring to Kyungmin, he let out a sigh. Keeping him a secret wasn’t an option anymore, especially with Jongho. So he looked up at him after a moment. “I… I want to tell you everything.”
Jongho blinked in shock, this was a serious topic and he was sure being trusted was a shock alone. Jongho nodded softly before his hand came up to brush some of Yeosang’s hair back. “Believe it or not, when I was in school I was quiet, just like how I am now. I kept to myself, drew in my journals, I was happy with that. Well, my quiet bubble suddenly grew enough when Lee Kyungmin came into my life.”
Jongho’s pine scent grew sharp, a soft smile from Yeosang met him and he patted him reassuringly. “We became friends and grew close. We were in love in school and when we graduated. I thought he was the one but the second we moved in and had our life together, he changed.”
Yeosang paused for a moment to recall everything. “It started how it always did, he separated me from my family and loved ones, he cut off all contact with any opportunities of me getting out the house and then… there would be times he hit me.”
“He apologized and tried to fix it every time, but it just led to him doing the same.” He said. He felt tears spring in his eyes, he knew what was coming up was the hardest part. “Well, there was one time we had a big argument. He wanted kids, I did too, but not with him. I didn’t want to tell him the reason for not wanting kids was for him, so I lied and told him no. He beat me real bad that night. I knew if I didn’t leave then, I would die in that house.”
Jongho let out a soft sigh, his hand remained on Yeosang’s face providing comfort whenever he needed it. “I ran that night, after he left to go somewhere, I don’t remember and I don’t care but I knew he went to go drinking or something. I packed whatever I could and left… and never looked back. I thought I could trust him, I thought he’d be the perfect mate but I still feel the lingering pain deep within me whenever I think of that night.”
“Yeosang… I’m so sorry…”
Yeosang looked up at Jongho then and the alpha tensed seeing the tears in his eyes. Gently he wiped away the ones that slipped down his cheeks. “It’s in the past and I have my friends… and well now you. Even if he breaks into my home or stalks me on the street, I know I’m safe.”
Jongho sighed softly before he leaned in and pressed a few kisses to his face. It ended with a kiss full of love to his lips, he stayed there for a few seconds before he pulled back and shoved his face into the crook of his neck. “I don’t ever plan on letting you go, you’re stuck with me now Yeosang ah…” He purred into his neck.
Normally that would stress Yeosang out but that alone made his heart jump in excitement. He found someone he could trust and love. So with that in mind he pulled him close and chuckled when Jongho moved to scatter kisses all over his face.

After an hour of cuddling and kisses, which Yeosang didn’t want to stop, his stomach growled and Jongho knew they needed to get something to eat. So it took the other some convincing but eventually Yeosang let him go out and get some breakfast for the two, unfortunately the fridge was bare but Jongho used this as an excuse to treat the omega.
When he left, Yeosang got up to get showered, he needed it after the last three days. As soon as he stepped in and allowed the hot water to run across his skin he hummed, it felt good to finally wash up properly. He found it amusing that even then, the lingering scent of pine still stuck on his skin. A reminder that Jongho was there.
After the shower he took it upon himself to browse through the alpha’s closet. He may have been the same size as him but he wanted to be swallowed up in his clothes. He found it so funny how much he has changed since then, before he wouldn’t dream of being caught in an alpha’s clothes like Wooyoung or Seonghwa would talk about. Now here he was, wearing his shorts and an oversized olive green shirt.
As he looked himself in the mirror his phone rang and his attention went to that. He saw it was Wooyoung so he moved to answer. “Hello?”
“Yeosang!” Wooyoung exclaimed in his ear. “Oh my god I’ve missed you. I was just checking in, how’s everything?”
“A text would have been fine.” He teased before he sat down on the bed and he nibbled on his lip. “Well… I’m feeling better… thanks to Jongho.”
There was silence and he wondered if he dropped the call or anything but a loud gasp made Yeosang jump. “You did not! Oh my god you spent your heat with Jongho?! Tell me everything! Was he good in bed?!”
“Wooyoung!” Yeosang scolded. He felt his face heat up immediately. “It was great but the details aren’t something I should just share.”
“So? Seonghwa and I talk about it all the time.” Wooyoung said.
“No, you talk about the times you and San fool around and Seonghwa listens. He doesn’t tell you about the stuff he does with Hongjoong.” Yeosang shot back.
“I don’t need him to tell me, Hongjoong makes it obvious with all the marks he leaves behind.” Wooyoung said, a mischievous tone behind his voice. There was some background noise and Wooyoung paused before he continued. “Hey I gotta go back, we’re doing final runs. Can’t wait for you to be back here, it’s lowkey a disaster without you babes.”
Yeosang smirked. He could always rely on Wooyoung to hype him up. “I’ll be back soon, don’t worry.”
“Good. See you later!”
He hung up then and smiled down at his phone. Everything seemed to be going his way, he couldn’t be any happier at that moment. Jongho would be back any moment so he got up to go wait in the living room. The second he opened the door of the bedroom the sickening familiar scent of burnt oak hit him first and before he could react he was being pushed back into the bedroom.
“You… how did you get in here…” Yeosang said shakily as he attempted to stand up. Lee Kyungmin had thrown the door shut and shot a predatory look at Yeosang. He tried to create as much space between him and the alpha as he could. If he wanted to escape he would have to run past him somehow. He was limited on options.
“I should have known that as soon as you both came back from that party and saw that mess I left behind, you would have run off with him.” His voice was laced with venom as he approached Yeosang. “It wasn't too hard to figure out where the security guard lives, especially when I saw him leaving after you did a few days ago.”
Yeosang watched him with a careful stare, the small space felt even smaller when the burnt oak and strong whiskey pushed against him. He grew a headache especially with how much the alpha used it against him. “I will admit these apartments have weak security and locks. It was easier to break in here than it was your own apartment.”
He was right in front of him and Yeosang couldn’t run any further, he had him cornered. And he knew as soon as he smelled the pine on him, he was in trouble. Kyungmin didn’t handle jealousy well. “You slept with him didn’t you?” His tone is cold and accusatory and it made Yeosang begin to tremble in fear. “What does he have that I don’t, Yeosang?”
Yeosang gritted his teeth and looked away, especially as the other pressed closer. “Kyungmin—”
“Tell me!”
“He’s kind!” Yeosang shouts back. Bravery hit him all of the sudden so now he was face to face with the evil man he ran from. “He cares about me, Kyungmin. He doesn't beat me, he doesn’t force me to do what I don’t want to do, and he’s a better alpha than you’ll ever be!”
He pushed at his chest to get him away but the alpha wasn’t taking it. He pinned him against the wall, fury raged in his eyes. “You are mine.” He growled into the omega’s face. “No alpha is going to change that. I cared about you, I was going to treat you right.”
“You beat me!” He shouted back. Tears building in his eyes. “You never cared about me! All you cared about was controlling me!”
Yeosang screamed when he was suddenly thrown on the bed. He immediately moved to back away or try to run but the alpha was quicker. He tried everything he could to push him off but he had him pinned. He stared up, eyes wide and chest rising and falling rapidly. “You. Are. Mine.” He growled out. A sinister look came over his face then and Yeosang felt his blood turn ice. “It appears I need to make sure it’s known.”
Yeosang cried out when his head was forced to the side. His neck and most sensitive spot were exposed. He shook his head trying to push him off, somehow the alpha was stronger. “Kyungmin! No! Please!”
The alpha didn’t listen and he pushed him harder against the bed. There was no moving and he feared for the worst and right as the alpha was gonna bite into his skin, he felt his weight immediately be ripped off of him.
The smell of sharp and protective pine immediately made Yeosang let out a sob of relief.
Jongho had pulled Kyungmin off and slammed him against the door. The other alpha fought back but Jongho was stronger. “You really made a big mistake breaking into my home and if I’m not mistaken, what you were about to do was sexual assault.”
Kyungmin was about to argue but Jongho was not having it, he punched him straight in the jaw causing the alpha to stumble. Just like the first time but the smell of pure hatred and fury was strong in Jongho’s pine scent. Yeosang could only watch with his legs pulled close, as the fear of what could happen to either of them at that moment caused him to be frozen in fear.
Jongho wasn’t going to stop at one punch and it showed when Kyungmin fought back. He tried to punch him back and there were other weak attempts, especially against Jongho. The experienced security guard blocked and fought back before he had him pinned on the ground, head pressed harshly against the floor. A growl from Jongho in warning. “Move and I’ll kill you.”
When there was no resistance, Jongho let out a huff. “The cops are on their way, you’ve fucked up. I told you the first time we met I’d make you regret it.” He said harshly. The other alpha had lost and it was clear.
Yeosang knew then, he was finally free.

Yeosang watched as they took Kyungmin out of the apartment in handcuffs. He hugged himself tight, overwhelmed with emotions and waited patiently for Jongho to finish talking to the police. When he eventually smelled, the now calmer, scent of pine his eyes met Jongho’s.
“Hi.” He said carefully. He hadn’t been able to talk to Yeosang since he came back. So he wasn’t sure how he was feeling.
Yeosang let out a huff before he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around him tightly. Jongho was surprised but he wrapped his arms around the other in return, holding him close. The other’s scent helped, making his anxiety slowly go away. “Hey.” He muttered after a while.
They stayed like that, enjoying each other’s presence before he pulled back and inspected Yeosang carefully, especially around his neck. “Hey, hey, I’m okay.” He said to the other.
“If he managed to do it, I wouldn't have let him live.” Jongho said sternly.
Yeosang blinked in shock, the hint of jealousy could be sensed especially in the other’s lingering pine. So despite it all, he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around his neck. “Easy there alpha, if anyone is going to do it, I would want it to be you…”
Jongho immediately shot his gaze to him, he smirked down at the other before he pressed his lips against his. He pulled back after a moment and hummed. “You look nice in my clothes by the way. Will I have to get used to you stealing from my closet?”
“Of course.” Yeosang said with a huff.
“Good.” Jongho said smirking and Yeosang matched his smirk with his own. “I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Yeosang had returned to work after a couple of days. He needed time to get back on his feet especially after what had happened with Kyungmin. When he did, he felt like it was any other day. Any other day preparing for fashion week. They would be leaving for Milan by the end of the week so he had work to do and even now he still liked being busy.
As he was focused on the stitch of one of the outfits, a rather hard and tricky one that is, smoked cedarwood caused him to look up, but the peony from Seonghwa had joined him too. He looked between the two, an eyebrow raised and when neither of them said anything Seonghwa jabbed Hongjoong as a reminder. Hongjoong shot him a look before he spoke. “Yeosang. I just wanted to say I’m sorry.”
Seonghwa jabbed him again and the alpha huffed. “I’m sorry for yelling at you and letting my emotions get the best of me. You aren’t useless and you’re a vital part of this team.”
There’s silence, the alpha in front of him almost worried Yeosang wouldn’t accept his apology but Yeosang smiled softly to the two instead. “Did you rehearse this before coming over?” Yeosang asked teasingly.
“Yes.” Seonghwa deadpanned.
Yeosang let out a soft chuckle before he looked at Hongjoong. “It’s okay Hongjoong. It's in the past and I’m not looking back at it. I’m looking forward instead and we’ve got Milan coming up. So my focus is on that.” He said before he turned back to the pants in front of him. “I should have these to you by the afternoon.”
A surprised look came on Hongjoong’s face but it was followed by a grin. “You heard him, let’s go practice your walk.” He said as he led Seonghwa away who grumbled something about how he had already practiced. The smile still remained on Yeosang’s face because he was where he was meant to be. Untamed, doing the job he loved most and when he looked up across the room he spotted that same security guard he fell in love with.
Things couldn’t be more than perfect.

Two Years Later…
“Yeosang… relax.”
That was the thing, he couldn’t relax. The room they were in was too bright, the air felt a tad too cold and the fate of their future would be determined any moment. His fists clenched the hospital gown he wore and he glanced at Jongho. “What if they tell us it didn’t work.”
“Well we can always try again, they told us when we started trying that we’re both capable. Besides, it gets me more time with you.” Jongho teased resulting in Yeosang slapping at his chest.
“You see me every day.” He shot at Jongho.
“Yeah, but unlike Seonghwa and Hongjoong I’m not willing to do it in an office at work.” Jongho teased before he grabbed Yeosang’s hand, the other one going to Yeosang’s stomach and the slight bump poking out underneath the gown. “I just know it’ll work.”
Yeosang nodded but he was still nervous despite Jongho’s pep talk. He told Wooyoung all those years ago he wasn’t sure if he wanted pups but the more he grew in love with Jongho, the more he knew he wanted to grow with him. So they have been trying, hoping for something. He took a test about a month ago after some ungodly nausea and the test came out positive.
He’s been nervous about it ever since. Jongho would be there to reassure him though and that was all Yeosang could ask for.
A knock came at the door and the female beta doctor walked in. “Hello, my name is Dr. Huh Yunjin, I’ll be conducting your ultrasound today and we’ll check on these pups for you. How are we feeling?”
“Good.” Yeosang lied.
“We’re a bit nervous.” Jongho added. He gently squeezed the other’s hand as she brought over the machine.
“I can reassure you, there is nothing to be worried about, there hasn’t been any concerning symptoms or anything?” She asked and when they both shook their head she smiled. “Then I can assure you everything is okay. Go ahead and lay back for me and we’ll get this started.”
His gown was lifted and she hummed happily as he grabbed the gel she would use to put on his stomach. “Another good sign is a healthy growing bump.” She mentioned before the cold gel was squeezed out on his bump. When the wand from the machine was placed on, he could immediately hear the heartbeat. Relief washed over him then, as he watched her look around on the machine.
“Well… everything looks perfect, no concerning signs and if I am correct, this is the checkup for when we find out if it’s a girl or a boy, would we like to know?” She asked both of them.
They both nodded immediately. They had agreed they would want to know right away, both of them were too impatient to wait. When she turned the machine over to them to show the growing fetus she announced it.
“It’s a boy.” She said softly.
“Oh my god.” Yeosang said tears were threatening to spill. He looked up to Jongho with a big grin. “A boy.”
Jongho nodded. “A boy.” He replied to him, on the verge of tears himself.
Then the doctor said something that caused them both to freeze. “And so is baby number 2. Looks like you two are blessed with twin boys.”
Both of them moved to look at the screen and sure enough two little pups showed up on the screen. A lot of emotions had hit them all the sudden and truly they weren’t sure how to react. It worked but now they knew it truly had worked, because there were two.
The appointment wrapped up with them getting their next check up set up, as well as some other information given to them. They left hand in hand before getting in the car. Yeosang looked down at his growing bump and rubbed at it instinctively. “So it worked.” Yeosang said after a moment with a small chuckle, hoping to lighten the mood. Jongho smiled at him and he nodded.
“It did…” He said before he leaned over and placed a quick peck on the other’s lips. “We should tell everyone now huh.”
Yeosang smiled with a nod. He reached over and grabbed his hand. The hand that had a gold band as a reminder that they promised forever and now they were on their way to their next step. The next step of their future, where they would have each other, no matter what.
