Chapter Text
It was rainy. The rain was awful, he hated the weather because it always ruined his hair. Not that he put much into his appearance anyway.
The house he was staying in creaked, made weird noises and the leak coming from the roof was getting on to the side of concerning. He checked the window for his appearance before heading out to the head master's office. She had called a few minutes earlier and he knew he was pushing his luck by staying here this long. She was not a patient woman afterall.
Soon he was standing infront of her doors.
He despised those doors.
"Ah, yamada, please come in." She's never this polite, someone else must be here then.
He goes into the room without any noise and carefully closes the door.
The lady was a very tall woman, with some kind of mutation quirk seeing that she is always covered in jewlery that she can't seem to take off. Her left ear was also ripped out of the side of her head.
Someone was sitting in the chair that was turned to him. He didn't have a good feeling for this.
"Come, now. Dont stand by the door like that. Your welcome here." She beckoned not unkindly, yet there was an underlining tone of authority. One that no one dared to challenge.
Well, he also didn't dare too, so he continued his careful pace toward the woman.
Only to freeze halfway when he got a glimpse of who was in that chair.
Not noticing at first, he kept walking. But stopped to do a double take. The eyes he met were sad and remorseful, and oh so familiar.
His eyes widened a bit and then he turned back around to the head master who was currently smiling, her shit eating grin telling him everything. That this was going to be painful.
He sat at the only chair beside her, which was also facing the woman unfortunately. Better to be infront of her then next to her, right?
His questioning gaze went directly to the madam next to him.
"Im sure your confused, both of you i mean. But i belive that your mother would like to explain." She said rather happily. She must be giddy if it ment he was never coming back, even if it's probably temporary.
"In private, please." His mother asked quietly, like she was embarrassed. Of him, probably.
"Of course." The madam rised and went out of the room after squeezing his shoulder in a warning manner. He knew what that ment,
Dont fuck this one up.
After she left, he went right back to staring at his mother's soul. She was uncomfortable, twisting her green hair and making it so that it covers some of her face. Her fingers were trembling, but she was never ashamed. Only scared.
Always scared.
He didn't stop staring, he didn't want to start this conversation. He wasn't the one who called, after all. After a few minutes of silence she speaks.
"Im sorry" She says it like she's about to break. Just by being here he's breaking her.
"Im sorry, but i need you. Your- your his only option.. I can't imagine how he must feel right now. Im sorry that this is how we meet again after so long!" Her face is in her hands now. She's finally crying. "Im so sorry!! "
After her crying and his akward comfort, she calms down enough to explain.
"I have another son now, you know." She seems hesitant. Like she expects him to be mad at her for the next part. Still, he doesn't speak. "He's like sunshine. Like you, when you were younger i guess. He lives for all might and collects all of his merch, he loves writing and drawing and- just yesterday his drawings ended up on a hero magazine! He also.. "
She was gaining more confidence as she spoke and it seemed like she was completely absorbed and content into talking about her new son. Her newer better child.
He wasn't angry. He understood that he wasn't a desirable human. Anyone eould be better than him, and this just proves it.
It's fucking torture listening to this.
He taps on the wood to comunicate that this isn't getting anywhere. She abruptly stops, and looks at him in confusion. It seems to click for her and her ears turn a deep, scarlet red.
"Sorry! I completely get ahead of myself and i got a bit lost there.. "
She bows her head, and clasps her hands together.
He blankly stares at her.
Nervously, the green haired woman gets to the point, "Im sorry. I guess i should let you know that im taking you back in. I cant sugar coat this for you so here goes. "
He tilts his head curiously at her. Sugar coat?
"My son- well, your brother, Izuku, is quirkless. His father left but not before telling him why. His classmates and friends are distancing them selves from him and i- i think that they are huring him but those teachers wont do a thing! Our whole town knows so whenever i go anywhere with him, they turn me away! Can you belive that? Just because he was quirkless, and he doesn't trust me. I dont think he trusts anyone anymore.
Why is she telling him this? Is she giving hin away too? He isn't sure that he would be able to forgive her if that's the case.
"Im just so worried about him. My friend said that he just needs a friend. A companion. Someone to trust completley and to keep secrets with. A brother, persay."
What? What the fuck?
His mom, seeing how he's connecting the dots, explains futher.
"I know you hate me. And, you dont owe me anything but.. I can.. I can even pay you. Give you all the money you would need. Just please."
Holy shit? He nods his head, but he also tries to convey that he doesn't want her money, of all things, just to be a brother. He didn't even know he had a brother until now. Did she plan for them to never meet? And he's quirkless too.
Oh gods, he's quirkless?
This is too much to process.
After calming her down, again, she looks at him and frowns.
"Lets get that thing off you. It must be painful." She stands up, not waiting for a response. Hizashi freezes when he feels hands at the back of his head, unclasping his muzzle.
His eyes search for camera's, but he comes empty.
As soon as he feels cold wind on his lips, he breaths in a gulp of fresh air. Still, he doesn't speak.
"There."
His face feels sweaty and he lets his hair fall in his sides of his shoulders. It's getting long, he should cut it.
He clears his throat for the first time in weeks, his coughs are scratchy and gross and wet. There are indents in his skin, red and Irritated but it's going to be less noticable in an hour or two.
She slowly goes back into her chair and looks at him like it physically pains her to do so.
He understands, he doesn't like his father either. And recently it seems that she has a streak for bad men.
"You need to sighn a contract." Her voice was more dull now that she sees the lower half of his face. He was 15 and looked just like him.
She handed it to him and he began reading. It was about izuku. Saying how he needs to at least spend an hour actually bonding with him unless izuku doesn't want to. Any payment that is asked for will be recived.
Benifites include food, housing, water, shared room (with izuku), unlimited time without his muzzle (omg.), clothing, education.
Even though he should be happy, all he can think about is that his mother's love is a signiture.
Nonetheless, he cant possibly pass this up. When was the last time he brushed his teeth?
So, he quickly scribbled down his name and gave it back to her. Her gaze changed on him considerably. Not angry, or mean.
Just disappointed. Like he did something wrong. Like his existence was wrong. She never loved him, or liked him or even approved of him.
It's a contract.
That's all it will ever be. His gut twisted thinking about his replacement.
Well, at least he's quirkless.
