Work Text:
Wally was a strange little guy, wasn't he? He had a habit of staring, he disassociates often and he only eats when no one is looking.
Yet he was charming despite all his strange behaviors. You talked to him pretty often, you were a narrator at the studio. At first you found it pretty strange that the puppets were alive when you first entered the company but now you're strangely okay with it.
Wally was really curious about you. Everytime you would finish an episode together he would want to talk with you. The staff team weren't against it so usually you two would talk for hours. On the contrary, they were really positive about it. If the narrator got close with the puppets that would mean that they would grow more accustomed to them as well as more comfortable.
However, you did get a small warning. Well it was more or less them telling you to keep something in mind. That you shouldn't share too much about your world to the puppets. If they're too aware, it might stress them out. Or ruin their performance on the episodes. They told you to specifically share the least information with Wally. After all, the audience finds his innocence to be entertaining and charming. A special quirk to his personality.
...Which was hard not to do, especially when Wally was the one who wanted to talk to you the most. It's hard to withhold information from the guy as well. He's just so genuine, curious and sweet. You tend to feel bad about keeping information from him. Sometimes you let little pieces of info slip by your lips without you meaning to. Home liked to listen to you as you and Wally talked. He would chime in occasionally.
Apparently Frank taught the guy morse code, you wanted to learn as well. Frank was happy to help. So now you can understand Home too. Not that you really needed to since Wally would always translate for you.
All the neighbours and you had just finished another episode together. Julie wanted to get a few words with you before she went home. "Hello there, oh so wonderful narrator! My sweet flowers have missed you! They really really really wanna talk with you!"
You giggled, amused by her cheery demeanor. "Jewels, you don't have to call me wonderful or other sweet things like that, you can just call me Narrator." She pouted a little and put her hands on her hips. "But you are wonderful! And leaving it at Narrator feels super weird, you're not just a narrator, you're an amazing narrator!"
"You could call me something else?" Her hands lowered and later she tapped her chin in though before a bright smile drew itself over her mouth. "Why, that's a great idea, petunia!" You couldn't help but smile at the nickname. "Flowers? Of course, that's so you, jewels."
She waved her hands in the air. "No! Wait, I have more! Daffodil! Dahlia! Quince! And..." She paused for a moment as you looked at her from the camera. She looked like she was in deep thought before clasping her hands together.
"Neighbour!"
You tilted your head a little. "Neighbour hmm?" She nodded heavily. "I don't live where you guys live though.."
She gasped and then shook her head. "Neighbour! How could you say so?! You talk with us everyday, we meet so often! You're just gone at nighttime, just like how we are. You practically live here now!"
You couldn't help but kinda agree? She had a point, but you still don't really live there..
"You make a great point, Julie." You were silent for a moment before opening your mouth once more, thinking back on what she said about the flowers. "Do the flowers really miss me or are you just saying that Julie? Because I was just talking to them an hour ago." She nodded. "Yes, absolutely, indoebitably they tremendously do!" 'Indoebitably'? She's a silly girl.
"Oh, Wally was asking about you before! You might wanna talk with him later! He missed you so so much and was absolutely daffodily-tilisciously excited to talk with you when he heard that you were back!" Sometimes you wondered how the other neighbours could even tell how he felt. His tone was kinda of hard to differentiate between his other tones.
"Ooh daffodily-tilisciously? He must be super duper excited then." She shook her head. "No neighbour, absolutely daffodily-tilisciously!" You laughed a little. "Oh of course, how ignorant of me. Absolutely daffodily-tilisciously! Of course."
"Let's greet the flowers now! They have so much they wanna say!" You couldn't help but smile but did feel bad about leaving production for so long, making the little puppet miss you.
"Yes, we have been keeping them waiting for quite some time now. 60 minutes is a lot."
---
After you thanked the joyful girl you chimed in on Wally. He was gazing out the window. There was a flicker in his eyes for a second. His eyes widening before turning half-lidded once more.
"Hello Wally."
He stared right at the camera in Home. It creeped you out for a bit but then he turned his eyes away after 30 seconds. "Welcome Home. Neighbour." His usual placid smile seemed to be a little strained.
He was unusually quiet for a moment before he tapped lightly against the wall. "You have been gone for quite a. While."
"I know, I had to do some things."
"Tell. me." He seemed to demand. Home chimed in as well and disapprovingly banged his door, siding with the inhabitant. You raised a brow. "What do we say?" ...
"..Please. Please tell me, neighbour."
You paused to think for a while then decided there was no harm in telling. "I was on a trip, a vacation if you will. We were at the beach and ate lovely food. Savory, sweet, umami. I was there with my family."
Wally didn't say anything for a while. "..Oh."
...
"I'm sorry for yelling, neighbour, I don't know what came over me.." You couldn't help but be a little confused. "'Yell'? You barely raised your voice." He just sounded like he always does but slightly more frustrated. "Oh, I see."
"...neighbour, I heard you were back today and I was so excited. Home was excited too but also mad. I have a lot of stuff to tell you. But.."
"But?"
He seemed to pause, as if unsure. "I.. is it bad to want to be.. in your family's place instead of them? Is it bad that I wanted to leave Home to be with you?" Home banged his doors once more. The puppet shook his head. "No, of course not Home. I would never leave you. I love you."
You sighed and said. "Wally.. It's not bad to wish you were with someone. If I could, of course I would take you. But leaving the neighbourhood is very dangerous, you understand that right? You have to stay here." He nodded. "Yes, of course I do. I would never leave Home."
"Good."
He was quiet for a moment then fell to the floor. "Sometimes.. I wish that you lived here, with me and Home." Home makes approving sounds. Thinking it would be a lovely idea if you lived here.
"I can't."
"I.. know. Please, don't leave. It was so long. I counted the days. You.. were gone for 56 days. I was very worried."
Now you were the quiet one. You feel really bad now. "Wally.. I'll try. I can't promise anything though I need my breaks too." "Do you think it's.. tiring to be with me?" His eyes widened once more like they did before and stared at the camera again. It felt like he was staring at you. His pupils shook. A twitch from his body was noticeable as well. Hastily you assured him. "No no! I would never tire of you! Wally, you're nice to talk to. You're charming and an amazing artist and.. you're cute. You're a sweet guy."
His pupils got a little larger at the word 'cute' and the other compliments made more heat rush to his cheeks. But they disappeared after 3 seconds. "Then... Why leave?" You thought for a moment about how to explain this to him.
"You like spending time with your friends, right?"
His eyes turned back to normal. "Yes. I love spending time with my friends."
"I feel the same way, both about my friends and family. I love talking to them. But sometimes we don't always have the time. In fact, I spend more time with you and the others than I do them." He seemed to start to understand now. Although he seemed to still be a little frustrated. He was at least calming down though.
"I think.. I understand. But I do not think I can stop missing you."
"That's okay, as long as you understand that's all that matters."
His smile seemed less strained now more geniune eyelids lowered once more. Once again his cheeks flushed with a red hue. "O-oh.. neighbour? Did you mean all those nice things you said about me?" He seemed strangely bashful. "Every word." His eyelids raised and his pupils enlarged momentarily once more, it returned to normal once more.
"You.. neighbour.. you make my stomach spin and feel all warm inside. Do you feel the same way too?" He asked slightly breathless. You were still for a moment. "Please, tell me you do. I want you to feel nice like I do."
You didn't know what to do now. You didn't wanna hurt him. And to be honest you really liked him. Yet at the same time you knew this relationship wouldn't work.
As he sat there on the floor with a bated breath, you were silent. Eventually you gave in and answered.
"..Yes, Wally I do."
He was elated. His face darkening more, it felt like his stomach was twisting. He could barely speak for a moment. Whenever he would it seemed to be broken off by himself. He mustered up something after a few more seconds. "I think you're just the most, neighbour." You smiled.
"What is your name?" This seemed to peak Home's curiosity as well.
"I can't say."
"Why?"
"Goes against policies."
He paused and then lowered his head. "Is it those angry men?"
..???
"'Angry men'?" You asked, not knowing what he meant.
"The ones that yelled at you after you told me about restaurants and credit cards."
"..Oh! Yes." You must've forgotten to mute that time. "That doesn't sound very neighbourly."
You didn't say anything more about the 'angry men' and moved on. "Hey, I feel kinda bad about leaving you for so long.. how about.." You wanted to give him a gift anyway.
You shut off the volume on the camera recorders.
"What if, what?" He asked.
This was risky. "I was going to say, what if I came over to visit?" He seemed really happy for a moment until Home slammed the doors repetitively and turned the knob. His eyelids raised once more. "Oh no. That would be just awful. We are not allowed to be out at night and that is the only time you can come. We don't want anything to happen to you."
He's not wrong. This could potentially risk your job and your life. "It's safe for people like me."
...
He seemed frustrated. "Neighbour. I know. You are. Lying to me. Usually I. Do not say anything. But this time. I can't. Ignore it."
...
"You're right."
Wally calmed down.
You turned on the sound on the video recording again.
"So! You said you had a lot of things to tell me! I'm so curious what's been going on in the neighborhood while I was gone!"
He didn't seem as mad now, actually he looked more happy. "Yes. A lot. Barnaby and I, we went to Howdy's and then-"
---
You know this is bad but you can't help but feel the need to do this. That thing is going to be here. You kept your lantern close and would occasionally glance around. Branches would sometimes break and you could swear you saw shadows in the dark. Scurrying across the woods.
You needed to get there. Quick.
You turned your gaze down. Oh. A moth! Very cute. It was fuzzy and-
...
Crunch. It disappeared. It was here. It was nearby.
You bolted. Your lantern was long forgotten. You just ran with all you could, not looking back whatsoever your cloak flowed against the wind. You could see it! The neighborhood!
Yesyesyesyesyespleaseyouneedhelpyouneedhelpitscomingitscoming
You banged on the door repeatedly, banged on door. "HOME IT'S ME! Home pleasepleaseplease. I'msorryIdidn'tlistenitscoming its so close please please-" the wind was so strong you could hear it. It was so fast. Your heart was beating so fastsofast NONONOYOUCANTDIEHERE-
Home quickly swung the door and you fell inside. It closed right after, loudly. Your cheek was smushed against the floor and you groaned a little. You heard frantic footsteps. "Neighbour? Oh. Neigbour. I told you not to come." He put his hand on your cheek and lifted your head a little. The thumb of his hand would lightly stroke the skin beneath.
You opened your eyes and he seemed a little flustered. It disappeared right after though. "Wally..? Shouldn't you be sleeping?"
There was a moment of silence.
"I was, you weren't very quiet though and Home told me you would probably do something like this, so I slept with one eye open." He explained and brought you up on your feet. Your legs almost shook when they stood up. You were positively exhausted. When you looked at him you noticed he was wearing rainbow silk pajamas.
You took off your cloak and hanged it on the rack.
"'One eye open'? How do you even do that?" He tilted his head to the side a little. "You can't?" You slowly shook your head. "No???.. I can't.???" You had a raised tone at the end. Of course you couldn't. "Oh. Well I do it like this." He closes one eye and has the other eye wide open and then repeatedly says "I'm sleeping.". He.. starts to fall over a little. You start laughind and caught him in your arms. Even if you were out of breath right now. "Pfft- Wally???? Hello???" Both of his eyes opened when you caught him. "Oh, goodmorning neighbour. Do you understand how to do it now?"
???
"Good morning??? It's night??? What???" You couldn't help but laugh a little. He was a funny guy. "That is what you say when you wake up."
...
"I guess???"
He blushed a little when he saw your arms around him. He raised a hand over to hold your arm lightly.
"You are holding me, that's nice of you."
"You were falling!"
"Yes. I fell asleep. You can't stand when you are asleep."
He was really something.
You adjusted him to stand and held onto his hand, a little spooked about him suddenly falling like that but also amused. You didn't want him to hit himself though. He turned his gaze down then to you again after he had interlocked your fingers together.
"Do you understand how to do it now?"
You burst into laughter once more. Wally didn't understand why you were laughing. Maybe you were laughing because of how easy it was to understand? He laughed along anyway, even if he doesn't understand what's funny about learning things. "Ha. Ha. Ha."
Home is looking at him. Even though Home can't currently communicate, he thinks he knows what he wants. "Oh, I almost forgot." You stopped laughing, now curious. He looked at you pretty intensely. "I am very disappointed, narrator. That was very bad. Me and Home were very worried."
Wow. He didn't say the neigh word. That's when you know he's mad.
"I know. It was really bad. I think I've learned my lesson."
"Home said you were a rule-breaker. I think you are too."
The world "rule-breaker" sounded so childish and funny to use in this situation considering how serious you knew he was trying to be. Despite the need to laugh, you managed to keep it at bay.
"Yes. I am a bad rule-breaker. I apologize for my behavior."
"I forgive you. Do you want tea? Or.. coffee. I do not like it. But I know Eddie does." He starts walking into the kitchen and hesitantly lets go of your hand. His fingers flickered over it and grabbed a few times as it left. He used them to search in the cabinets instead. "You must be exhausted. Please sit, neighbour. The chairs are comfy. I know because I sit there."
"Wow, are they now?" You seat yourself down and request coffee. "Okay, I am not that good at making coffee though. I am trying my best to get better." You gave him a warm smile.
"No, I'm sure your coffee is great! It's okay Wally." He was fixing up a kettle. "It is brewing now." He sits down in front of you. "Are you feeling well?" "Significantly, thanks to you." "I am happy to help. The coffee might take a while to brew."
Wally stared at you. You looked back although way more awkwardly. You didn't exactly like being stared at.
"I feel like I should be angrier but.. neighbour is it bad that I am.. happy? You came all this way to see me. Seeing you in person is very rewarding, you look better in person. I used to only be able to see you from afar before." Afar? How could he possibly see you beyond a screen?
"What? How could you even see me?" Wally's eyes widened. "Oh. I was not supposed to say that."
...
"I don't want you to know. How. I. do not. like thinking back on how I. Got it. I'm sorry." He said, his voice was shaking slightly.
"That's okay. Friends don't need to share everything with each other."
Wally was quiet and nodded. Then when the kettle started to hiss he stood up and poured it into a mug. It was placed down on the table.
You barely took a sip. It was very hot. You decided to wait a little for it to cool down.
Wally was staring. It was like he couldn't get his eyes off you. "You like staring, huh?" He nodded. "I like to look at you the most. It is hard not to. Now that you are close, I want to look at you for as long as I can. You have never been close before."
You nod as if to say you understand even if you don't.
"Sometimes, I stare on accident. I don't always mean it or want to."
You attempted to take another sip. It wasn't warm anymore! However..
"Did I do a good job?"
It was terrible.
"Yes. It's amazing."
"You're lying."
"No! Watch."
You proceeded to drink it all in one gulp. You were barely able to keep the bile down your throat as you drank. A small bit of it leaked down the corner of your lips. Once it was empty you placed it down and had a huge strained grin on your throat. "Yum!" Did you just drink cowshit?
Wally stood up, as if genuinely curious and surprised of what you had done. He stood beside you. "Neighbour, you're so messy." He said slightly amused and wiped the droplet off with a finger. He stared at the drop very deeply. When you blinked the drop was gone. His face scrunched a little.
"Ha. Ha. Ha. That was not good." He made his way to the kettle and place a post-it note on it "to throw" it said.
"Why don't you just pour it down into the sink?"
"I don't think Home wants to drink this. It is very bad." He explained as if it was natural.
...
Home can.. drink??
"Oh of course not! How could I forget." How could you possibly have known that?
"We all forget sometimes."
"It wasn't bad though."
"Please stop lying."
He turned around to look at you. "It is getting late. We should go to bed now." He reached his hand out for you to grab it. You did and he was pleased, but then you thought to yourself. Weren't you forgetting something?
He started to walk yet... "Wait. There's something I'm forgetting." He did as you said and waited. "What is it?" "I'm thinking."
.
.
.
"RIGHT!" You pulled out a blue dog keycharm from your pocket. “It’s for you!” He stared at it for a few seconds and then slowly pulled it into his hand. “It reminds me of Barnaby, thought you would like it. It’s a keychain. I got it on my trip.” His eyes went up and met yours.
“This is the most! I’m going to tell Barnaby about this tomorrow.” It's a hit! He put it in his pajama pocket for now.
"We have to go to bed now, neighbour."
He says and starts walking out of the kitchen, slowly leading you to the bedroom.. wait hold up. The bedroom?!? You stop following after. His grip on your hand stops when you come to a halt. He turns around. "Why are you stopping?"
"We can't sleep in the same bed?? And also I have to go. I can't be caught here in the morning." Just when you were going to let go of him and leave. He tightened his grip on you. You still slipped past his grip. He was just a puppet after all. "Stay. Please. I. Don't want you to get hurt. It is dangerous."
"I have to, apple. I'm sorry. We'll meet each other tomorrow okay?" You explained as you grabbed your cloak and put your hand on the doorknob. It wouldn't budge. "Home? Can't you open the door." Home simply stared at you. He couldn't communicate right now. That would risk the door opening.
"Home will not let you go. We don't go out past bedtime."
You were quiet but decided you could leave another day.. or another hour. You hung your cloak on the rack again.
"Okay. I'll stay for the night."
"Promise?"
You paused then nodded. "I promise."
"Do you really promise?"
"I really really really promise."
You turned around to look at him again and made your way to him. "Do we both need to go to the bed though?" "We can go to the couch too. I am okay with everything, neighbour."
"Apple. That is not what I mean, do we have to sleep in the same place?" Wally paused and looked at you. "I want to sleep with you. You do not have to though." "Please never say sleep with me or anyone else again."
"Why not?" He asked, genuinely puzzled. "That does not mean what you think it means." "I do not understand but I will not say it if you do not want me to say it."
"Thank you."
"You are welcome. Do you want to sleep together now?" Not even a minute. "Wally. You said it again." "Oh. I forgot. Do you wanna sleep in the same bed together, neighbour?"
....
"Sure."
He held onto your hand once more. He thought it was nice. His hand was fuzzy and soft. Yep. He sure is a puppet. He opens the door to his bedroom and put the keycharm on the nightstand. "Are you not going to put that on your keychain?"
"I do not have a keychain or a key." You should've thought of this before. His home is sentient after all. "Are you going to get pajamas?" Home shut off the lights. Only the nightlamp was on.
"Wally, your clothes are too small for me."
He forgot about that too.
"That's okay. Barnaby never wears clothes when we sleep together. He barely has clothes." You give up. At least you know he means nothing bad about it.
"I am not taking my clothes off. I'll keep the shirt and pants on." He slowly let go of your hand and laid himself down on the bed. Looking at you expectantly with lowered eyelids.
For a moment you couldn't believe you were doing this. Then you slipped into the cozy comforts of the bed. It was very soft. This was nice honestly.
Nicer than you thought it would be. Your eyelids slowly lowered as you drifted off to.. sleep?
He had gripped your face in his hands. He snushed your cheeks. You kinda looked like a puffer fish when he was doing this to you.
"What are you doing?"
He didn't respond and stared at you, his thumbs stroked you and his fingers would occasionally shift.
"You are warm and squishy." "You're squishier." He shook his head. "Silly, silly. You are the most squishy." He said, his hand reached over your head. A second before he could do anything, you grabbed his wrist. Stopping him. His eyes visibly widened. You had a proud smirk on your face as you grabbed both his wrists and pinned him down on the bed. You sat on top of him. "I'm pretty sure you're squishier than me, silly." You victoriously teased.
Though only when you saw Wally's flustered face and dilated eyes do you realize what you were doing. It made your own face turn a shade darker. "Sorry, I wasn't thinking-" you frantically started speaking and started to make your way off him but to your surprise he stopped you and moved your hand back.
"I- I like how this feels. Can you keep touching me please." His breathing was getting awfully heavy. You were still. You didn't know what to do. This felt wrong.
You decided that you would not go further than just touching him.
Yeah, this is fine!! No one will know.
You slowly moved your hand up. Leaving the wrist and interlocking your fingers together like he did when he saw you. Your fingers shifted a little in between them. You applied a light pressure around the hand. His breath visibly hitched. You gulped. This all felt wrong. Yet it was so nice.
"N-neighbour... I.." his voice trembled. It was like he's never felt this way before. "You really are the most.." Was he in awe? You weren't doing much. You lowered you head a little more. Your other hand left his wrist and settled itself on his cheek. He looked like he was close to hyperventilating. Maybe he needed water-
All of a sudden your mouth was caught by his own. He made a "mwah" sound a second before the kiss. Okay. Now you were fuming. At first you wanted to back away. It was the right thing to do after all. Even so, you couldn't help but lean in. Your own eyelids lowered as you pressed against his mouth. He on the other hand stared heavily at you, pupils shaking while you kissed. You closed your eyes. It was for the best anyway.
You gripped a little bit more against his hand tilting it just slightly and pressing it lightly against the bed. He let out a small moan, hushed down by your lips. He trembled beneath you. It all felt so good and he was so eager. So eager.
Your hand on his cheek moved to tilt his head slightly up. He arched his back slightly then faltered. Your touch made him even more excited. His tongue swiped against yours. Your lips parted and rolled your tongue against his. He mewled from it.
You slowly pulled away and he panted heavily. Small whines left him. "MmhhMore.. more. Need- mh.. m-more." His voice was slurred and his wide eyes stare had turned into a half-lidded mess. He desperately crashed his mouth onto yours again. It was sloppy and wet. Drool dropped from his chin when you parted from him.
"E-ever since we met I- knew you were the most.." he mustered with a shaky voice. Occasionally he would press kisses over your neck. Doing anything to have contact with you. His mouth would sometimes drag against you.
"Neighbour, it is hard not to dream and t-think about you when you are.. you are.."
"Nice, pretty and.. the mh-most-soothing voice. You make me feel.. so w-warm." He panted and gripped your hand tightly. "I know what you mean."
"Don't ever stop touching me." He suddenly demanded. "I do not know what to do.. with.. myself otherwise."
You drew your hand from the fingers over to the shoulder. Slowly tracing sliding under the sleeves. He was.. overjoyed. "I love you.. very much."
"Apple. I love you too."
He only trembled even more, his hips and legs shaking a little. "I- ineedyourhelp."
"Hmm? With what?"
Wally paused and so did your movement, much to his disappointment. "No one has ever made m-me.. feel this way. Not like you do."
"..you make me feel warm. Dizzy, touchy and my stomach starts twisting. It's so big. And it feels good. But so overwhelming.. I wanna be as close as possible neighbour. I think.. to fix it I need to be as close to you as I.. can be."
Wally couldn't be...
You couldn't do that.
"Wally, I'm not sure if that will work. You're feeling something you're not supposed to feel. You don't have the parts to relieve yourself."
"Why..?" "You weren't made to feel like this."
You look him over. He was still quivering. "But.. then why do I.. feel like this?" You looked around the room for a moment. You honestly had no idea how. "I don't know."
"Oh. I did not know you could not.. know. You are always very smart and knowledgeable." Cute of him to say but you were not THAT smart. "There's a lot of things I don't know, Wally. Just like you."
For one, that thing that chased you, in the woods. You know it exists just not what it is yet..
"When I kissed you, did the feeling in your stomach loosen?" The puppet shook his head. "No, it got stronger. I felt like I was dreaming. I never thought I would be able to kiss you. When I would watch Sally's place, I always imagined that we were the prince and princess. I thought it was nice back then, but this is more than I could ever imagine."
You lightly smiled at him. "I think you would make for a beautiful princess." The slight shift in his voice made him sound almost shy. "O-oh.. Thank you. I would want to be one, for you."
As much as you would like that, it couldn’t happen. "Apple, we can't be together." He gripped on to you a little tighter. "I want to." You took a heavy breath, unsure of how to explain it to him. "Me too, but if the angry men found out I was.. together with you they would get mad. Really mad. They might take me away from you forever." Or worse.
He rose up immediately, the sudden movement surprised you and made your hands leave him. He stared at you for a moment and then just inched closer to you, leaning slightly against you and gripped at the fabric of your shirt tightly.
"I don’t want you to go." His hands were shaking as he held onto you, his pupils shook. You took his body in your arms and drew your fingers gently over his back. His hands stopped shaking and his grip loosened. He didn’t seem to know what to do at first. It took a few seconds before he embraced you. His fingers occasionally twitch against your back.
"I won't go. I'll get to stay if we follow the rules." He begrudgingly nodded. "Just for tonight though, Wally, we can be together. It’s a special occasion." He tensed down.
Wally still felt warm.. your hug made him feel even hotter. It was starting to become a little too much.
When you let go, his hands went up to work on his pajamas. The silk steadily gets removed from his body. Your eyes visibly went wide. "WOAH WOAH, why are you taking off your clothes!???"
"It’s warm." He simply answered. The fabrics fell onto the bed and he got off the bed to hang them on his hangers. "Are you not warm?" He asked as he sat himself down on the bed again.
You looked down at your body. You were a little warm.. after running and.. kissing him you did feel a little warm. The bed amplified it as well. "A little." Should you take off your clothes? He didn’t seem to care anyway or know the significance of it.
You paused for moment before saying 'hey why the fuck not' in your head. You pulled the shirt off from underneath and put it messily on the other nightstand. Wally's eyes couldn’t help but follow your hands as you took off your garments. He was still for a moment untill he slowly opened his mouth. "You are.. very beautiful." It brought a little heat to your cheeks.
"Thank you, you too."
Wally moved over to your clothes and took him in his hands. He started to fold them. "You have to fold them, neighbour."
You watched him as he did and apologized. "Sorry, I forgot." You were used to just putting them anywhere and letting them lie there however they landed.. "That's okay. Your clothes smell nice. I don’t mind folding them for you."
That was a weird comment. Anyway, the release of the clothes genuinely made you feel so much better. It felt less restrictive.
Once he finished, he turned off the night lamp. Leaving only his eyes visible. He scooched a little closer to you in the bed as he laid down. You could tell he was staring at you. You looked at him back.
"I want to.. touch you."
His hand started to move to your chest. "You can." The hand placed itself on the middle. He pressed a little. Eyes widening a bit from the texture. The hand was still for a few moments before it began moving. It made its way up. Drifting over your collarbone and reaching your throat. He shifted his digits over it. He felt the way it slightly moved as you breathed.
"Your body feels so alive." You quirked a brow, slightly amused. "I guess that's a word for it. It is a colony of multiple organisms working together after all." There was a noticeable silence between you two for a while. "I don’t understand what that means, but I think it sounds lovely. You are always.. moving. Even when you are still."
His palm moved away from your neck to touch your armpit. "Why do you have so much hair here? It is fluffy." You shrugged. "It’s to keep any dangerous particles away. So it gets caught by the hairs instead." "Why don't you have hair all over your body then?" He asked as he rubbed against it.
"We do." "Not as much as you have here."
You nodded. This time you didn't know what to say. "You have a silly body." His head lowered to your chest and he pressed his lips against the skin. It sent a fuzzy feeling in your body.
"I want to cherish you forever." He mumbled as he trails kisses over your collarbone to your throat and gently smushed his mouth and nipped at the area. Your breath hitched and you tilted your head a little to the side while your hand rested over his hip.
He stopped for a moment and pressed the side of his face against your chest. His cheek slightly squished against it. "There is a sound coming from here."
"It’s my heart beat."
He drummed his fingers along your skin, following the pace of your heart. "This is very nice. I like your heart beat." He stayed there for a while. Just listening. "It is fast."
His eyes turned down and he left your chest. His hand went below your stomach and touched the fabric that covered your groin. Which made you twitch. "What is this for? These are some awfully small shorts." He asked and inched a finger under it- you quickly stopped him from moving any further with a hand on his wrist. Wally's eyes met yours. "Did.. I do something wrong?"
"You can't go any further there, okay? They're for protection." He kept his gaze on you. "I won't hurt you." "You don't understand. You will not go further. Say yes." It's true, he doesn't understand but he can tell you don't want him to press anymore on the subject
"Yes."
You let go of him. He resumed his exploration. He skipped over the crotch area and landed on your thighs. He squeezed lightly at them. "It is squishier than your other parts." You nodded and moved your hand against his waist. Giving him a light squeeze. "..That feels good.. I l-like it when you touch me." He sounded happy.
As Wally felt your body, he couldn't help but get more curious.. "I want to taste you, neighbour. Everywhere." Before you could say anything he leaned in and stuck a tongue out to drag from your collarbone up to your chin.
....
"Did you just lick me." "Yes, you taste nice."
...
Home started rumbling.
"Oh.. Home is saying it's past our bedtime. We have to sleep."
You don't know if you were thankful or disappointed.
"Then lets go to sleep." You said as you brought his body closer against yours with your arms holding him against you. You shut your eyes.
"Wait! I want to tell you, about.. my eyes." Now you were curious. You held one eye open.
He was quiet for quite some while before he started to speak again.
"It was dark. I was looking for my brush. When.."
He got quiet, he lowered his eyes for a moment. Eventually they would drift back over to you.
"It. Came. It touched me. Only for a moment. My eyes were never the same. It made me see.. more than I could imagine."
He gripped at you tightly. "..Wally.. I..-"
"Tell me your name. I told you. About. My eyes. Now you tell me your name."
..Seconds passed by. Your name? You withheld it for so long because you didn’t want him to get too close.. but now it seems kinda pointless.
"My name is.."
He stared at you patiently.
"Is.."
.
.
.
"That is just the most! I like your name very much."
"I love you very much,
.
.
.
. "
