Work Text:
Mira and Abby are having playful disagreements over where should they have their joint bachelorette and bachelor party together. Zoey has been prepared for this moment and acts like a judge until the couple agree.
The penthouse dining table had officially transformed into complete chaos.
Travel brochures covered nearly every inch of the surface, along with half finished drinks, notebooks, wedding planning binders, and Zoey’s handmade sign that read:
OFFICIAL PARTY COURT SESSION
Nobody had asked why she made the sign.
At this point, everyone was too tired to question her creativity.
Mira sat at one side of the table with her arms crossed while Abby sat directly across from her looking equally stubborn. Both of them had spent the last forty minutes debating where their joint bachelor and bachelorette celebration should happen, and somehow the conversation had only become more dramatic with time.
“I still don’t understand why you’re against camping,” Abby complained.
Mira stared at him in disbelief. “Because nature hates me.”
“That’s dramatic.”
“A mosquito once followed me for three days.”
“That mosquito was in love with you.”
“I’m serious.”
Abby grinned shamelessly. “You’d look cute in hiking boots.”
Mira looked deeply offended. “That’s not a real argument.”
“It absolutely is.”
Zoey suddenly smacked a wooden spoon against the table loudly.
“ORDER IN THE COURT.”
Baby physically flinched. “Why do you have a spoon?”
“I’m the judge.”
“You made yourself the judge.”
“That’s how power works.”
Mystery sat beside Zoey watching her with complete fascination while she adjusted a pair of fake glasses she absolutely did not need.
Rumi leaned closer toward Jinu from where they sat together on the couch nearby.
“She’s been waiting her whole life for this moment,” Rumi whispered.
Jinu nodded solemnly. “She was born for fake authority.”
Zoey pointed dramatically toward Abby.
“State your case.”
Abby leaned back confidently in his chair.
“Camping builds character.”
Mira immediately pointed accusingly. “See? That sentence alone proves my point.”
Abby ignored her.
“We could rent cabins,” he continued. “Bonfires. Stargazing. Hiking.”
Mira looked horrified after every word.
“You lost me at hiking.”
“You don’t even have to hike far.”
“I don’t want to hike near.”
Romance laughed loudly from the kitchen island where he was eating snacks completely unhelpfully.
“I’m with Mira. Forests feel haunted.”
“You’re a demon,” Abby reminded him.
“That’s exactly why I know haunted things.”
Baby groaned dramatically from his seat on the floor.
“Why are both your ideas outside?”
Everyone looked at him.
Baby pointed around the room in frustration.
“Camping is outdoors. Tropical islands are outdoors. Why can’t we celebrate inside a luxury hotel like civilized people?”
“Because beaches are romantic,” Mira replied immediately.
Abby smiled at her. “You’d look beautiful on a beach.”
Mira visibly malfunctioned for half a second before recovering.
“That’s not the point.”
“That sounded flustered,” Zoey announced proudly while scribbling fake notes.
“Judge Zoey,” Mira complained, “you’re supposed to be unbiased.”
“I’m impossible to bribe.”
Mystery leaned closer toward her quietly. “What if I bought you fries?”
Zoey immediately lowered the spoon. “Court can be influenced.”
Jinu snorted softly while Rumi laughed against his shoulder.
“You’re all useless,” Mira muttered.
Abby looked entirely too pleased with himself while casually reaching over to play with Mira’s fingers.
“You’d survive camping,” he teased softly.
“I absolutely would not.”
“I’d protect you from nature.”
“You are nature.”
“That’s romantic.”
“That’s concerning.”
Abby leaned closer with a grin. “You still love me.”
Mira rolled her eyes though she smiled instantly anyway.
“That’s unfortunately true.”
Baby gagged dramatically into a throw pillow.
“Disgusting.”
Meanwhile Rumi sat curled comfortably beside Jinu while Hana slept peacefully against her chest wrapped in a tiny blanket. Every once in a while Jinu glanced down at Hana with complete softness before looking back toward Rumi.
“You’re thinking too hard,” he murmured quietly.
Rumi blinked. “What?”
“You have your worried mom face.”
Rumi looked down at Hana instinctively.
“I’m thinking about the trip.”
Jinu brushed his fingers lightly along her arm comfortingly. “What about it?”
“Should Hana stay with Celine?” Rumi asked softly. “Or should we bring her?”
Jinu’s expression softened immediately.
“You want to bring her.”
Rumi sighed quietly. “I always want to bring her.”
“You’re allowed to miss her.”
“I know but what if she gets overwhelmed traveling?”
Jinu smiled gently before leaning over to kiss her forehead.
“She’ll be okay.”
“You always say that.”
“Because it’s usually true.”
Rumi relaxed slightly against him while he continued rubbing soothing circles against her side.
“You know,” he murmured teasingly, “you survived fighting demons but motherhood scares you.”
“Demons don’t need diaper bags.”
“That’s fair.”
Rumi laughed softly before kissing him briefly.
Across the room, Zoey suddenly slammed the spoon against the table again.
“Final arguments.”
Abby sat upright immediately.
“Camping gives us memories.”
Mira narrowed her eyes. “Heatstroke also gives memories.”
“We could roast marshmallows together.”
“We can roast marshmallows indoors.”
“We could cuddle under blankets while looking at stars.”
Mira hesitated visibly.
Abby noticed immediately.
“Oh,” he said smugly. “That one almost worked.”
Mira crossed her arms tighter. “No it didn’t.”
“You imagined it.”
“I did not.”
“You absolutely did,” Zoey interrupted.
Mystery looked entirely distracted by Zoey pretending to be serious.
“You’re really enjoying this,” he murmured softly to her.
Zoey adjusted the fake glasses dramatically. “Justice never rests.”
“You’re cute.”
Zoey froze for half a second before quickly pretending to write more fake notes.
“I remain professional.”
Mystery smiled knowingly.
Romance pointed at them. “There’s another disgusting couple.”
“You’re literally dating someone too,” Baby complained.
“Yes but I’m not emotionally stable enough to discuss it.”
Then Mira suddenly pointed dramatically toward Abby.
“And tropical islands are romantic too.”
Abby tilted his head. “Explain.”
“Warm weather. Ocean views. Fancy resorts.”
“You just want fruity drinks.”
“That’s part of the luxury.”
Abby laughed softly.
“You’d still complain about sand.”
“I absolutely would.”
“You hate touching grass.”
“It’s itchy.”
“That’s not how grass works.”
Mira gasped dramatically. “You’re supposed to support me.”
“I support you being beautiful indoors.”
“That was smooth,” Rumi admitted quietly.
Jinu nodded. “He’s learning.”
Abby looked proud of himself right up until Mira leaned over and kissed him unexpectedly.
The kiss started soft but immediately lingered longer once Abby wrapped a hand around her waist.
Baby covered his eyes dramatically.
“WHY.”
Zoey banged the spoon again. “NO KISSING DURING COURT.”
Mira pulled away smiling while Abby looked entirely pleased with life.
“You distracted me on purpose,” Mira accused softly.
“You’re easy to distract.”
“That’s because I’m in love with you.”
The entire room collectively groaned.
Romance physically stood up. “I need air.”
“You’re indoors,” Baby shouted after him.
Finally, after another ten minutes of arguing, dramatic fake court rulings, and absolutely no progress whatsoever, Jinu sighed softly and stood up.
Everyone immediately looked at him.
Jinu looked exhausted already.
“Okay,” he said calmly. “I have a solution.”
Mira blinked. “You do?”
“Yes.”
Abby leaned back curiously. “This should be interesting.”
Jinu gestured toward both of them.
“Split the trip.”
Silence.
Then slowly, realization hit.
Rumi immediately brightened. “Wait.”
Jinu nodded.
“Start at a luxury tropical resort for Mira,” he explained. “Then finish with a private cabin area nearby for Abby.”
Mira looked thoughtful.
Abby looked impressed.
“You get beaches,” Jinu continued toward Mira. “He gets bonfires and stargazing.”
“And there are indoor cabins,” Rumi added excitedly.
Mira looked at Abby slowly.
Abby smiled immediately.
“That actually sounds perfect.”
Mira nodded. “Okay wait. That’s actually really good.”
Zoey pointed dramatically at Jinu. “The court acknowledges genius.”
Baby looked relieved. “So there are buildings involved?”
“Yes,” Jinu confirmed.
“Finally.”
Abby immediately pulled Mira closer by the waist once they agreed.
“You know,” he murmured softly, “we really are getting married.”
Mira smiled helplessly. “You sound surprised every time.”
“I just really like saying fiancée.”
“You’re obsessed with me.”
“That’s never changing.”
Then Abby kissed her again, slower this time, while Mira smiled against his lips.
Baby made a noise of complete disgust.
“They’re worse than Rumi and Jinu now.”
“That’s impossible,” Zoey replied.
Rumi looked offended while Jinu grinned.
“We’re iconic.”
“You’re unbearable,” Baby corrected.
Meanwhile Hana yawned sleepily against Rumi’s chest entirely unaware that she was surrounded by chaos, romance, fake courtroom proceedings, and way too many couples in love.
