Chapter Text
For as long as you could remember, the world had always felt slightly wrong.
The first ever curse you saw was when you were fifteen.
You never spoke about that night ever since the day the curse had brutally killed your family.
You ran away and never came back.
Since then, you had been living with your grandparents. But you had never stopped seeing those inhuman monsters. You simply chose to ignore them. What you didn't know was that you possessed an extravagant amount of cursed energy.
Age 20
You have left your grandparents' house and are living alone. Since you didn't pursue your studies after the incident, you have taken a job as a cashier at one of Tokyo's main supermarkets.
One day, a certain peculiar man walked into the store.
Tall.
White hair.
Dressed fully in black, with dark blue sunglasses resting lazily over his eyes like a celebrity.
"Well, well. That's certainly a lot of cursed energy for a petty cashier like you."
Your hands froze.
Huh?
"I've finally found you."
"Excuse me, sir? Can I help you?" you ask carefully, your fingers tightening around the scanner.
"Oh, it's nothing. Never mind," he replies.
You internally exhale, noticing that you've been holding your breath the entire time. The peculiar man walks around like nothing ever happened, picking out random snacks—not that you care.
That's when you sense it.
That familiar, unsettling feeling crawls beneath your skin—the same feeling that always came before the creatures appeared.
Before you know it, memories of your family come flashing back.
You try to ignore it.
Your breathing gets shaky, and your hands grip tighter around the scanner.
As usual, it hesitates.
It looks at you.
Stares at you.
You can sense the fear in its eyes.
Then suddenly,
it backs away.
Terrified.
Before disappearing into the shadows completely.
You start breathing normally again.
This doesn't go unnoticed by Gojo, though. He approaches you.
"You can see them, can't you?"
Your stomach drops.
Because for the first time in years—
someone else could see them too.
