The red string of fate. A string that connects two hearts, soulmate for eternity.
For humans, it was a myth. But not for the other creatures. Especially for species that live for a long time, finding their soulmates is their purpose of life. To be together with their love of their life… forever and ever.
They will do anything to find the end of the string and won't let it go no matter what once they've found it.

In a dimmed office room, a handsome man lightly played with the glowing red string that emerged from his heart. For years he had searched for his soulmate. And tonight, he would finally have him in his arms. He just needed to be patient for a little bit longer so the plan would succeed without any problem.
Never had he thought before that his soulmate was a different species.
A few days earlier, he felt his red string stirred for the very first time when doing his survey for the upcoming black market auction. With his disguise, he stealthy moved following the magical string to the depth of the warehouse.
As a vampire, the darkness couldn't stop him from seeing everything clearly. And there among the various precious things, a lone big fish tank stood. Inside it, the red string finally connected to the other end.
The most beautiful creature he'd ever seen lay on the cold tank floor, tied with ropes to restraint creatures. A beautiful merman with hair and scales black as night, like an obsidian.
For the first time in his long lifetime, Kishiar La Orr had fallen in love at first sight.
As much as he wanted to free his fated mate at that very moment, he needed to retreat and gather his men. The proper punishment must be done to those who had hurt his soulmate.
“My Lord… all units are ready.”
The voice of his loyal werewolf adjutant from the shadows made him smile. Finally… it's time…

“And for the next item… the rare merman of the deep sea! Take a look at this wonderful specimen!”
Various humans with expensive clothes and dresses gasped and murmured at themselves when the water tank was brought on the stage. Although the said creature just curled himself on the bottom of the tank, they couldn't take their eyes from him.
“Aside from being a luxurious pet, the scales are said to be a potent medicine and the pearls from the tears are black as midnight. Truly a great creature you don't want to miss!”
The greedy humans were grinning and they started to raise their paddles as the auction started, completely ignoring the suspicious shadows that were growing larger.
As the auction was getting intense, a handsome golden haired man with an expensive white suit suddenly appeared out of nowhere on the stage, smiling eerily at the host.
“W-W-W-Wha- W-Who are you?!”
With a snap of his fingers, screams of horror erupted in the room with sickening crunches and gargling sounds. The whole audience was killed without any mercy. The host tried to run but stopped after his head rolled down into the floor, his blood splattered on glass of the tank.
The merman stared in shock at the gruesome scene before him as the mysterious gorgeous man retrieved his long claws. His glowing crimson eyes met his violet hue dark eyes and it felt forever that they locked their eyes into each other.
After a while, the merman finally noticed the glowing red string that connected both of their hearts and felt a shiver on his spine when the vampire slowly approached the water tank.
“Pleasure to meet you, my dear soulmate. My name is Kishiar La Orr. I'm here to save you.”

It had been almost a year since the vampire saved his life. Yuder, the merman, had lived in luxury under the mafia boss’ protection.
Kishiar had pampered him beyond imagination. He tried to woo his soulmate very hard. He showered the merman with everything. From material things that Yuder didn't care about, to affectionate gestures that would make anyone jealous.
At first, Yuder was wary of him. He looked scary and suspicious, from being a vampire and a mafia boss who could kill anyone without a second thought. But after seeing the smitten vampire for a while, those walls slowly melted away.
Kishiar was kind and gentle to Yuder, respecting his wishes and boundaries. Sometimes he looked more like a golden retriever rather than a blood sucking monster. And unconsciously, Yuder had fallen in love with his soulmate.
“Yuder?”
Kishiar looked at him with worried eyes when Yuder stared at him for too long from the swimming pool at the vampire's penthouse.
Without any warning, the merman grabbed the white expensive suit and dragged his surprised mate into the water. Before Kishiar could recover from the shock, a pair of soft lips met his for a passionate kiss.
With Yuder's power, the couple could keep sharing their love underwater. Their red string was glowing brighter as their feelings got stronger than ever.
“I love you.”
Yuder smiled as his confession made the vampire speechless and blushing like a maiden. It felt good and the merman couldn't resist kissing the most beautiful vampire again and again.
They had a long time to enjoy their love… for eternity even if time allowed.
