Bokuto slammed open their apartment door, shouting happily. "Keijiiii!!" He smiled. "I'm home!" Usually, he would hear Akaashi's soft voice speaking from the living room or kitchen. It was always a greeting and a reminder to wash his hands since he had been at the gym. But today, he heard nothing. He frowned and carefully set his gym bag onto the floor by the door. "Keijii?" He sang out as he kicked his shoes off and walked into the apartment.
He saw a fluffy lump on their couch and he smiled softly. He sat next to the lump and gently pulled the blanket down to peek inside. "Keiji?" He repeated quietly. He saw a tuft of black hair and dark green eyes peeking out. Bokuto paused. Akaashi looked small. Not physically, maybe just a little with the way he was curled up under the blanket, but emotionally. His eyes were hazy and he could see him fiddling with his fingers under the blanket.
"Hey buddy..." Bokuto whispered and smiled at the regressed man. "Are you little?" After a moment, Akaashi nodded and Bokuto's heart squeezed. He didn't regress often but when he did, he was quiet and clingy. He would hover by Bokuto, holding onto his sleeve and very rarely speak. He could tell that tonight his regression hit him like a truck. "Are you okay?" He brushed some hair out of his eyes. After a few quiet seconds, he nodded again. "Bo..." He whispered. That tiny voice nearly killed him.
"Hi," he said as he gave the other man a warm smile. "C’mere." Akaashi wrapped the blanket around himself and crawled into Bokuto's lap, basically melting into Bokuto the second his arms wrapped around him. Bokuto started gently rocking him back and forth. He pressed a kiss to the crown of the black haired boys head. "Awh, you really needed hugs, huh?" Akaashi buried his face into Bokuto’s shoulder and gripped onto Bokuto's gray shirt.
Normally, Akaashi would be embarrassed about being this emotional and clingy, even if he was regressed, but today he didn't care. He simply pressed himself into Bokuto's chest, holding him like he was afraid he would disappear.
Bokuto talked quietly as he rubbed Akaashi's back. "Did you eat today?" He asked. Akaashi silently responded by shaking his head. "Okay." Bokuto stood up, keeping Akaashi on his hip. "Let's go." Akaashi let out a little hum and buried his face into the crook of Bokuto's neck. He was so cute, Bokuto thought he would explode.
Bokuto carried Akaashi into the kitchen, carefully bouncing him occasionally. He balanced Akaashi on his hip with one hand as he sorted through the fridge with the other one. "What do you wanna eat?" He asked. "We have curry and rice, pudding, apples, st-" Akaashi cut him off with a small, shaky voice. "No down." He whined. Bokuto blinked slowly and Akaashi hid his head again, like he regretted saying it. "You don't wanna be put down?" Bokuto asked. Akaashi quickly shook his head. Bokuto nodded. "I won't." He agreed instantly.
He got the containers of rice and curry out of the fridge. The preparation was a mess. Rice spilled, curry sauce got on the counter and he nearly dropped a bowl but every time he adjusted his grip, Akaashi tensed up a bit. So he held onto him tighter.
After he pulled the bowl out of the microwave and mixed it, Bokuto joked. "Voila!" He grinned. "Michelin star chef Bokuto Kotarou strikes again!" Akaashi let out a small huff that sounded quite like a laugh. He carefully carried both Akaashi and the dinner to the living room couch. Akaashi was still curled against Bokuto's chest. Bokuto carefully spoon fed him. "Are you sure you don't wanna sit next to me?" He smiled at him. Akaashi shook his head. "No!" He whined and tucked himself closer to Bokuto's chest.
Bokuto laughed and stroked his hair to calm him down. "Alright, I'm not putting you down." He smiled. He fed Akaashi slowly as he also ate and when they were done dinner, Akaashi was exhausted. By the time Bokuto put the dishes in the sink, he was barely able to keep his eyes open.
"Is it bedtime?" He whispered. Akaashi nodded quietly. He carried Akaashi to their shared bedroom but the second Bokuto tried to pull away to turn off the light, Akaashi grabbed his wrist with surprising strength. "No..." He mumbled. Bokuto paused and saw dark green eyes staring up at him, clearly anxious. Akaashi swallowed his saliva. "Don't go..." Bokuto's heart melted. "No, sweetheart, don't worry. I'm just getting the light, I promise."
Akaashi hesitated before reluctantly loosening his grip. Bokuto turned the overhead light off and quickly ran back to the bed. "There. See?" Bokuto climbed fully into bed and pulled the blankets over both of them. He opened his arms and Akaashi immediately curled against his chest. Bokuto's arms tightened around him and Akaashi quickly fell asleep.
"Aww, sleepy baby." He cooed to himself. Even asleep, Akaashi scooched closer to him. He didn't mind at all.
