Chapter Text
The sun rose over the Voca-kingdom, its rays seeping through every curtain, waking up the people, signaling the start of a new day. Princess Miku was no exception, the sun’s blinding glare landing directly on her sleeping eyes through the castle’s window. She groaned, stirring around her bed, unwilling to get up just yet. She knew what awaited her behind that bedroom door, silently dreading it.
The life of being a princess for an overpopulated kingdom was exhausting. Brunch with random princes she had never met before, nor did she have any intention of wanting to. Lunch was usually spent sitting next to her father like a trophy to be earned during his important meetings. She could feel the eyes of the other leaders roaming over her like eye candy. She didn’t even want to know what their train of thought was. Only after that entire ordeal was she allowed to eat, only to be snatched to attend “elegance” classes right after. Because as her father says: “A future Queen must always strive for elegance!” At night she commonly has tiring conversations with him about the princes she had met in the morning.
“What about the second one? He seemed quite handsome.” he always questioned her.
“No, I didn’t like him.” she responded.
“Oh but come on Miku!” he sighed, fingers running through his thinning hair. “Hurry up and make a pick though. I’m running out of princes willing to come over here.” he continued in a serious manner.
Ugh. Why couldn’t he understand her lack of interest for princes? She never felt the so-called “butterflies in her stomach” or her cheeks “burning up” she had read about in many books.
So yeah, that was how the days went by. She didn’t want to get up and do all that again, sue her!
Her thoughts were interrupted by a gentle knock on the door.
“Ms Hatsune, you must wake up now! The king is looking for you.”
It was MEIKO, one of the many maids. She really liked how she treated her with kindness, more “normally” than the others.
“Yeah MEIKO.” she paused to yawn. “Getting up now.”
She sighed, stretching to remove the sleepiness out of her, before starting to prepare for her day. A day that will be just like all the others. Monotonous. Repeating.
…
“Sekai Gods above, please give me strength.” she mumbled while styling her hair. “Break this horrible, lifesucking loop I’m trapped in.”

Meanwhile, in the neighboring kingdom, the UTAU-dom, the people had already woken up. Sure, their population wasn’t as large, but they still managed to fill it up with life, buzzing with children’s voices and merchants arriving at the docks.
Teto leaned her head against her window, listening to the kingdom coming alive in these early hours. Just like it always has been. Normalcy and consistency were greatly valued in her day to day life. Adachi Rei, her childhood friend, always asks her why she doesn’t find that boring, but she always replies that she just doesn’t feel that way. Something about knowing that her schedule won’t change and the next day will be the same has always been comforting to her.
Their thoughts were interrupted by two sharp knocks on the door.
“Tetooo!! Come on, get your ass up, we’re going to be late for training!!” yelled Rei.
Oh rats.
How long was she looking through that window??
“Uh.. I-I’ll just be a second!” they exclaimed back, scrambling to put on her brown, leather attire, as usual.
“Ugh Teto hurry up! I’m blaming you if we get yelled at for being late.” Rei said, pounding at the door once again.
“Yes, just give a minute!” they exclaimed, tying their red hair in high, wavy pigtails and running out the door.
“Took you long enough.” sighed the orange haired girl.
“Yeah yeah you can mock me all you want AFTER we get to the castle.” grunted Teto.
Fortunately for the two sorcerers, Teto’s house was 3 minutes away from the castle, so they weren’t tragically late.
Teto went on to her ‘Fighting With Magic: Advanced’ class while Rei attended her “Healing With Spells: 101’
Both their days went on as usual. They ate their lunches, they practiced their skills, just like the days before. That made Teto beam with joy.
They were walking back to their houses now. The sun had set, indicating that a long, tiring day had finally come to an end.
“Seriously, I just don’t get you sometimes.” Rei mumbled. “You can be weird at times with your whole daily consistency thing, but if it makes you happy, who am I to judge?”
Teto laughed. “Yeah, I’m glad things are this way. I hope they dont change anytime soon.”
They reached Teto’s home shortly after. They waved goodbye to Rei before getting in and preparing to get some well deserved rest.

Yet another day had ended for Miku, or as she called it, the loop was resetting. She was exhausted, the day having gone by exactly as she had predicted. She took a deep breath before placing her head under her pillow, in a way that if MEIKO were to walk in, she’d easily think she were dead.
…
This… Monotony… Rotting her from the inside out…
…
Maybe she’d be better off dead.

Teto layed in her bed, thinking of how fun the day had been.
With heavy eyelids she said:
Sekai Gods, I’m happy. Please make every day just like the last one.

Sekai Gods, I’m miserable. Please do something to break this.. Curse.
Miku thought to herself, before drifting off to Morpheus’ soft embrace, coincidentally at the same time with another girl from the neighboring kingdom..
