Work Text:

Zoey uses the Key Mystery gave her to rearrange his entire apartment with out him knowing.

The streets of Seoul shimmered beneath the glow of evening lights as Abby walked slowly beside Mira, their fingers intertwined comfortably while the cool night breeze brushed through her pink hair. The botanical garden venue still lingered in Mira’s mind like a dream she had not fully woken up from yet. Every detail had been impossibly beautiful, from the hanging lanterns woven through ivy covered archways to the glass greenhouse ceiling that reflected the stars above them. Even now she could still smell the flowers.

Abby glanced sideways at her with a small smile.

“You’ve been quiet for three minutes.”

Mira looked at him suspiciously. “That’s your limit?”

“You usually insult me at least twice by now.”

“That’s because you deserve it.”

“There she is.”

Mira tried not to smile but failed instantly.

Abby looked entirely too pleased with himself as he squeezed her hand gently while they continued walking toward the apartment building. The closer they got to home, the softer Mira’s expression became again.

“I still can’t believe you booked that venue,” she admitted quietly.

Abby shrugged casually though his ears turned slightly pink.

“You said you liked botanical gardens.”

“Liked?” Mira repeated. “Abby, that place looked magical.”

“You deserve magical.”

Mira stopped walking for a second just to stare at him.

“You’re being romantic on purpose.”

“I’m always romantic.”

“You once proposed to me with flower petals stuck in your hair.”

“You still said yes.”

“That’s because I’m in love with you unfortunately.”

Abby laughed softly before pulling her gently closer by the waist. Mira melted against him automatically while he leaned down enough for their foreheads to touch.

“You really liked it?” he asked softly.

Mira’s expression softened completely.

“I loved it.”

The answer clearly relieved him more than he wanted to admit.

Mira noticed immediately.

“You were nervous,” she realized.

“No.”

“You absolutely were.”

“Maybe a little.”

Mira smiled warmly before kissing him softly.

The kiss was sweet at first, slow and familiar, the kind of kiss that came naturally after spending so much time together. Abby’s hand rested comfortably against her waist while Mira curled her fingers into the front of his jacket.

When they finally pulled apart, Abby looked at her quietly for a moment before speaking again.

“Are you nervous?”

Mira blinked. “About what?”

“Walking down the aisle.”

She looked surprised by the question at first, but after a moment she shook her head softly.

“Not really.”

“Confident?”

Mira nodded immediately. “Very.”

Abby smiled helplessly at that answer.

“You know,” he murmured, “I think I’m more nervous than you.”

“You?” Mira laughed softly. “Why?”

Abby tilted his head slightly while pretending to think deeply.

“Well,” he said casually, “there’s a lot of pressure.”

Mira narrowed her eyes already. “Pressure?”

“Yeah. You’re going to walk down the aisle looking beautiful and emotional.”

“That sounds normal.”

“And I’m supposed to survive that?”

“You’ll live.”

Abby looked unconvinced.

“You underestimate how distracting you are.”

Mira rolled her eyes affectionately. “You’re dramatic.”

“You know what makes it worse?”

“What?”

Abby leaned closer slowly, his grin turning teasing.

“I already know what you look like in your underwear.”

Mira froze instantly.

Then her entire face turned bright red.

“ABBY.”

He burst out laughing immediately while Mira smacked his shoulder repeatedly.

“You cannot say things like that!”

“It’s true.”

“That’s not the point!”

Abby only looked more entertained by her reaction.

“You’re cute when you’re flustered.”

“You’re impossible.”

“You love impossible.”

Mira opened her mouth to argue again only for Abby to kiss her suddenly.

This kiss was nothing like the first one.

It was deeper immediately, warm and electric enough to make Mira grab onto his jacket tighter as Abby pulled her closer against him. The city lights blurred around them while his fingers slid carefully along her waist and Mira melted completely into the kiss after only seconds.

Abby kissed her like he genuinely adored her.

Like he still could not believe she was real.

Mira kissed him back just as passionately, her earlier embarrassment disappearing instantly while she leaned up into him.

Then suddenly footsteps echoed loudly down the hallway.

Mira barely had enough time to pull away before Zoey sprinted past them grinning wildly.

“DON’T ASK QUESTIONS,” Zoey shouted while racing toward the apartment door.

The door slammed behind her.

Silence.

Mira blinked.

Abby blinked.

Then Abby looked down at Mira.

“…Should we be concerned?”

“Yes.”

“Very?”

“Extremely.”

Without another word they headed inside.

The second they walked into the apartment, chaos immediately greeted them.

Zoey was crouched behind Jinu on the couch while Jinu looked deeply entertained by something. Rumi sat beside him holding Hana while looking entirely confused.

“What happened?” Rumi asked immediately.

Zoey pointed dramatically toward the front door. “No one panic.”

“That sentence makes me want to panic,” Mira replied.

Abby crossed his arms. “What did you do?”

Zoey tried her best to look innocent and failed horribly.

“Well,” she started slowly, “Mystery wasn’t home.”

Jinu already looked excited.

“And?”

Zoey proudly held up the apartment key Mystery had given her earlier that week.

“So I used the key.”

Rumi blinked once. “Okay…”

Zoey grinned mischievously.

“And I rearranged all his furniture.”

Silence.

Then Jinu immediately burst into laughter.

“No.”

“Yes.”

“You actually did it?”

Zoey nodded proudly. “The couch is facing the kitchen now.”

Abby physically laughed out loud while Mira stared in disbelief.

“You broke into your boyfriend’s apartment just to redecorate as a prank?”

“I prefer the term interior comedy.”

Jinu held his hand up immediately.

Zoey slapped his hand in a victorious high five while Rumi laughed helplessly beside them.

“I’m so proud of you,” Jinu said emotionally.

“Thank you.”

“You’re encouraging her,” Mira complained.

“She’s evolving.”

Rumi shook her head smiling while adjusting sleepy Hana against her shoulder.

“You know Mystery’s going to lose his mind trying to figure out what happened.”

“That’s the fun part,” Zoey replied proudly.

Abby collapsed onto the couch beside Mira still laughing.

“You moved everything?”

“I even rotated his coffee table.”

“That’s evil.”

“I know.”

Mira stared at Zoey in disbelief for another second before suddenly laughing too.

“You’re ridiculous.”

Zoey bowed dramatically from behind Jinu.

“Thank you.”

Meanwhile Rumi smiled softly watching everyone together before Jinu suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her gently against his side.

“You’re smiling,” he murmured.

“They’re chaotic.”

“We’re chaotic too.”

“That’s true.”

Jinu leaned down to kiss her slowly while Hana yawned sleepily between them.

Zoey pointed immediately. “See? This is why I prank people. They’re too affectionate.”

Rumi laughed against Jinu’s lips while he kissed her one more time before pulling away.

“You’re just jealous,” he teased.

Zoey gasped dramatically. “I have Mystery.”

“Who currently has no idea where his couch is.”

Abby laughed so hard he nearly leaned into Mira completely.

Mira shook her head fondly before curling automatically against Abby’s side anyway.

“You know,” Abby said thoughtfully, “I almost respect the commitment.”

“Thank you,” Zoey replied proudly.

Rumi looked toward Mira curiously. “So how was the venue?”

Immediately Mira’s entire expression softened again.

Abby noticed instantly and smiled warmly.

“She loved it,” he answered for her.

Mira looked at him quietly before leaning over and kissing him softly again.

Zoey groaned dramatically. “Everyone keeps kissing.”

“That’s because we’re in love,” Abby replied.

Baby’s voice suddenly echoed faintly from another room.

“I regret knowing all of you.”

The apartment dissolved into laughter while Mira hid her smiling face against Abby’s shoulder, Zoey proudly admired her own chaos, and Rumi leaned comfortably into Jinu’s side feeling warmth settle through the entire room.
