Jisung's eyes widened at Minho's text that had just been sent. He was already on his way back home from the company, probably only a few minutes away and Jisung was not ready for him to walk in on the chaos he had created.
The house wasn't a mess per-say, but Jisung had neglected doing any of his chores for making up the best plan ever.
It was called 'Operation Richard'
Now, Jisung was known to love lizards, dinosaurs anything that he had watched on a documentary, Jisung had an urge to want one. Richard however was an investment he was prepared for.
Rushing to make sure his laptop was securely plugged and linked to the TV with his very well thought out power point, slide transitions and all. He had done a lot of research for this moment, and had definitely kept Minho up with his bright screen shining in the night when he was definitely suppose to be asleep.
On the screen was the the power point title page.
Jisung heard the beeping on the padlock and quickly closed the browser so the TV only showed his desktop background of Howl and Calcifer.
"Hannie, I'm home" Minho sang as he quickly kicked his shoes off in the entrance way and made his way to the living room. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Jisung standing in front of the TV, hands in front of him clasped tightly.
"W-Welcome home Hyung! Please make yourself comfortable as I present to you my new project!" Jisung did a couple of Jazz hands towards the screen.
"Umm, All I can see his Howl?" Minho raised an eyebrow and sat down on the sofa, dropping his bag by his feet as Jisung quickly muttered under his breath and clicked on his laptop to make a slideshow appear.
"5 reasons why Jisung would be a good dad.'
Minho almost chocked on his own spit. "Jisung?! What the hell?"
"No! Not like that Hyung. Oh my god. Wait!" Jisung waved his hands around and clicked for the first slide to change.
"Just hear me out! It will make sense in a moment."
No. 1 - Will always give them attention.
Minho frowned at the slide and then saw a picture of Jisung on their bed pop up onto the slide.
"Point One! I am a homebody, I will be here most of the time when I'm not at the company so Richard won't ever be alone." Jisung nodded along trying to convince Minho at the same time.
"Jisung, who the hell is Richard?" Minho crossed his arms as Jisung clicked onto the next slide, ignoring Minho's question.
No 2. I am committed to their lifespan
Minho felt like he was about to have a heart attack, if Jisung had a child that none of the members knew about..there would be a cause for concern.
"They have a lifespan of about fifteen to twenty years. I am committed to look after them for as long as this and more, to make sure Richard can live her best life!"
Minho blinked a few times," Richard is a girl?" and definitely not a human.
"Yes! Hyung you must be kind to her! Also don't judge her name! Names shouldn't be conformed to just one gender!"
No 3. I will make sure her tank is the perfect environment.
A picture of a tank appeared full of foliage and branches.
"I will make sure she has the best enclosure ever, kept at the perfect temperature and always making sure she has new branches and environments to explore." Jisung adding in some effects on the slide of leaves flying across the screen.
Then it hit Minho, just the other night when he woke up and saw Jisung watching videos on tiktok about pet geckos and their enclosures.
"Okay…so she needs a lot of space." Minho nodded along already seeing where this was going. There was no doubt Jisung had already brought Richard home and hid her in their spare room where Jisung filmed his covers for Instagram.
It's funny, he was going to ask Jisung if he wanted to raise a lizard together, they both wanted to and it honestly seemed like such a cute pet.
No. 4 - I will make sure when picking her up I am very careful
"I will make sure she doesn't get too stressed, and won't force her to climb on me straight away so that she doesn't drop her tail." Jisung did a few hand gestures pretending to let a gecko —Minho assumed — to crawl on his arm.
No.5 - I will make sure Minho also looks after her.
"If she has two dads then she won't ever be alone! She's just a baby!" Jisung grinned as Minho's face popped up into the slide. It was one from a few weeks ago when they were laying in bed all bundled up watching a movie together. Minho's hand ruffled from where they had been pretending to wrestle on the bed moments before.
"Am I paying for her as well?" Minho asked eyebrows raised as Jisung shook his head.
"Well, the set up wasn't as expensive as I thought. It's more vet bills and food that will cost a lot." Jisung shrugged.
Minho was already mentally looking through the animal clothes website where he had brought his cats clothes from, he briefly remembered there being a page for reptile pets.
Minho leaned forward acting serious," You know geckos eat bugs right? Like? Live bugs?"
Jisung squirmed lightly,"well! I don't think they need to always eat them. Besides can't my super brave boyfriend do that? Richard will love you if you do."
Minho let out a small chuckle and leant back on the sofa.
"Where is she?"
"Umm… in my studio…I was suppose to make this before I got her. But the store I found her in told me that lots of others were looking at her and thinking that she would be brought soon. But like..that's my daughter?! I couldn't abandon her to a different family! I already had my adoption papers at the ready!"
Jisung grabbed Minho's hand and pulled him to his feet. " Come and meet her Hyung!"
Minho smiled softly at the excitement on Jisung's face. He looked so excited, feet bouncing around.
"She's like a tiny dinosaur! And you will finally get to see a lizard shred in person!" Jisung pushed open the bedroom door as Minho squeezed his hand lightly.
"Richard!" Jisung barely held back a squeal.
In the corner of the room there was now an enclosure with warm lights and a heater, lots of different bark and logs with tiny holes for the gecko to hide in. Richard was currently climbing up one of the logs.
"She's so cute!" Jisung grinned as Minho peaked into the enclosure.
She was tiny, and dare Minho say, looked similar to Jisung with her big boba like eyes.
"Come here Richard…Come to Appa." Jisung said softly, Minho watched as Jisung opened the cage before quickly shutting it.
"Ah wait! We gotta wash our hands!" Jisung dragged Minho all the way to the bathroom as they both washed their hands.
"Okay now!" Jisung smiled again as he opened up Richard's cage again.
"Come on Richard," Jisung stuck his hand out as Richard looked over to Jisung, slightly intrigued but not moving from her perch.
"Hyung you have a go." Jisung shuffled out the way as Minho moved towards the open door.
"Okay, but she doesn't know me Jisungie.. I don't thin-" Minho shut up as quickly as he started when he saw Richard move slowly towards Minho's hand.
"Oh my god!" Jisung let out a whisper watching how Richard slowly began climbing onto Minho's open hand.
Minho sucked in a breath.
"See! She's chosen you as her second dad!" Jisung watched carefully as Richard climbed onto Minho's palm and went still.
"She's so cute" Minho whispered in awe as he stared at Richard's tiny face looking back at him.
"Hold still! I want a picture of this!" Jisung pulled his phone out of his pocket and wasted no time in taking a picture of Richard and Minho looking at each other. He already knew Jisung would make it his lock screen.
"I would die for her." Minho stated as Richard blinked softly at Minho.
"Well all of STAY also would." Jisung mentioned as he showed some of the chaos on the timeline from Jisung sharing a picture of Richard on his bubble account.
"Well, if Richard has no fans it means we are both dead." Minho said sternly.
