Chapter Text
July was finally here. Lando has waited so long for it. No more school for two months. No more early alarms, and two months of fun and parties. Yeah, the summer of his dream. With Max, George, Alex, Daniel, and the others, they have already planned their entire holidays. It will be the best summer of his life, and he couldn’t wait. They are even going to meet a friend of Logan. His name is Oscar, and apparently he's from Australia. Lando always had a thing for the Australian accent. He hoped Logan’s friend looked cute, it would make his holidays even better and entertaining.
Speaking of friends, his phone buzzed as he was staring at his ceiling, not quite zoning out but on the verge of it, too lazy to get up. He groaned, and picked up the call. It was Daniel. Of course it was. He was always the one to get everything ready for the hangouts and parties, since he was a year older. Lando was the youngest from the group.
"Yo Dan what's up ?"
"Hey Lan ! We're going to the beach with the team, my dad let me borrow his mini-van. You're up to come with us ?"
"The beach ?! mate it’s one hour away…" complained Lando in an exaggerated sigh.
“Oh come on ! You’re always up to push everyone in the sea !”
“ugh you’re right. Fine, I’m in”
"Perfect. I'm at your house in five minutes-" he got interrupted by a voice, but Lando couldn't tell who it was. " Yes Pierre I did buy the beers ! Jesus. This little bitchy rat." Lando chuckled at his friend's remark, as he was already packing his stuff. "You sure your parents will let you get out though ?"
"Of course. Pretty sure they would prefer that than me staying in my room and playing video games. And especially after… last year. Logan's friend will be with us or he's coming later during the week ?"
"Uh, Logan told me he was joining us later, so I guess he'll be here yeah. Why, already in love because he's Australian ?"
"Ha ! If I was falling in love just because of a nationality, I would already be head over heels for you" Lando teased with a laugh, as he was trying to find clean clothes in the mess that was his room. One day maybe, he will clean it up.
"Wait, you're not ?" Daniel exaggerated his outrage, and Lando laughed once again.
"You’re too old anyways."
"What ? hey I’m just-"
"Anyways, see ya mate, gotta finish to get ready."
"We're here in five, little bastard," Lando chuckled.
"Alright perfect !"
Lando hung up, and kept fighting with his room to find some decent and clean clothes. In the end, he gave up and chose an old grey band tee that was probably from his dad, and neon green and black swim shorts. Yeah, it'll do the job. He then put a towel in a bag with way too many key chains, and some dry clothes. With those guys ? You never know what could happen. He then went to his bathroom to brush his teeth, and didn't even try to do his hair. Curls are such a nightmare to style, he is not fighting with them today.
When he got down, he received a surprised look from his parents, who were doing some cleaning. Lando shrugged, and told them he was going out with his friends. Not knowing when he would come back. He was almost eighteen, they were more ok with him going out than last year or the year before. Daniel was here anyways, he could do anything as long as he was here. He grabbed something to eat on the table, and left his house. Daniel arrived at the same time with his mini-van, music blasting from the speakers.
Yeah, it is going to be the best summer of his life.
George opened the lateral door, and screamed at him to get in. Lando didn't wait a second, and jumped into the car. He was ready to live a chaotic day at the beach. George friendly hit his shoulder, and Lando smiled back at him. He greeted everyone, as they were driving to the beach, already screaming the music and joking. This will be their next everyday life, and people in Midtown Fall should be worried. Because they are going to make sure this will be unforgettable for everyone. All of his friends are moving away at the end of the summer for their studies, so this is even more a must.
"As soon as we arrive Charles, I swear I'm going to drown you" said Pierre. Lando didn't realise when he got in, but the poor guy was soaked. Apparently Charles emptied his bottle on him when they came by to catch him.
"I just needed to verify Yuki's theory !" Replied Charles, trying to defend himself.
"What ?" Said the french guy, looking at Charles like he was crazy.
"I said you were a mermaid, but I just couldn't prove it." Replied Yuki, with a mischievous smile on his lips. Max chuckled, and Lando did too.
"Nah I'm sure he's into something" said Max.
"I agree. You're not a hundred percent human, there's something off with you" Lando continued, laughing.
"You should be afraid of me then, mister I'm scared of fishes"
This little bitch. Thought Lando.
"I'm not scared ! I just don't like them."
"Shut up or I’m dropping you off the van.” Said Daniel with a fake serious face.
Everyone laughed, and kept chatting and teasing each-other. After a moment, Daniel spoke again “ We're arrived. Charles, you better start running for your life" he said as he was parking the mini-van and laughing. The hour went by way faster than expected. Or maybe Lando just zoned out and didn’t even realise it.
They all laughed once again, and Lando opened the door. Charles ran out of the car, and Pierre didn't wait long to hunt him down. Yuki was laughing his heart out at them acting like kids, while Daniel and Max were completing their parenting duties. Alex, George and Lando were already planning their mischief. And their first victim was Max. The plan was simple, catching him by surprise to drag him into the water.
But for now, the main attraction was Charles being chased by Pierre. This was simply too funny to look at something else.
"Max, you should help your boyfriend instead of playing the dad before his entire cardio runs out." Lando said in a mocking tone. These two were finally together after four years of flirting. Four long years, because those two were big idiots, according to Lando.
"Oh I'm not worried about Charles cardio. He can be quite impressive." He replied with a half smile.
With his two partners in crimes, Lando faked being repulsed and throwing up, trying to hold their laughs.
"Ew !" Said Alex.
"We do not need the details !" Continued George.
"Yeah, that's disgusting !" Lando went one further.
And he saw Max rolling his eyes with a little smile.
"You're such kids. And Lando, don’t act as if you didn’t share a night with a guy from my class." Lando could hear his mischievous voice. And he knew what he was referring to, but decided to fake not knowing.
"Pff, I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh so who was this guy you went home with after prom ?" Continued Max, with an angelic and innocent smile.
Lando flushed instantly, and raised his hands.
"Alright alright ! I surrender. I can't believe you're using that against me !" complained Lando, while all the eyes were falling on him. Max was the only one to know. Until now.
"How I wasn't aware of that ?!" Said George, outraged. "You did it with who ?"
"I'm not answering that." Lando replied, suddenly very interested in helping Daniel with the parasol. “it was just a hookup anyways”
"No, we need to know !!" Complained Alex.
"I- it was- a guy."
"It was Magnus," replied Max, with a grin.
Lando became even more red, as he was desperately trying to ignore the two guys gasping behind him.
"You did it with Magnus ?!" They asked in unison
"THE Magnus ?? Like, Magnus Corceiro ?" Continued Alex.
"Hey I am not here to talk about who I-"
"He's the one that got-" started Max.
Lando dropped everything and started to chase Max before he could finish his sentence.
"You little bitch you swore you wouldn't tell !!"
Max started to laugh his heart out, as he was running away from Lando. He had no idea where Pierre and Charles went, but it was now their time to start a chase. All the people there to enjoy the sun and the beginning of the summer were cursing them, as Lando was still trying to catch his stupid friend.
Eventually, he got smarter and tackled him in the sea. Lando made sure Max’s entire head got under the water, even if it meant having to get his poor shirt soaked. Everything for the vengeance. Max went back to the surface, insulting his friend for soaking his clothes, but still laughing and spitting out water. He eventually grabbed Lando’s shoulder to drown him back. He made him swallow water, and bad memories came back in a split second in Lando’s mind, as a wave of panic rushed through his body. He hit Max violently in the ribs, and he let go of him.
"Bastard, I got scared for a second !" Lando said, coughing like crazy.
"Sorry I thought you took your breath before." Max replies worrily, holding his ribs. He had hit him harder than intended, and he knew bad memories came back in Max’s mind too. So Lando put his usual smile on, and waved it off.
"Eh, that's fine." Lando friendly hit his shoulder. "I'm not dead."
Max whispered something, but Lando didn’t understand it, and didn’t ask him to repeat himself. He didn’t want to know anyways.
Lando splashed some water at him to make the unease disappear, and he saw Max rolling his eyes with a smile.
“You’re a child Lando”
Max chuckled, and they got out of the water to join back their friends. Max took Charles, who was surprisingly still dry, in his arms, making him grouse. Lando decided to upset more than one person, and shook his entire self in the middle of his entire friend group like a dog. Like he hoped, everyone started to complain. Mission accomplished ! He then took off his soaked shirt, and Daniel started to whistle. He rolled his eyes and gave him his middle finger.
"That's too early for the strip tease. I'll need to drink some beers before" Lando winked at him, and a general laugh erupted from their group. Oh how he loves spending time with them.
"Nah but really I need to see this guy drunk." Said Yuki.
Everyone looked at him, with shock.
"Because you never did ?!" Asked Max, in complete shock. "How is that even possible ?"
"Doesn't matter, we are going to resolve this today. And we will have this strip tease."
"In your dreams Daniel" replied Lando, with a huge smile and his middle finger.
His friend got up way too quickly and tackled him in the sand. An absolutely not masculine scream escaped his throat, and he started to laugh like a mad man, as Daniel was putting him under the tickle torture. Lando was laughing uncontrollably, as everyone was laughing at him too. He started to beg his friend to stop, but Daniel had other plans, because he sat on him and kept tickling me. Tears started to run down his cheeks, as his abs and mouth started to hurt because of the laugh. When Daniel finally stopped, he was out of breath.
"Jeez guys, you can still get a room if you want to fuck." Teased Charles with a mocking smile and a fake annoyed expression.
"Oh I'm NOT fucking the old man." Lando replied, dragging himself out of Daniel’s reach and fastly jumping on his feet to be sure he would not try to tickle him to death.
"You would be the one being fucked anyways." Shouted a voice from afar. They all looked in this direction, and a smile appeared on their lips.
"Well, hello to you too Logan !"
Logan offered them a big bright smile, and joined them. And that's when Lando saw him. Behind Logan, was walking a gorgeous man, a cap very well tucked on his head, almost hiding his eyes. But even with that, Lando could tell this man had an angelic face. Oh god this is going to be interesting, thought Lando. His eyes fastly checked him, and he couldn't help but smirk.
