So before the first chapter I want to kind of lay out some things about my AU. Obviously this is a/b/o, omega verse. For this fic I have taken A LOT of inspiration from Japanese and Korean BL.
Essentially this fic is my fujoshi final form.
I love getting to create my own version of things and this idea has been floating around my head for a while. I have read a lot of BL manga and manhwas. The inspiration is extremely evident once you start reading.
So here is my A/B/O dynamics for this fic.
For my variation, there are people who have secondary sex characteristics and people who do not. ‘Normal’ isn't really a good word for it. Secondary sex characteristics are mostly genetic mutations. Not everyone has them. Alphas experience ruts and omegas experience heats. Soul bonding is not as common in modern society. With the introduction of medications most people can avoid most negative side effects caused by their secondary sex characteristics. Suppressants, birth control, pheromone blockers.
All omegas can get pregnant, all alphas can get an omega pregnant. Betas typically do not go into rut or heat. However they are able to distinguish scents, and produce a scent that is typically considered calming for omegas and alphas.
Most people present in puberty with mild versions of their heat/rut cycles. These cycles vary person to person. Most people will experience their first true rut/heat in their late teens. 15-20 years old is the typical time frame however there are cases of cycles starting as young as 13 and as old as 30.
Also, I am not a big fan of dubious consent/noncon so heat/rut cycles are not an excuse for SA in this universe. Throughout this story you will see Mike and Will ask for consent repeatedly. Consent is sexy.
When I wrote this, I had a vivid idea of Mike and Will living in a very walkable college town, in a super college style apartment. So to end this little preface I have their apartment layout and some art I did for this fic.
